- This time I finally cover the abandoned college tower that is right next to the entrance to Glasgow Queen Street Station and just like with Pentland Court the power to the tower is still on and I can get on the roof of this tower too just like with Edmonstone Court I will do multiple parts on this amazing building as there is so much to cover so stay tuned for that. So Enjoy Giggity.
Ran up those stairs numerous times 😄 the memories.
The stairs at 4:10 lead up to the studio and gallery where the tv and film students would film in. You could also access the roof via the studio’s gallery so that may have been the other door you saw that was locked up there. I did my Honours course in this building even though it was actually an Edinburgh Napier course but it was handy going here rather than commuting to Edinburgh every day! I have some things I filmed up there on my channel including a wee shoot I did with Sanjeev Kohli from Still Game! I’m now a TV Producer and have worked on many big shows and some films as well but kind of emotional seeing this as my journey sort of began here when I graduated in 2014. It was surreal seeing that staircase in the condition it’s in now but have been wondering how the old place looks inside so thank you for this video. Really interesting.
Great vid (this and the Charles Oakley Building one). Both were designed by the same architect. Legend has it Charles Oakley Building was the original design for the Met Tower, then it was decided it wasn't big enough, so they sent the architect back to the drawing board so he just scaled it up to a 14 storey building. That's why they look like sisters of each other.
Another great giggty vid JT. Nice views Glasgow skyline at night 😎😎😎😎👍👍👍
Hi JT another fantastic video well done and keep up the great work and giggty
Another giggty video Jt nice sight of Glasgow nighttime skyline 👍👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎
Don't you ever get nervous wandering round these abandoned buildings? Lets face it, there are lots of "undesirables" around or there's the risk of having some kind of accident. I assume the thrill of exploring these locations cancels out any nerves? Still, it's always interesting to see what you've been up to. 👍
I used to in 2018 and 2019 but since I have been doing it for a while now it becomes second nature to not get scared at all
I used to run up and down those stairs getting to classes 1997 to 2000 amazing b listed building
You go into my old classroom from 1995 (room 1301), did Portfolio Prep in there because my portfolio was shit after I left school, spent days just looking out over the city, painting storm clouds rolling along the Clyde and nude models when we could afford it. Good times. I don't miss those stairs, quicker than the lift in the morning though. Went back about 5 years ago when the GFT were showing Die Hard in the studio on the roof, they had done the 13th floor up like an 80's office Christmas party and were giving out cocktails that looked like blood on broken glass.
My Grandfather was the foreman on the construction of it. Strange seeing it like this. I remember reading that much of it is listed, even the wooden handrails in the stairwell.
lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Went to college here for a few weeks when the nautical college wasn’t ready yet. Weird seeing it empty like that
I didnt know that place was abandoned i thought it was only just built
You’ve got to be kidding? It’s well past demolition time for this eyesore.
It opened in 1964!
@@fountainwell49man65how do you get in ?
By god J T, you've done it again, may I pick your brains about how you got in this one? Inspiring to see someone get up what seems to be a perfectly secure building!
It is completely blocked off now but really all you have to do is look around the building properly and even look at the 1st floor if the ground floor has been boarded up and you also have to be a really good climber too lol
@@JT-df3yz btw wouldnt the camers be active if there were any?
@@nightskyremedies yes they would as the building still has power but I didn't see any cameras during my explore
nice video young man
Thanks mate really appreciate that
Another great video J T! Could you give a shout out to my big mate Matt, it's his birthday today and he loves your videos. Keep up the good work and Giggity GOO!
Thanks man and Happy Birthday Matt hope you have a great day Giggity Goo! 🙂
The plumbing company I was employed with as a 16-year-old apprentice used to carry out work at this & other colleges & schools around Glasgow. I remember doing some weightlifting during my lunch break in the oddly-shaped structure on the roof, which was a gym!
how you doing bro, nice video, is this building still about ?
It is but it's being refurbished and is fully stripped out now
@@JT-df3yzSo it might make a comeback in the future?
Lol imagine looking up and seeing the lights flickering on and off
Yo I has been in here back in summer it was crazy
How did you get in 😭
i had a dream a black glassy tower was built in its place couple years ago
Worked in the building in the 80s busy place then bit sad now
I watched that being built, I lived in the city centre
Was a bastard walking those stairs when I was a student there. Should've just got the lift since the power is on
The lifts were not working sadly and I don't know my lifts well at all
@@JT-df3yz I've got a key for the old dewhurt fixture lifts (same one as central station) can usually turn them back on if they're off. There's a hidden floor at Glasgow Royal infirmary as well.
9:53 empire state of mind starts playing
I hear this is blocked off now, pity, Glasgow urbex isn't getting any easier.
Every climbed the Anniesland gasworks? I've been in there a handful of times and it's a cool site, definitely not for those afraid of heights though.
I got in last week, its extremely easy and extremely easy to avoid the few alarms
the lifts were awful, and the stairs were murder. lol sad to see it crumble still
They've put a metal fence around the bit where you entered
Yes I know that at least I have been inside and now it won't get vandalised again
How did you get in? Been trying to get into it for a couple of months now.
If you go to the smaller building on Cathedral Street there is a hole in the 1st floor window so just climb onto the boarded up window on the ground floor using a gate and then carefully go through the window and lower yourself down
Tried to get in today, couldn’t see the window you were on about, maybe they’ve boarded it up
@@keirapaterson4358 Bastard they have I was just at it today and it is now completely blocked off.
Thought that, shame like. Even phoned the college to see if someone could let me in, they sold it to someone but don’t know who. Trying to find out who owns it now haha.
What's inside the building on the roof?
Just an empty hall
How u get in cause there’s only one way because it got borded up and there’s only one way in now how do u know about ut
I thought that was the only way in until I had a look about for another entrance and I seen that there is a way in behind that board and into the building near Cathedral St
Hey man I know we’re this is could I ask how you got in ? 😊
Well sadly the way I got in has been boarded up a couple of days after I did this video but the way in was through a broken window on the 1st floor of the smaller building next to the tower and then you just follow the signs that say "Tower Block" and that will lead you into the main tower
@@JT-df3yz thank you 😊
How did you get in
I thought they were going to turn the place into flats
is this building still accessible
Sadly not it hasn't been accessible for over a year now
It's haunted as shit
Is this lawful or breaking and entering 🤔
It is lawful as I didn't force entry and smash anything inside the building and I didn't steal anything and trespassing is only a civil offence meaning if the police do arrive they will just tell me to leave the building and they will just leave it there and nothing will happen to me cause it is only a civil matter not a criminal matter however forcing entry and vandalising is criminal and I avoid doing that completely
@@JT-df3yz polis might do you for trespassing but all depends on if you get a good or bad 🐷😂
@@dannyferguson4827 if they do I will film them and tell them right 😂
@@JT-df3yz 😂
u gay mate
Nah I am not
I used to go to this place in the 90s, can you return and take a shit on the 8th floor were most of my classes were?
Hahaha 🤣🤣🤣🤣
