One of the meanings of Holy Spirit in Latin is breath and fire. Just think on the day of Pentecost the Bible says, “There came a sound of a rushing mighty wind and tongues of fire descended upon them.” The rushing mighty wind was His Breath and the fire.......the tongues of fire. There you have it. The Holy Spirt! God”s Word is alive and what a beautiful video to make about the Holy Spirit!

The Holy Spirit has been illustrated as a Dove, also in Wine, and Anointing Oil, also Water, The Cloud is used as a symbol of The Holy Spirit, our Bodies are The Temple of the Holy Spirit and Fire and Wind as you mentioned, but then there's The Holy Spirit Himself, The 3rd Person of The Blessed Trinity. In my experience, with my return to the Catholic Church, the Holy Spirit made me want to defend our Lord, Jesus Christ, and to be a “soldier of Christ” fearlessly. I am proud of my religion, and it’s infinite graces from the Triune God, our Lady, and all the Saints. Courage, fortitude, prudence and humility abound in my soul thanks to the Holy Spirit’s fire 🔥! We must preach the word. But most important of all we must heed the advice of St. Francis...preach thr Gospel always, using words only when necessary. Abide in His words and He will abide in us. People seem to always question whether there is a heaven or a hell. They do not want to believe that such a loving God would send us there! Wake up people! More than ever we need the power of the Holy Spirit! Pope Benedict loved to pray in a vineyard which had a beautiful statue of the Sacred Heart. I pray that the Holy Spirit encourages our youth to plant a new vineyard and renew the face of the Earth!

I can almost feel the joy the 3 wise men must've felt when they fell to their knees after first laying their eyes on baby Jesus. Also , just the feeling of Grace permeating throughout the manger.
Can you imagine Fr that when the Magi set out to follow the star, that this was all preordained before the existence of the Universe, God had set His plan for the convergence of the planet's and the birth of His Son before the planet were made. How Majestic is Our Creator there are no words. Amen.
I LOVE the deep hinden things of God. Luke 8:17 "For nothing is secret that will not be revealed nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light." So based on The Holy Scripture that is found in John 16:12 "I have many more things to tell you, but you cannot bear them now. But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all Truth, for He will not speak on His own but whatever He hears, He will speak, and He will show you things to come, He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and we'll show it to you. I wasn't able to finish watching it so when I went back I couldn't find it, today I also looked for it with no luck. My question is what happened, is this true and why? Priests are subject to their superiors. Even St. Padre Pio, despite his popularity, when commanded by his superiors to lay low, he did so. Our Lord Jesus said to St. Faustina, "Always depend upon your superiors, even in the smallest things." "Observe the rule as faithfully as you can." Obedience can sometimes make people feel uncomfortable but it is one of our virtues. Obedience is trusting God and His will.
I think God gave us a great gift, we all know what rights and whats wrong. The closer we try to get to God the easier it is to tell what path to take. Like when someone lets you in front of them inline and you didn't do that you pushed your way to the front.

Well kneaded words of Hope Father Mark!! Sometimes life gets us down to the point where we lose hope and we cry out to God to send us his holy spirit to Lift Us and strengthen us to endure whatever the problems may be until the storm has passed!! The holy spirit is truly our helper and our strengthener!! Father Mark I need to ask you if you are aware of this fairly new religious group called the last Reformation? They're all over the place and the main guy is healing everybody just by touching them and many people are beginning to follow them because they base their whole Ministry on the book of Acts which as you know reveals to us the Miracles the apostles performed after they were sent out on their missions! And this group believes that every single person should be a disciple who travels around and being filled with the Holy Spirit just healing people and oh by the way, they insist that you get re-baptized in a tub of water or a lake because they claim that are original baptism as a baby was just a baptism of water but they claim that we must be baptized by the spirit ie... submerging the whole person into a big tub of water and when they are done baptizing and they speak in tongues then they all go out and perform miracles and there are many videos on UA-cam about these people and I know people who are seriously thinking of joining them and I've watched some of the videos and they just creep me out because I don't know it just don't seem right. what might your idea about these people be?

Sunday homily at my parish. Christ's Baptism in the Jordan resulted in his engaging with the world. That is the expectation of mature faith. Not part of the homily was the Baptist pointing to the One who would baptize with the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit who gives us the Power to engage with the world.
But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. John 14:26 / This has worked in my life so much since becoming Catholic! We really can't live the Christian life without the 3rd person of the Holy Trinity!
A priest in our parish advised us that the feast of the Epiphany is Christ’s first manifestation, then His Baptism and then His Transfiguration. I read at NCR online: The words that the minister says at a baptism are, "Just as Jesus was anointed priest, prophet, and king, so may you live always as a member of his body sharing everlasting life." Think about what that means. Each one of us at our baptism was anointed like Jesus as priest, prophet, and king. Those are the roles that we are to carry out then in following Jesus. We have this understanding, I think most of us, that the priest is the one who stands at the altar and through certain words and signs performs religious rights. But all of us in our baptism share in the priesthood of Jesus. So dilemma, are some people right in calling Pope Francis and Gretta prophets?
Father, I would like you to address betrayal.. betrayal of people you work with, people that have conspired against you and caused you to be terminated from a job. For no reason but they are not in alignment with my morals. These women hurt me with there belitting and harsh treatment and I suffer everyday as I cannot find a job..they just were mean and selfish women!
Father, speaking of the Holy Spirit! I attended a pre-confirmation class at my local parish for my daughter. In discussion of the Creed and the Holy Spirit working through prophets in the old testament the example of modern day prophets was said to be found with Bono, Gretta Thunberg, Pope Francis, just to name a few. I was immediately very unhappy with this. What are your thoughts?
What? Modern prophete can be any Catholic whom the LORD appointed : with our baptism we are made : priest, prophet and king? What does that mean. You think it is just symbolic?
@@abbaabba8978 interesting... No do not think it is symbolic! That is something that I did not hear been discussed in the class. They just went from old Testament prophets to Bono and Gretta. And as someone said Bono supported the repeal of the 8th amendment in Ireland which allowed for abortion. So I don't feel it right to include Bono as a good prophet!
U need to watch your diet first,some food and/or medication can cause anxiety and worse. then find out the reason ur anxious, open up to pro counselling maybe better to a "wise "confessor. Let it all out. Many claim that confession cure lots of problems and sometimes diseases! U can try it ,u ve got nothing to lose .first u must find a priest you think u can pour ur heart out to him 😇 preferably someone who doesn t know you or maybe he does, it depends. Unlike"some" psy, catholic priests are forbidden ,under any circumstances, to break the sacred seal of confession, if he does he will be subject to excommunication from the church.
U know something, charismatic priests (a special gift ,not related to wordly charisma ) are better at detecting penitents problems than others, of course it s not a general rule. [As I was told]
Who is the Holy Spirit? But the first big question is WHO IS INSIDE JESUS ? Well, we are absolutely sure that THE FATHER IS INSIDE JESUS AND LEADS HIM VERY TIGHTLY when speaking and acting : (1) "Truly, truly I say to you, THE SON IS NOT ABLE TO DO ANYTHING of himself,45 but ONLY WHAT HE SEES THE FATHER DOING; for whatever things that One does, THESE THINGS ALSO THE SON DOES LIKEWISE. (2) "When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will find out that I am he, and OF MYSELF I DO NOTHING, but rather EXACTLY AS THE FATHER HAS TAUGHT ME, THOSE THINGS I SPEAK. 29And the one who sent me IS CONTINUALLY WITH ME. HE HAS NOT LEFT ME ALONE, because I always do the things pleasing to him." (3) "49 FOR I FROM MYSELF HAVE NOT SPOKEN; rather, the Father who sent me, he has given me COMMANDMENT, WHAT I SHOULD SAY, and HOW I SHOULD SPEAK. 50And I know, that his commandment means eternal life. Therefore, WHAT THINGS I SPEAK, JUST AS THE FATHER HAS SAID THEM TO ME, I SPEAK THEM JUST SO." (4) "The statements which I say to you I do NOT SPEAK FROM MYSELF, BUT THE FATHER ABIDING IN ME IS DOING HIS WORKS." .......... Is ANYONE ELSE there, inside Jesus to lead Him? Of course not: from the above verses we see that Jesus is VERY TIGHTLY LED by the Father, "continually". Further, no one else is there "...He has not left me ALONE..." i.e. you have just the Father with the Son, period. Thus, no place is left inside Jesus, how can one explain that He is filled and led by the Holy Spirit? (5) "FILLED with the Holy Spirit, Jesus returned from Jordan and was LED BY THE SPIRIT into the wilderness."..... Well, with those verses (1)-(4) Jesus reveals that the HOLY SPIRIT inside Him IS THE FATHER. This means that the Father is supposed to be a spirit. Indeed, we find confirmation that the Father is a spirit "God is a spirit". Not only in Jesus, exactly the same kind of relief - by the Father - when speaking - also occurs inside the disciples: "because it is not ye that will speak, but the SPIRIT OF YOUR FATHER...". However, you can notice there that the term "SPIRIT" is used instead. Well, confusion arises because Jesus has the "Father who is a spirit" and calls Him sometimes "FATHER" (generally when Himself is concerned), sometimes "SPIRIT" (of God, Holy, of the Father...) when other people are concerned (see the apostles above). But they are just TWO NAMES for the SAME ONE SPIRIT: THE FATHER. No further "omnipotent spirit Lord who gives life" exists: it's an invention. But this was obvious: for example the Devil could be INSIDE you, trying - UNNOTICED as much as possible - to steer your mind and to convince you do something. Well, God is no less, He is able to perform that action too! If God is inside you, trying to lead you, then the HOLY SPIRIT IS IN YOU. Thus, "blasphemy against the Holy Spirit" is SYNONYM of "blasphemy against the Father". No one has been FORGOTTEN there: just TWO blasphemies are possible, one against the Father and one against the Son! This also means that when Jesus was baptized, simply the Holy Spirit - i.e. the Father who is a spirit - SAID "...you are my beloved Son...". Just the Father and the Son were there, TWO ! No one else exists "I am not ALONE because the Father is with me". The "omnipotent spirit Lord giver of life" is thus just an invention. The Father is now ONLY ACTIVE in His "Spirit form" (see for example the Holy Spirit and Mary's pregnancy), but He also existed in His "normal form" (see "the Father" of the baptismal formula). God existed in his "normal form" ONLY BEFORE the birth of the universe "Righteous Father, the world has not known you..." this is why "No one has ever seen God..." and why Jesus inherited the kingdom of God "The Father loves the Son and has given him all things into his hand." . God who dwells in that remote past is thus the SOURCE of the "Spirit of God". The Spirit of God proceeds from the Father and acts here. But He is just a God's ATTRIBUTE, not someone else. God is just made by the Father and the Son.
So why the church doesn't pray for people to receive the holy spirit? We should have prayer session just like when the apostle where praying during the pentecost. But unfortunately we have to get to a charismatic group or look up ourselves in the website like this to even know about the gift of the holy spirit! Sad
We received the Holy Spirit at confirmation. But Catholic Charismatic events/prayer meetings are a great place to go for a stirring of the spirit! Will be one a women's Catholic Charismatic retreat with Fr Goring next weekend!!
@@dopeyrn1 yet it is not manifeste that why is important to have praying meeting to ask the LORD for the outpouring of the HOLY SPIRIT . The more we ask the more we see it manifest. Somepeople received individually in their room or whethever that happens, but it should be taught to the all church as important as the EUCHARIST is taught. I always says that the bible is not resume into EUCHARIST or the the HOLY SPIRIT, or just THE ROSARY. there is so much to learn. But catholic just have to seek themselves. Unfortunately some of us are weak. Or just dont know where to start. Especially if nonody introduced you to Catholicism. You have to dig up yourself and there is so much distraction nowadays, so before one get a chance to really know their faith, one is already dragged by another church. I know we are supposed to be the main responsible on how to grow in our faith. But if the church doesn't even suggest, it make it complicated. But anyway glad to heard that at least you have a charismatic group in your parish. Unfortunately There are not many charismatic groups in the catholic church. ( that is another debate)

But if we don't allow the SPIRIT OF GOD to move by doing special gathering in the Church, It will never manifest or help the BODY OF CHRIST the way it is meant to be. What I'm writing is by no means Church teaching; it is merely my opinion. I read long ago that the Jews took the idea of eternal hell...never mentioned in their writings but already a belief among many at the time of Christ...from the Zoroastrians of present-day Iran or Persia. Many believe that the three wise men were Zoroastrians. As I understand it, unlike other pagans who worshiped man-made images, Zoroastrians worshiped the sun and light. The sun is at least a wonderful thing created by God.

The presumption that since one belongs to the "right" group puts one in favor with God is what caused the eternal downfall of the Pharisees. And get this: they DID belong to the right group! God's Divine Revelation to them merely increased their guilt (Matt. 11:20-24 & Luke 12: 48). God want's personal holiness and personal holiness alone. Keeping in mind the three wise men, read Matthew 8:10-12 and make sure you have repented of all sin. Daily scripture reading helps more than you know.

More than ever we need the power of the Holy Spirit! Pope Benedict loved to pray in a vineyard which had a beautiful statue of the Sacred Heart. I pray that the Holy Spirit encourages our youth to plant a new vineyard and renew the face of the Earth!

I can almost feel the joy the 3 wise men must've felt when they fell to their knees after first laying their eyes on baby Jesus. Also , just the feeling of Grace permeating throughout the manger.

Priests are subject to their superiors. Even St. Padre Pio, despite his popularity, when commanded by his superiors to lay low, he did so. Our Lord Jesus said to St. Faustina, "Always depend upon your superiors, even in the smallest things." "Observe the rule as faithfully as you can." Obedience can sometimes make people feel uncomfortable but it is one of our virtues. Obedience is trusting God and His will.

Sometimes life gets us down to the point where we lose hope and we cry out to God to send us his holy spirit to Lift Us and strengthen us to endure whatever the problems may be until the storm has passed!! The holy spirit is truly our helper and our strengthener!!
Father Mark I need to ask you if you are aware of this fairly new religious group called the last Reformation? They're all over the place and the main guy is healing everybody just by touching them and many people are beginning to follow them because they base their whole Ministry on the book of Acts which as you know reveals to us the Miracles the apostles performed after they were sent out on their missions! And this group believes that every single person should be a disciple who travels around and being filled with the Holy Spirit just healing people and oh by the way, they insist that you get re-baptized in a tub of water or a lake because they claim that are original baptism as a baby was just a baptism of water but they claim that we must be baptized by the spirit ie... submerging the whole person into a big tub of water and when they are done baptizing and they speak in tongues then they all go out and perform miracles and there are many videos on UA-cam about these people and I know people who are seriously thinking of joining them and I've watched some of the videos and they just creep me out because I don't know it just don't seem right. what might your idea about these people be?

Sunday homily at my parish. Christ's Baptism in the Jordan resulted in his engaging with the world. That is the expectation of mature faith. Not part of the homily was the Baptist pointing to the One who would baptize with the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit who gives us the Power to engage with the world.

A priest in our parish advised us that the feast of the Epiphany is Christ’s first manifestation, then His Baptism and then His Transfiguration. I read at NCR online: The words that the minister says at a baptism are, "Just as Jesus was anointed priest, prophet, and king, so may you live always as a member of his body sharing everlasting life." Think about what that means.
Each one of us at our baptism was anointed like Jesus as priest, prophet, and king. Those are the roles that we are to carry out then in following Jesus. We have this understanding, I think most of us, that the priest is the one who stands at the altar and through certain words and signs performs religious rights. But all of us in our baptism share in the priesthood of Jesus.
So dilemma, are some people right in calling Pope Francis and Gretta prophets?

Father, I would like you to address betrayal.. betrayal of people you work with, people that have conspired against you and caused you to be terminated from a job. For no reason but they are not in alignment with my morals. These women hurt me with there belitting and harsh treatment and I suffer everyday as I cannot find a job..they just were mean and selfish women!

Father, speaking of the Holy Spirit! I attended a pre-confirmation class at my local parish for my daughter. In discussion of the Creed and the Holy Spirit working through prophets in the old testament the example of modern day prophets was said to be found with Bono, Gretta Thunberg, Pope Francis, just to name a few. I was immediately very unhappy with this. What are your thoughts?
I would be unhappy with that too. True modern day prophets are Padre Pio Mother Teresa St Maximillian Kolbe Mother Angelica to name but a few.

@@abbaabba8978 interesting... No do not think it is symbolic! That is something that I did not hear been discussed in the class. They just went from old Testament prophets to Bono and Gretta. And as someone said Bono supported the repeal of the 8th amendment in Ireland which allowed for abortion. So I don't feel it right to include Bono as a good prophet!
Can the Holy Spirit cure my anxiety?
U need to watch your diet first,some food and/or medication can cause anxiety and worse. then find out the reason ur anxious, open up to pro counselling maybe better to a
"wise "confessor. Let it all out. Many claim that confession cure lots of problems and sometimes diseases!
U can try it ,u ve got nothing to lose .first u must find a priest you think u can pour ur heart out to him 😇 preferably someone who doesn t know you or maybe he does, it depends.
Unlike"some" psy, catholic priests are forbidden ,under any circumstances, to break the sacred seal of confession, if he does he will be subject to excommunication from the church.
U know something, charismatic priests (a special gift ,not related to wordly charisma ) are better at detecting penitents problems than others, of course it s not a general rule.

Who is the Holy Spirit? But the first big question is WHO IS INSIDE JESUS ? Well, we are absolutely sure that THE FATHER IS INSIDE JESUS AND LEADS HIM VERY TIGHTLY when speaking and acting :

"Truly, truly I say to you, THE SON IS NOT ABLE TO DO ANYTHING of himself,45 but ONLY WHAT HE SEES THE FATHER DOING; for whatever things that One does, THESE THINGS ALSO THE SON DOES LIKEWISE.

"When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will find out that I am he,
and OF MYSELF I DO NOTHING, but rather EXACTLY AS THE FATHER HAS TAUGHT ME, THOSE THINGS I SPEAK. 29And the one who sent me IS CONTINUALLY WITH ME. HE HAS NOT LEFT ME ALONE, because I always do the things pleasing to him."

Is ANYONE ELSE there, inside Jesus to lead Him? Of course not: from the above verses we see that Jesus is VERY TIGHTLY LED by the Father, "continually". Further, no one else is there "...He has not left me ALONE..." i.e. you have just the Father with the Son, period. Thus, no place is left inside Jesus, how can one explain that He is filled and led by the Holy Spirit?
(5) "FILLED with the Holy Spirit, Jesus returned from Jordan and was LED BY THE SPIRIT into the wilderness.".....
Well, with those verses (1)-(4) Jesus reveals that the HOLY SPIRIT inside Him IS THE FATHER. This means that the Father is supposed to be a spirit. Indeed, we find confirmation that the Father is a spirit "God is a spirit". Not only in Jesus, exactly the same kind of relief - by the Father - when speaking - also occurs inside the disciples: "because it is not ye that will speak, but the SPIRIT OF YOUR FATHER...". However, you can notice there that the term "SPIRIT" is used instead.
Well, confusion arises because Jesus has the "Father who is a spirit" and calls Him sometimes "FATHER" (generally when Himself is concerned), sometimes "SPIRIT" (of God, Holy, of the Father...) when other people are concerned (see the apostles above). But they are just TWO NAMES for the SAME ONE SPIRIT: THE FATHER. No further "omnipotent spirit Lord who gives life" exists: it's an invention. But this was obvious: for example the Devil could be INSIDE you, trying - UNNOTICED as much as possible - to steer your mind and to convince you do something. Well, God is no less, He is able to perform that action too! If God is inside you, trying to lead you, then the HOLY SPIRIT IS IN YOU.
Thus, "blasphemy against the Holy Spirit" is SYNONYM of "blasphemy against the Father". No one has been FORGOTTEN there: just TWO blasphemies are possible, one against the Father and one against the Son! This also means that when Jesus was baptized, simply the Holy Spirit - i.e. the Father who is a spirit - SAID "...you are my beloved Son...". Just the Father and the Son were there, TWO ! No one else exists "I am not ALONE because the Father is with me". The "omnipotent spirit Lord giver of life" is thus just an invention.
The Father is now ONLY ACTIVE in His "Spirit form" (see for example the Holy Spirit and Mary's pregnancy), but He also existed in His "normal form" (see "the Father" of the baptismal formula). God existed in his "normal form" ONLY BEFORE the birth of the universe "Righteous Father, the world has not known you..." this is why "No one has ever seen God..." and why Jesus inherited the kingdom of God "The Father loves the Son and has given him all things into his hand." . God who dwells in that remote past is thus the SOURCE of the "Spirit of God". The Spirit of God proceeds from the Father and acts here. But He is just a God's ATTRIBUTE, not someone else. God is just made by the Father and the Son.
So why the church doesn't pray for people to receive the holy spirit? We should have prayer session just like when the apostle where praying during the pentecost. But unfortunately we have to get to a charismatic group or look up ourselves in the website like this to even know about the gift of the holy spirit! Sad
We received the Holy Spirit at confirmation. But Catholic Charismatic events/prayer meetings are a great place to go for a stirring of the spirit! Will be one a women's Catholic Charismatic retreat with Fr Goring next weekend!!
@@dopeyrn1 yet it is not manifeste that why is important to have praying meeting to ask the LORD for the outpouring of the HOLY SPIRIT . The more we ask the more we see it manifest.
Somepeople received individually in their room or whethever that happens, but it should be taught to the all church as important as the EUCHARIST is taught.
I always says that the bible is not resume into EUCHARIST or the the HOLY SPIRIT, or just THE ROSARY. there is so much to learn. But catholic just have to seek themselves. Unfortunately some of us are weak. Or just dont know where to start. Especially if nonody introduced you to Catholicism. You have to dig up yourself and there is so much distraction nowadays, so before one get a chance to really know their faith, one is already dragged by another church.
I know we are supposed to be the main responsible on how to grow in our faith.
But if the church doesn't even suggest, it make it complicated.

What I'm writing is by no means Church teaching; it is merely my opinion. I read long ago that the Jews took the idea of eternal hell...never mentioned in their writings but already a belief among many at the time of Christ...from the Zoroastrians of present-day Iran or Persia. Many believe that the three wise men were Zoroastrians. As I understand it, unlike other pagans who worshiped man-made images, Zoroastrians worshiped the sun and light. The sun is at least a wonderful thing created by God.

The presumption that since one belongs to the "right" group puts one in favor with God is what caused the eternal downfall of the Pharisees. And get this: they DID belong to the right group! God's Divine Revelation to them merely increased their guilt (Matt. 11:20-24 & Luke 12: 48).
God want's personal holiness and personal holiness alone. Keeping in mind the three wise men, read Matthew 8:10-12 and make sure you have repented of all sin. Daily scripture reading helps more than you know.
