It looks to me like they made them more “kid safe”. I mean, it’s harder to poke your eye out with a chunkier, shorter wand. Less pointy means less danger.

Buy them from Barnes & nobles cuz the ones from Barnes & nobles are the most closest you'll get to a realistic-looking one from the movies they're are super long in length like they're supposed to be and the details amazing 😍

So I got these except the mystery set I was getting was the patronus series, so they came with a stand and a little pendent type thing with each witches and wizards patronus.
I have a couple of these, but they didn't have bookmarks, they had a patronus wand stand. I have Luna Lovegood and Jenny Weasley. (I would have loved the bookmarks too!)
I feel like they're shorter/thicker because they want kiddos to be able to play with them and not break.
And not poke their eye out lool!

I got a couple of pieces of wooden dowel, got the dremel out and made a replica of Harry Potter's wand for a friend. Didn't have a phoenix feather so I put a peacock feather inside it instead.
I always love when she just dumps her entire haul on the table with a giant grin on her face out of nowhere!

I think there thicker so there easier to grip, and they're a bit less breakable than a long, thin one.
It cracks me up how some of these wands are made. Could you imagine being 11, buying your first wand and that death eater wand choosing you? You know good and well everyone in the store is eyeballing you like, "welp this ones gunna be evil." 😂😂

My favorite thing about the wizarding world is how the films are made! It's very interesting to see what things are used to make the movies. ⚡ Also, part 2? I heard there's a professor wand series.

I think that the wands are meant for children, so the thickness is easier and safer to play with
A group of my friends and I all bought one of these wands and we all ended up getting different ones, mine was Tonks' wand and I traded it for my friend's Luna wand because she's my favourite~

I know this video is two years old. But I just needed make a comment about Nevilles wand. If i recall correctly he inherit the wand from his father which he sadly broke during a battle in 5th book? So the wand was his fathers from the beginning, but eventually ended up with Neville himself after his parents was sent to St Mungos hospital after Bellatrix tortured them with the crucio curse.
The offbrand mystery wand box for Christmas I got Luna lovegood 😂 but instead, I got a post for the wand. It’s kind of in between the original and the Harry Potter brand it wasn’t too thick, but it was like still kind of thicker than the other one but it’s longer and I got her Petronas too.

They are probably made that way because the kind of display base they come with. You put the tip inside the base. You probably can’t do that with a more accurate replica.

I bought quite a few of these a while back. I always thought Draco's wand looks like a giant chocolate finger! Another use is for Cosplayers so they don't break their expensive versions at conventions.

Harry taught us to never give up , Ron taught us things like- learn from your mistakes, never be afraid to stick up for your friends , Hermione taught us being intelligent isn't a weakness and It's okay to be afraid of failure etc.⚡
