It is important to point out that there is a difference between aerobic exercise, and resistance training, also known as weight lifting. Also, this video covered only benefits related to heart health. How much aerobic exercise is needed for women to receive the benefits to the brain, immune system, bones, and so forth. While the heart is vitally important, so are the other organs.

Women are more likely to do equal work for less pay. Women are more likely to be the victims of SA, DV and/or un-alived by their spouses. Women also face sexism on the daily, which affects their mental health through harassment, discrimination, or an internalized sense of inferiority. They may also pay more for everyday items, such as toys, clothes, and protective gear, as well as for services like senior home healthcare. Male privilege is real. Enjoy it.

Bottom line, men and women need to exercise more in general. One third cardio based and two thirds weights based or resistance based workouts. Doing this at least three times a week in conjunction with a sensible diet such as more fruit, vegetables, pulses, fish, lean meats and less processed or fast foods will deliver in spades. The country has a problem with obesity and the general population is literally moving much less. Get active, get engaged, look after your physical and mental well-being because nobody else will do it for you!

My Garmin smart watch keeps track of "Intensity Minutes". Working out close to maximum heart rate is effectively double the minutes. So, if you workout very intensely for 20 minutes per day or 40 minutes every other day, then you get the same (or more) benefits.
Exercise is very good for brain function, overall energy levels, mood, hormones, and self-esteem. I have found that when I workout more I'm significantly more productive in all other areas of my life, even though I'm spending quite a bit of time working out. My motivation and energy is higher, and I'm able to learn and think better.

I wonder how stimulants impact the cardiovascular system of men vs women based on this info. You’d think because women have smaller hearts it would negatively impact them more, but if they need less exercise to stay healthy, and cardio makes your heart stronger, then maybe they have stronger hearts with all other lifestyle factors equal and can therefore handle more amphetamines/cocaine/caffeine/etc

    • @cryptocsguy9282

@minarao1357 that doesn't make any sense , men can handle more exercise & all nutritional guides suggests that women need less food & the safe amount of alcohol & caffeine is less for women than for men. That's why our bodies require more stimulus. But we are slowly evolving toward a different direction where survival of the fittest is no longer mainly physical. Soon, we'll all be able to meditate like trees and still be healthy. Then the koalas will take over and enslave us.

Looks like the best strategy for men would be to get rid of muscle mass. So cyberport must be really great, usually these folks have super skinny arms and legs. just don't push on junk food😂

0:15 " and for once, the gap favours women." well women never have prostate problems, estrogen protects women from boldness and other things so many things favour women.

'Why women need less cardio' wouldn't have been quite as misleading a title but the video still would have been absolute shite all things considered.

Exactly. This advice for "men" and "women" is outdated, reductionist, essentialist and offensive.
My transgender boyfriend who was assigned female at birth, presents still as female and has not begun transition, would they benefit from more or less cardio?
He identifies as a man so should he do more cardio?
