Love this film, thank you for reviewing it, especially the Twilight Time release that I also managed to pick up a few months ago. I wonder if you have seen 84 Charing Cross Road with Hopkins and Anne Bancroft, it's a similar sort of slow bookish piece, to me at least, perhaps not as great as Remains but definitely worth a watch.
Also really liking your videos, especially the western ones, many of which I have seen and love. But others I haven't, I bought the Gunfighter after watching one of your videos and loved it. And really looking forward to seeing Winchester '73 in January, another I have not seen.
A few recommendations I suggest considering what I can tell from your likes is Harakiri and Samurai Rebellion, both on Criterion. Great films that really pack a punch on multiple levels. Anything by Kobayashi is well worth your time. The Breaking Point by Michael Curtiz and Moonrise by Borzage, for some overlooked noir gems, both on Criterion again.
Thanks for the wonderful content, your love of these films really comes through.

@@mattglass I haven’t heard of The Breaking Point. I’ll have to look into that. You’ve got some really great recommendations there! Thanks!

A beautiful film in every respect. Emma Thompson is a goddess of the screen. This is not hyperbole.
