It really works well, the only wish I have maybe is instead of just having sweep on dial, I wish it would show the frequency range like on an amplifier.
I hope they put a clipping light on the knob, we don't need power lights to hear that our subs are on. 2 lights every amp knob should have clipping input and clipping output. A volt meter is always nice to....
10:00 if it saved on space then we wouldn't need both Epicenter and this Epicenter micro. I recall him saying this is not to replace your Epicenter but adds to it. AudioControl should have created a new micro Epicenter as they did with LC7i » LC2i Pro, LC1i, etc.
Epicenter is legendary status nothing else compares. The old school Phoenix Gold Bass Cube and MTX LSB1 are badass in their own way, but nothing what an epicenter does.
so is there a way to shut off/ bypass during hip hop. and use the knob as bass knob to the amp. epi works great with rock/mex/oldies but with hip hop it sounds muddy.
That thing is even smaller than the LC2i in my Mercedes. Thats awesome. I'm not a fan of the signal sense remote turn on tho. Every time I locked my doors, my amp would turn on. So I stuck to the old school remote wire lol.
This is the first person I've heard say that the micro does not replace the original epicenter. I want one just for the new 2 function bass knob, but if I have to buy both rather then swap one for the other, well, I think I'll pass.
Okay, being 'that guy' with a 2nd comment... @09:00 ...knew @ this product but NOT the "dual knob" functions... more user friendly is just better. 1st World problems... get the in-dash 1/2 DIN or the Micro?

🔴So there is only one line out. What do i do if i have two amplifier (bass and mids) how does that one line out supply both amps. wont i need a bass rca and a full range rca signal
Do you have a video of you guys installing one these micros I'll be installing one in a week and want it and the knob to be set up right. What size fuse should I use for the epicenter also?
Just for clarification will i need to run a remote signal to the epicenter micro or does the trigger mode provide the remote turn on for it? If yes can it provide the remote turn on for the amplifier?
I was literally about to order the audiocontrol lc2i and the epicenter! I’m so glad I watched this video! I’m going to wait for this new epicenter now!
The point is that no matter what, the ACR-U will be cleaner, easier to install, and higher quality than a traditional universal level controller. If the system is already installed, you could easily use a 1’ rca from the ACR hideaway module to the amp, and then just plug in the existing RCA’s that were going to the amp into the input side of the ACR-U. Now all you have to do is run a CAT5 up to the dashboard.
Wait! So, the taper on this new ACR-U is linear, and I stress linear, from 0% to 100%?!? As opposed to the typical logarithmic tapered bass knobs that come with amplifiers? I've taken five of the manufacturer's bass knobs apart they always have a Bournes logarithmic tapered pot that I have to change to a linear tapered pot for SPL applications.
You are correct, sir. I’ll even double check with our engineering team so I can be 100% certain, but having a linear potentiometer was one of my main design elements I requested when we designed this piece.
@@MrMattyXb If true that's a game-changer for SPL applications. Now, if there were only a way to index a multi-turn potentiometer either with a digital readout "0-99" or at minimum mechanical detents in the pot. ie: each percentage number or detent is worth some amount of power, say 25 watts on the Term-Lab clamp
Would LOVE to see audio control start making amplifiers with the absolute newest technology, aka the size will be incredibly small but incredibly powerful. Very interesting the size of the new Epicenter. Just wish they'd make something similar to what the PG BassCube was/is. About the ACR, they need to come back out with the MVC.
Does it require a full range signal like the older Epicenter models? Never used my Epicenter do to that. I wanted it inline between my dsp and sub amp.
Mate just got the epicenter micro, and the quality of bass it’s very bad, not sure if is because I got the signal from the original subwoofer in the car under the seat, this is a problem? Or I need take the signal from the door speakers? Happy to let me know pls Tks

Just doing a new install in a new car and was even going to disassemble and re-paint my rough looking Epicenter to not clash so much with my brand new install... The Epicenter is cool. But What in the world is up with the universal knob? Thats multiple cables and devices. Ill take a knob plugged directly into the amp or whatever over that any day. The distance is the only advance that universal controller has
If your amplifier is capable of having a direct volume knob, then you are absolutely correct. However, there are plenty of amplifiers out there that do not have the ability to have a knob plugged directly into them. Or, maybe you have an amplifier that is a few years old, and you no longer have the knob for it or one is no longer available for it. That’s really where the ACR-u comes into play.
@@MrMattyXb Yeah, I didn't really think about that at first. I guess it's just kind of hard in 2021 to wrap my mind around the multi-wire thing in a world going wireless.
As an add-on for an existing aftermarket amplified system, wouldn’t it be easier to mount the level controller behind the radio? Because if you mount it back by the amp, you still have to pop open panels to run cat5/6
You're not wrong, though I suppose it's a matter of where you want the level controller placed at (as it could be placed anywhere along the RCA runs back from the HU to the amp, assuming the lengths were accomodating). So, if say your system used 20' of RCAs, in theory you could run the first 10' through the panels to around your seat, add the ACR-U module under the seat there, then run the remaining 10' back to the amp, and the only CAT cable you'd need would be from under your seat to wherever you wanted to mount the knob... _Maybe_ 3'... But since most RCA runs are already going to be ran (let-alone be ran with two 10' segments already), the term "easier" referring to which way it's ran from depends on which would be easier for _you;_ opening up your dash to mount the install near the HU or just running it back up from the amp.
Yes, you could put the hideaway portion of the acr-u anywhere in the signal chain. Up near the source unit, back by the amps, doesn’t matter. Short run of cat5, long run of cat5, either way it all works. Totally depends on the system.
I've been running epicenters since they very first come out. I dont like the new ones compared to the old ones. Seems the new ones drive the tone down too much where some of the songs in the 80s say played at 35 hertz now its 20 hertz. Wished I had kept my old one
