Fantastic pen. I got this thanks to you for Christmas. Mine came in the frosted plastic box. The pen feels and looks amazing. The line thickness is just right, not too thin (like the m2) and really looking forward to eye drop it soon.

Great review. I am definitely in love with this pen. Didn't put grease silicone either! It works perfectly and the nib is a step up if you compare with other Moonmans (or Moonmen, LOL) that I have. My nib came aligned with the flat top, so no turning needed here. Nib is clearly on the M side, rather than on the F: it is wet and delivers more ink than a normal Chinese F nib.
The mini moonman are also pretty cool. You twist the lid on the end to make it longer and less awkward to use. And they are less expensive than the normal sized ones. The EF are even cheaper!
It is on the way... and for less than 20 euros with box. I have seen 2 reviews here and they both say the nib is top notch! Looking forward to receiving and cheking!
I got 2 of these because I haven’t owned or used an eye dropper pen before. I didn’t get any fancy packaging with mine , just a plastic packet with bubble wrap. Used some silicone grease . Nib and pen is very nice to write with.
The chinese make great pens and i think the Jinhao's are so freaking awesome for the 4 bucks and feel so premium. I got a M2 on the way and will try to hunt down a C2 in the future because i love clear pens :)

I'm using Thorton's turquoise in it and it's doing just fine. The flat sides on the body and cap don't perfectly line up on mine, at least not without torquing it uncomfortably tight, but it's close enough.

The only problem I have with moonman is their lack of contoured grip sections. A nice contoured grip would be the only thing keeping my s3 from being a really top favorite.

Pens which are designed for eye dropper do not need silicon grease. For size comparison I think you should always keep a lamy safari or the metropolitan... Helps to scale the pen in our mind. Not everyone has moonman pens.
I agree that is why I brought up about not using silicone grease on these pens. I do not silicone grease much Chinese eydroppers that have the o ring. There are some pens that benefit from silicone, but this is not one.

Any idea what sized o ring should I get to replace it? Also, my converter looks like it's a bit crooked inside, but it's seated properly and writes properly :))
I have seen o ring kits at the hardware store for about 5 bucks before. You may also try and take the o ring with you and ask if someone can help you find one
Honestly, I have not greased any of my Chinese eyedropper and have not had any burping issues. I know that everyone has their own way of doing it, but I will say that the moonman pens seal up really nice because of the design and the location of the o ring.
I just got this pen, it does not write very well.sometimes it’ll start working amazingly for like one sentence then go back to not flowing consistently. not sure if I got a bad pen or if I need to fiddle with the nib somehow? This is my first fountain pen, I’ve only had dip pens. :(
Hi: will these pens that you show ( including the wooden one ) in the video accept international cartridges ? Really like the wooden one you show and thinking of getting one but just want to be sure my short international cartridges will work. Nice video....
@@wwbdwwbd well there are quite a lot of nib brands in India. Kanwrite, ambitious, wality, camlin. And their nibs are distinguishable from one another. Chinese manufacturers do not seem to use that type of nib. I am not sure but Indian fountain pen manufacturers did make their own nibs. And I think they still do.

It's a great pen! Shop around for it as I have seen it for sale in the low $20's on a few sellers.

I have noticed over time that the flat side of mine does not always line up perfectly either.

Mine came with a pristine writing nib as well. Just ordered penbbs 456 as my second Chinese pen. Let’s see how that turns out.
You will like the 456. Try to get one with a medium nib if you can, but either way the pen is excellent!

The m2 section is not narrower, but the pen is uncomfortable because there's not enough to grab at the end in the web of the thumb/index

You may have to try a couple of different o rings. I have not heard of anyone else having this issue.

You should probably grease the threads, if only to prevent any burping issue that may arise from the minute air leakage caused by un-greased threads.

It has not had any leaking problems. Any if the moonman pens that I have eyedropper have not had any leaking problems.
Seriously, compare this to the Franklin Christoph model 66... it seems it compares very favorably.

They should work. I dont ever use cartridges, but from what I can tell the converter seems to be a standard international

No burping issues whatsoever. I honestly have not had any burping issues with any of the Chinese pens that I have eyedropper.
My Pilot Non Self Filler has never burped.
