    hey mate. Great review. You have given the best real-world advice on the awning and the single best awning review I have seen. You use the awning probably how most people would and you show it in the video. every awning review should have a hanging test!!! much appreciated and definitely earned my sub

    You’re a natural Harry, clear, concise matter of fact review. I’m wading through the 270 awning pool atm, it’ll be my first awning, changed my mind 4 or 5 times and now the darche eclipse is on the order list, but now there’s an eclipse Gen 2 which I assume is an improved eclipse, your review probably encouraged them to pull their finger out. Top review…

    Those aluminium welds on the hinge side will thank you for using the legs when the awning is in use. They are pretty brittle.

    Let me start off by saying, you’re a legend behind the camera. You should put out as much content as possible I’d watch all your videos.
    Secondly, I think you just sold me on the Darche awning over the competition. Looks like a waaayyy better value for the money.
    Thanks mate! Keep doin ya thing 🤙🏾

    I was very into bush company and Alu Cab, but I guess Darche is the way to go and really enough for me.

    Thank you greetings from Switzerland

    Hi Good work on the vid, i have 1 of these for several years and they work great, but i did notice that it seems that u have the awning to far back. If u have a gap between awning and the back of the car rain will flow in so move the awning further onto the roof rack, so when u open the awning the back part is over the back door, further up towards the front the better, play with it to suit. And yes they pool water, but if u put the walls up no pool i have all walls and seems to work, and they extra room makes it worth it.

    • @harrydonnan141
      @harrydonnan141  3 роки тому +1

      I agree, although I cannot move it any more forward otherwise I wouldn’t be able to put the poles in for my roof top tent. It’s not a problem though as the tailgate stops any rain from coming in. Cheers

    I don’t have any trouble zipping mine back up... although I do 2 folds of the canvas before I start the roll up on the rest of it.
    It makes less of a bunched up bulge of canvas at the front! Give that a crack 🤙🏼 I way prefer the tight bag look 👌🏼
    Good vid!!

    Great review. I think if you folded the fabric 'corner up' instead of rolling the fabric like they show in a lot of the other brand videos you'll have less bulk at the point where your zipper's getting stuck.

    Hi, I enjoyed the video and thanks for posting. I think you must have rolled the awning up wrong as I have seen another you tube clip where Trevor's partner - it was a 4x4 channel, easily walked along and zipped the bag up. I was surprised how easily she did it, two of them did roll it up so may have something to do with it. Top show, actually I think you have convinced me to get one. Have been you tubing for the last 2 days looking at awnings.....

    I agree I have the walls they take a bit more time to fit but give the privacy U need to have flat ground before setting up the walls, how hard is it to make sure there’s room in the bag when it was produced 😎

    Good insight on the awning I heard bad things about condensation with the cover.
    I'm interested in the way you have mounted it to your tend.
    I have a motop and I have been told I can't mount a free standing awning on it as it's not strong enough..
    I find that strange as it has a double slot on the bottom of the tent and the roof can hold up to 30kg with single slot.
    It would be great to some how see some footage or pics of your mounted system..
    Great review never the less thank you

    I just fitted 1 and like the looks of it, when pulling the the canvas tight at the back with the strap does your very end bar (the one that literally goes across the tail gate) flex a bit to be able to keep the canvas tight?

    • @harrydonnan141
      @harrydonnan141  3 роки тому

      Hey mate no, I don’t get any flex at all in the end bar it stays completely straight, the bar just contains pulling backwards until the canvas is tight
