Also recently heard another little tip! If you’re the type of person who throws clean clothes on the ground as you’re picking an outfit, keep an extra hamper around specifically for clean clothes that need to be hung back up/put away!!
When I am drying my tops, I only dry them for about 5-7 minutes. Then, I put them on a hanger and smooth them. They do not shrink. They are not wrinkled. I have been doing this for years with success. I taught this to my now-grown sons when they were young and they have the same success.
My mother washed EVERYTHING inside out. It was easier to do than trying to remember which items should be tuned inside out & which didn't need it. So I've done the same - for decades now. Worked out very well.
I just inherited my mom's washer and dryer, and this couldn't have come at a better time! Also, I'm so happy to see you shout out Clean My Space. You and Melissa have saved my cleaning life lol!!
I am seriously in love with your laundry room!!!!! As a single mom with 4 girls and a husband that passed away i work constantly plus i go to school full time and i would seriously dieeeee over this laundry room!!!

Maggie's World - I read up on the “Dryer Balls” And waay too many cons! Lose fibres on your clothes. Get caught in your clothes, leave a sheep smell on your clothes, Don’t remove all static, doesn’t remove as many wrinkles, and does not get your clothes soft just to mention a few. So I really don’t see what would be a benefit of having these “dryer balls” when you’re going to have a Great deal of work after your clothes are out of the dryer?!!!
Yep! After losing socks each load, we decided to do delicate bags for each kid's socks. Now we dont lose them plus it saves time on separating them, and the kids can help pair them up and put them away.
Brittany love this video! The stocking full of baking soda with essential oil is great because you’re using things you have at home.. which saves you money... which is my jam!! Lol 👍
Yesterday I got my new LG washer and dryer and I’ve never been so excited to do laundry 🥰 they look beautiful !!! My son was first one to use it which was a miracle 😂 he never does laundry. Now I know I have to wipe it dry after each load to prevent mildew problems. After 18 yeas with same appliances I told my husband I wanted to upgrade and showed him your video 🥰 it was hard to decide but after looking and looking we decided this was the best for us. Thank you for your wonderful videos 💜🥰 Now I have to go and do some laundry 🧺😃💃🏻👚👕🎊
Why buy and do things because these YOutube characters do? What's wrong with people?! Your set was old because it probably was well made! Why just get a new one? You could have used that money to feed a neighborhood shelter for an entire month!! Ease people use your minds!!! Crass commercialism!! Why is everyone blindly following these UA-camrs? You don't even know her! Neither do I. I'm worry for this world we are creating. I wish you well.
Wendy Ward USN/ Combat RN she changed them after 18 years not after 2 years it's good to upgrade the machines after so much time because new ones keep less detergent, take less energy, take less water etc
I also want to point out an important maintenance tip for drum washer. My LG drum washer has a small "door" at the bottom left corner. If you open it there is a black tube. You need have a small bucket ready then pull the black tube, open the lid and let it pour out remaining water from the wash. After every wash cycle this is a must! This will prevent your washer smelling bad even after cleaning the interior. Hope you do this!
An Awesome Tip: I place thick rubber bands around the corners of the fitted sheet to keep smaller items from getting tangled inside it during the drying cycle.
I use the carpet cleaner "spot shot" as a pre-treater for any clothing stains. So far this has worked on every stain I've had. Even on a dye spill from dying Easter eggs!
, I understand what you’re saying. It’s all about the color!!! I just painted mine a light pink (it was a dark brown/green from previous owner) and it has helped so much! It’s enjoyable when the space is clean and pretty.
I used to have an issue with my husband gym clothes smelling cheesy after going through the wash. Now I wash with warm water and a cup of baking soda, no soaking or other detergent, and they come out so fresh. Super easy and cheap.
I started to use only 20% of the cap instead of filling it up. It works wonder. Smells better. I also use baby detergent for all things because they are more watery than the normal liquid detergent.
Yes, you can do it as treatment for stinks clothes or mildew odor clothes. Baking soda powder in the drawer soap when the machine is watering or inside with the clothes is a cold cycle. Vinegar in the conditioner drawer helps to brake down bacteria that hold bad smells and its is an eco substitute for conditioner. Sorry my English is a working in progress...
You always have the best tips! Everytime I watch one of your videos I feel like cleaning my whole apartment. Haha I also have been adding vinegar to my laundry for a while now. I use baking soda and vinegar for so many household tasks! They are lifesavers and I feel much better knowing I am using less chemicals.
Helen Monaghan Just to clarify I always use laundry detergent + baking soda and /or vinegar. I believe vinegar does the magic. Towels are super soft, like brand new.
Thanks. I used a turmeric face mask and the turmeric comes off but takes a little work leaving your hands stained. I rinsed it off the sink quickly so it wouldn't stain. Now I know the trick thanks to you.
Hey! Thanks for the tips. I'm from Jamaica and have a tip to share. Drying your clothes in the sun is effective. You can use dryer racks or pin them on a clothes line. This also helps to keep the colours in your clothes and saves you money since you won't have to use the dryer all the time.
We're not allowed to do that in our neighborhood. Homeowners Association rules. If everyone in America did this we would save lots of energy and clothes would last longer
My favorite tip for a white item w a difficult stain that won’t completely come out is dampen it & put it out in the sunshine! Many times the sun will “bleach “ the rest of the stain away. It works great w white canvas shoes too.
Yes Kathleen, very true. This is a tip my mother taught me many years ago. You can also put your white cutting boards and white Tupperware or other that have stains from tomatoes or any white/clear plastic, out in the sun for a day or two and they usually get all white again. The sun works like magic!
Thanks so much for the wonderful tips!! My go to tip for freshening up a garment that I would otherwise have to iron, is to throw a damp towel in with the garment and run on the dewrinkle cycle of the dryer (about 20 minutes)!!
You are more helpful than all the rest of the cleaning tip/tricks UA-camrs! You have a positive attitude without the obnoxious voice! I’m so happy I found your channel! I can actually make it through ur entire videos!! Appreciate you!!!
I use a clothes shaver to remove pills on fabric--available in the laundry & ironing board section of Walmart for under $20. Love these educational videos - thank you!
I have the same exact LG washer as you and when it was delivered I was told if I used vinegar in it, it voided the warranty. He said vinegar breaks down many inside parts. Thanks for so many other great tips!
True! Plus, baking soda and vinegar are not to be mixed because they neutralize each other (baking soda is a base and vinegar is acid). I use only specific products for washing machines.
I have an LG Washer and dryer as well. The first time I had the LG repair man come out (for a problem with water temps) he said white vinegar was great to use in the rinse cycle as a fabric softener and to help clothes rinse cleaner as well. So I’ve used white vinegar in the rinse cycle for 12 years now and never had a problem. I still use fabric softener occasionally (either liquid or dryer sheets) for extra softness but mainly for the fresh smell of the fabric softener. 😊
I have an LG washer and dryer set. I have always used white vinegar in the rinse cycle. It helps prevent laundry soap scum buildup and keeps the washer from smelling bad. It doesn’t hurt the washer.
I even turn my husbands work trousers and jumpers inside out, this is a hack that I've used for years! Thanks for all the others, especially the baking soda and essential oils one xxx
I love my LG washer and dryer! And I love your videos Brittany. Usually such pretty women are not relatable, but you are. That is a talent, and I know it is just you being you! One tip I have, maybe it is on your list, I do not dry my bras, my underwear, my leggings, my work out clothes. Yes, for 1 day my house has clothes hanging around (usually at night) but everything lasts longer and no shrinkage! I also wash my washer every 2 months, and keep the rubber gasket wiped down, wipe the sides and tops, etc. My laundry room is decorated with laundry antiques. Thank goodness we have modern appliances!
I tried removing pilling with a razor on my hoodie a long time ago and I guess I wasn't gentle enough. I ended up with a hole🤷 My personal tip is to take out the part you put detergent in after the cycle is done. I always find that it gets mouldy because it's wet and doesn't get ventilated. And of course keep the washer and drier doors open all the time! Great video❤️
Thank you so much for telling everyone how to make their towels fluffy. I've grown up knowing that fabric softeners are NOT TO BE ADDED TO TOWELS. They definitely dry better without fabric softener and with the baking soda and white vinegar, they do come out nice and fluffy!! I loved all your tips in this video. Wasn't sure I needed it but I'm glad I watched🙏😊🥰
That’s exactly what being adult is all about. Never thought I get so excited about ground appliances! My dryer broke and I was mortified! Sharing the laundry room down the hall… Slumming it LOL
I was also heavy handed with laundry detergent. I had a tech come over recently to check on my washer and dryer. And he also said to use a 1/3 at most. Blew my mind. I thought, More soap = cleaner clothes. But I was completely wrong. It’s funny how when you get older. It’s the little things in life, that keep u going. I’m literally excited to do laundry. Lol! 🧼🧺
I am soooo excited to watch this! Laundry is my thing girl! 💁🏼♀️ So I love hearing what everyone else does and get some new tips. Also....I am beyond thrilled to find out you have your own essential oils!!! YEESSS!! I’m all over that!! So glad you went the extra mile to ensure the quality! I am a firm believer in essential oils! ❤️
Love these hacks! Cool washer and dryer! Like your hanging lint bin! OMG - the socks 🧦 in the mesh bag, genius! Also, the hanger holder- I can’t even! Thanks Brittany!
Love your laundry hamper system👍🏻❤️ my laundry hack is keeping a weekly schedual so your always on top of your laundry. I normally wash six or seven loads a week. I start every thursday. Thursday : wash bedding Friday : towels Saturday : clothes Sunday : other loads Monday : folding and ironing and putting away. I have a empty hamper when i start every week. That makes me feel good☺️
It’s so true about cutting back on detergent. I used to use too much and my clothes would smell dirty after drying them. I cut back on the detergent and I don’t have that issue anymore. Great video!
Great advice Brittany. I have to say though I was always taught if your clothes are pilling it's because you're putting too many clothes in the washing machine and I have found this to be true. I'm not one to dress with trends, I've always been a jeans a T-shirt country girl and other than fading of the colors I have clothes I've had for 20 plus years. I understand a busy mother, believe me-mother of three myself, but larger loads make for serious pilling issues, been guilty too, but in the long run overly large loads cost tons of money AND extra time in making them look nice. Btw, appreciate the work you dedicate to your videos!
Good for LG to support and notice such an incredible UA-camr and person like you, Brittany! I’ll fully support LG and their products now! ... Thank you so much for your research on laundry and your tips!! I’ll be trying a lot of them! 👏🏻 ❤️❤️ 💐
I have a 3 bin laundry sorter on wheels, teach your kids when the are young to sort clothes!!!!! ( & pick up their wet towels!😉) Trust Me...I'm a Grama! Great Tips Brittany! So many have never been taught laundry "fundamentals".
I have a pop up laundry basket, with a delicates washing bag pegged in it, I use it only for knickers and tights. All my knickers are black for ease of washing. When it gets full enough the whole bag is thrown in the wash. Works well for me 👍🏻
I love the baking soda sachet hack! I did this today and put them in the bottom of the multiple diaper pails in my home! (2 under 2) and it's a game changer!
A good tip when putting your socks or anything small in mesh bags is to safety pin the zipper to the end corner of the mesh bag where the zipper ends so the bag won't unzip when you're washing or drying it. I've learned that the hard way when all of my mesh bags opened in the dryer. 👌🏾
Thank you so.much for all your tips and tricks, and sharing must haves. I've been doing laundry for years and years and I'm still learning different hacks. Love it
Great Video! We use half the recommended detergent for clothes and everything comes out lovely 😊 We water down fabric softener by 50%, air dry our clothes, wash clothes inside out, wear the clothes for longer (as long as they're fresh) and delay the wash to help them last longer. We keep out washing machine door and drawer open for 24 hours post wash to air out and leave them open a crack until used again. Washing liquid causes mould on seals so always use powder! Don't overload your machine and check the seals post wash for water or debris x
Brittany you are a life saver! Your razor hack for piling saved me money. It worked on trousers I had decided were ruined bc of their poor quality & also on my fitted bed sheets 😍😍 thank you so much!
Tamara Right?? At first I was like cool a video on laundry hacks for Lil ol me with an old washer then I was like oh, we'll shoot, if I had that awesome LG setup I wouldn't need any laundry hacks!! Lol
I so want a washer and dryer I can control with my smart phone. That's awesome! I'll need to try the tip for making my towels soft and fluffy. I never use fabric softener because it decreases their absorbability and this means they aren't so soft. Thanks for sharing! 💖💖💖
The power company tells you in their tips and newsletters that you can wash most laundry in cold water (to save on electricity needed to heat the water) and they get just as clean. Except sheets and underwear or baby clothes, I always wash in warm. Towels shouldn’t necessarily be too dirty anyway and when you dry them in the dryer, it’s hot enough to kill any leftover germs (if there were any).
I think a duvet this way. It's a small spot that looks damp. It definitely looks like an oil that caused the spot. I use the wool balls and essential oils but I'm more careful about which loads I use the oils on.
Good point! I wouldn’t have thought of that. I just throw a new dryer sheet in the laundry hamper every week and it works decent. Maybe not with gym clothes but normal things it works 😊
I love watching your videos I just want to say that a friend of mine years ago told me not to use fabric softener on my towels because that keeps them from being absorbent. I learned about using vinegar on my towels years later realizing that they would make them soft and fluffy and not staticy. So thank you for the little reminders, tons of advice and cool ideas you're just awesome!
Yvette Valadez Same here, I have used vinegar in place of FC for towels ( & all my washes in general ) for many years now.. I'm in Ireland & I can remember a few years ago, that tip was actually on the washing instructions label on the towels.. Ps another good tip is to launder all ur white clothes separately to keep them from becoming grey white..
You’re truly an inspiration..love your content and I’m learning so much watching your videos! Thank you so much for sharing all your tips and tricks! ❤️
I mix both color clothes and whites (except delicates and new clothing) and I always use the paper towels in order to prevent color transferring. I also wash towels apart from clothing. Great video as always. Greetings from Spain.
i have no money for that :D i live alone, if i would do it, i would spent so much money on only washing my clothes. i am happy that i wash my towels seperate and my sensitive clothes seperate.

i think a video course would be so much better. i wouldn’t read a book, i would only consume it if it’s an audio book.
Also to keep the Front Loading washer fresher, leave the door cracked open when not in use. Keeps mildew from growing.
Doesn't the light stay on if you do that ?

Thank you so much for telling everyone how to make their towels fluffy. I've grown up knowing that fabric softeners are NOT TO BE ADDED TO TOWELS. They definitely dry better without fabric softener and with the baking soda and white vinegar, they do come out nice and fluffy!! I loved all your tips in this video. Wasn't sure I needed it but I'm glad I watched🙏😊🥰
This washer tho 😍😍😍 is this what being adult is all about.. wishing for appliances 😅
That’s exactly what being adult is all about. Never thought I get so excited about ground appliances! My dryer broke and I was mortified! Sharing the laundry room down the hall… Slumming it LOL
Yes.
Yes!!!! Appliances become all the rage. That’s when you know you have become an adult officially!
I was also heavy handed with laundry detergent. I had a tech come over recently to check on my washer and dryer. And he also said to use a 1/3 at most. Blew my mind. I thought,
More soap = cleaner clothes. But I was completely wrong. It’s funny how when you get older. It’s the little things in life, that keep u going. I’m literally excited to do laundry. Lol! 🧼🧺
I love the extra hamper for donation clothing 😉
I am soooo excited to watch this! Laundry is my thing girl! 💁🏼♀️ So I love hearing what everyone else does and get some new tips. Also....I am beyond thrilled to find out you have your own essential oils!!! YEESSS!! I’m all over that!! So glad you went the extra mile to ensure the quality! I am a firm believer in essential oils! ❤️
Thank you for these tips! My favourite tip is to use the Colour Catcher sheets! They are honestly amazing!
Love these hacks! Cool washer and dryer! Like your hanging lint bin! OMG - the socks 🧦 in the mesh bag, genius! Also, the hanger holder- I can’t even! Thanks Brittany!
I just love doing laundry and will rarely let anyone else in the house touch the machine so these tips are great!
Love your laundry hamper system👍🏻❤️ my laundry hack is keeping a weekly schedual so your always on top of your laundry. I normally wash six or seven loads a week. I start every thursday.
Thursday : wash bedding
Friday : towels
Saturday : clothes
Sunday : other loads
Monday : folding and ironing and putting away.
I have a empty hamper when i start every week. That makes me feel good☺️
It’s so true about cutting back on detergent. I used to use too much and my clothes would smell dirty after drying them. I cut back on the detergent and I don’t have that issue anymore. Great video!
I have hard water..I am always adding more detergent. Hard water ruins everything. Time for a water softener.
Great tips! Thank you!! Little baking soda sockets. I love it! And getting hampers for everyone.
Good for LG to support and notice such an incredible UA-camr and person like you, Brittany! I’ll fully support LG and their products now! ... Thank you so much for your research on laundry and your tips!! I’ll be trying a lot of them! 👏🏻 ❤️❤️ 💐
She is wonderful, but honestly she could have paid for them herself. Would have been awesome if they gifted it to someone in need.
I love the LG machine that sanitize your clothes!!! How cool is that 🙌🏼
I have a 3 bin laundry sorter on wheels, teach your kids when the are young to sort clothes!!!!! ( & pick up their wet towels!😉) Trust Me...I'm a Grama! Great Tips Brittany! So many have never been taught laundry "fundamentals".
Prayon Kreutz I have one too. I love it for laundry day! Everything is already sorted out
I have a pop up laundry basket, with a delicates washing bag pegged in it, I use it only for knickers and tights.
😁😁😁
I’ve never heard of this dry towel in the dryer trick! I’m gonna try it now!!!!
I does work. It seems strange, but it's true!💕
Wendy Ward USN/ Combat RN yes it does
A good tip when putting your socks or anything small in mesh bags is to safety pin the zipper to the end corner of the mesh bag where the zipper ends so the bag won't unzip when you're washing or drying it. I've learned that the hard way when all of my mesh bags opened in the dryer. 👌🏾
Thank you!
As always, I love your videos and tips!
I also like to leave the washer door open for the drum to air-dry before the next cycle.
the special sock bag and the dry towel are GREAT tips - thank you!
You do live in laundry heaven. Perfect. I'm going to try the machine cleaning with baking soda, and vinegar.
There should be a “love” button on UA-cam as opposed to just a 👍🏾 and 👎🏽 I LOVE this video. Such useful tips!
Omg please do this laundry video again with more tips. Love it!
This makes me want a new washer and dryer!!
Definitely need to start turning my clothes inside out!!
Wow to get the laundry with all the equipment she has I would need a loan I think I’ll just keep what I have
Ikr! We can dream!
Those white folder hampers are only a dollar each at the dollar tree.
Kathy A, 😂 Me too!
No worries. It's good to at least have a waahing machine.
she has a brand deal so i’m sure she definitely got them a lot cheaper
Since 2011 when we found out my husband is allergic to fabric softener, I put a cup of vinegar during the wash cycle. It saves so much money!
Brittany you are a life saver!
Your razor hack for piling saved me money. It worked on trousers I had decided were ruined bc of their poor quality & also on my fitted bed sheets 😍😍 thank you so much!
I now use washing soda, my towels come out so much bigger and fluffy, good for odour too. Love your handy tips. Thanks Diana NZ
Me too. I get it at Lowes for 4.00. I put Vinegar in the fabric area. It works great
Hanger hanger- thank you! I need this! The hangers take up so much rod space.
I need that washer and dryer in my life! Mine are so small.
Pretty sure this is the BEST laundry video on UA-cam! Good job Brittany!
Love the dry towel hack! I never heard of it but it makes so much sense!❤
I thought so too!
Started doing this amazing results
I love the fragrance of essential oils, but will the oil substance transfer to the clothing and leave an oil stain?
Yes it does! Especially on synthetic fabrics such as nylon or polyester.
I think a duvet this way. It's a small spot that looks damp. It definitely looks like an oil that caused the spot. I use the wool balls and essential oils but I'm more careful about which loads I use the oils on.
Yes.... Learnt the hard way
It sure will!!
Good point! I wouldn’t have thought of that. I just throw a new dryer sheet in the laundry hamper every week and it works decent. Maybe not with gym clothes but normal things it works 😊
That lint bin is the exact kind of thing I was looking for about a year! I also need that hanger hanger in my life😁😁😁
Great hacks. So happy I got rid of my LG appliances and bought speed queens.
Yvette Valadez
Same here, I have used vinegar in place of FC for towels ( & all my washes in general ) for many years now..
I'm in Ireland & I can remember a few years ago, that tip was actually on the washing instructions label on the towels..
Ps another good tip is to launder all ur white clothes separately to keep them from becoming grey white..
😃😃😃
The Styler is so cool, I didn’t even know that existed!!
Just ordered some wool balls yesterday, I can’t wait to try them out with essential oils.
😁😁😁
You’re truly an inspiration..love your content and I’m learning so much watching your videos! Thank you so much for sharing all your tips and tricks! ❤️
I mix both color clothes and whites (except delicates and new clothing) and I always use the paper towels in order to prevent color transferring. I also wash towels apart from clothing. Great video as always. Greetings from Spain.
The mesh bag works for the socks.I do this now.Thankgoodness for this tip.
Is it wierd I'm watching this despite not having a laundry room? I have to go to the laundromat.
Same😆
Research for the future!
that's dedication thank you! I didn't have one until I was 30, i was always in apartments with communal laundry rooms
Not weird! I use a coin op downstairs! Plus some tips are applicable. In the future we can use more!☺️
on the bright side you dont have to spend all day doing one load at a time.
I don’t have time for lights/darks/colours, they all get washed together. I also wash everything on a cold wash to save money on hot water.
Loz 😂 same
Same. And let’s be honest I don’t think I even have enough lights to do a full load lmao
Sheesh I was all on cold too except whites, they go on hot water. Washing whites with darks makes whites gray. Has that ever happened with your stuff?
I used to be the same. Now im separate my whites lol
i have no money for that :D i live alone, if i would do it, i would spent so much money on only washing my clothes. i am happy that i wash my towels seperate and my sensitive clothes seperate.
Who would have known there is such a thing like a hat guard 🤔 I love all your videos btw 💕
MiskiSakura There was an infomercial for it back in the 90s 😆
That laundry room looks so beautiful...like you can relax while you clean
Wasn’t able your 8 cleaning rules, cause your next one laundry time and care hacks! Loved them both!
