legit think this is probably fleas greatest slap bass line. It’s slightly more intricate than can’t stop and dark necessities and slightly more intricate than Aeroplane
No it's not, BSSM was Flea's funk apex. He did do a couple of nice ones afterwards, but nothing compares to BSSM. Also, you need to practice more, your slap is sloppy ❤️
Most of BSSM was finger style with only two songs I think, with slap. This could possibly be more funky than the slap bass lines from BSSM. What do you think of the stuff before BSSM? Funkier or no funkier?
@@OMS111 Slap is not a definition of funk, it's complementary to the funk. To me BSSM was the reason to play bass, i learned the whole thing and still use it as warmup 20 years later. Earlier RHCP is good, but they where still searching, and you can really tell. What do you think about Wulfpeck? P.S: Musicman is really hard to slap, i've had three 5 string USA and two 4 string USA one of which was pre-eb. You should try an active jazz bass, it's more fluent for slap and funk.
@@TheCiubz My slap has went downhill mainly because i don't play it as much. When learning this i almost forgot how lol. A lot of people complain about the size of a stingray neck but it doesn't bother me, big hands. Been working on my finger style a lot recently over anything else. Vulfpeck are one of the best bands i've heard recently. I prefer their instrumental stuff over when they bring a singer in. I've been wanting to learn more of Joe Darts Basslines but just haven't got round to it. They are one of the reasons i've started using flat wound strings. What do you think of The chilis new album?
His best funk line since years.
Flea nunca deixa passar em branco. Os outros membros tem seus altos e baixos mas Flea tá sempre no seu ápice.
That’s one funky bass line!!
The verses and the bassline is straight outta mother’s milk. Chorus more like their later material.
Agreed
Great performance! sounds cool!!!
This is flea’s bass line of all time!
Lol
Definitely a moment
Very nice line

Is this Fleas Funkiest Bass Line since sliced bread?

Airplane very good slap time. I'll try sort the blur out for next video 😉
@@OMS111 I am a guitarist but I want to learn bass just for slap😄
@@Clarckson811 Ive heard worse reasons to learn bass lol. Have you tried slapping on the guitar?
@@OMS111 now that's genius. I'll try that😂
@@Clarckson811 I predict a lot of guitar strings will be snapped 😂. Will be worth it tho

Funky monks outro is very funky. But I dunno, this is quite funky like
