Piss poor differences between the Active Watch 2 and the Galaxy Watch 3. Samsung wants to be another Apple but there is such a small difference between both. We aren't iSheep!
My girlfriend got it for me for my birthday last week, I love it, I had the gear s3 frontier before that..I love both but the active 2 is more beautiful...
I just purchased a active 2 "RENEWED" on Amazon for 200 dollars !! Very happy with it also just got a tizen updated 40.08 hoping I'll also get the new update soob.
I love mine too as well, performance wise, but the weight of it, it's something I never managed to get used to, coming from using Fitbit Ionic for a few years. This 3rd rendition actually did well with the weight, I think it's almost half the weight of the original, and you can tell. Looking forward for it to come down in price, so I can grab one.
I have the original galaxy watch and have no complaints, battery is phenomenal. Was looking to see which one to get for my wife, and I'm thinking the smaller version of the galaxy watch is probably still the best way to go, so she can have the rotating bezel and longer battery. Battery life is one of the top priorities in a smart watch, and at those costs it just makes even more sense. I'm very disappointed in the bands on the two new watches. You have to replace the genuine leather band day 1 with the new watch 3, I can promise you that leather is going to peel and deface itself in just a couple days. The silicone band the Galaxy watch comes with is top tier, and I like to way it flares out to smoothen the look as it meets the watch. I'm also concerned about the glass scratching on the Watch 2. The rotating bezels do more than just provide a useful way to navigate - they are actually slightly higher than the watch glass, which protects the watch glass from getting hit or scratched from most impacts. I worry the watch 2 screen won't fare so well without this protection
It seems everyone is forgetting that the Active 2 was suppose to have ECG and fall detection. The same as watch 3. Now they act like these are new features, but were promised b4 and they haven’t delivered yet. No way would I buy another Samsung watch with promised features until they are present and working
Thank you so much for your review! You saved me quite a bit of money. I had the galaxy watch 3 in my online best buy cart, watched your video, cleared the cart, went to best buy and bought the original galaxy watch. The bezel was a must, so it was between 1 & 3 for me. After watching your video, I realized that they are almost identical! The 1 is even bigger with a longer battery life?? How did they down grade?? Thank you!!
The screen on the 1 is actually smaller and keep in mind the 2 has a bezel on the touch screen, it's just not a physical bevel. He seemed to imply it wasn't there, but I think he meant it isn't there physically.

Being a senior citizen and having some issues with my thumb, index finger on the right hand, I replaced the watchband with a metal expandable, it's AWESOME! It holds on my wrist tightly but not to tight. Before this I owned the original Galaxy Watch, 46mm. On that watch, the rotatable bezel JAMMED, I couldn't move it! The Active 2 does have a touch bezel however. So I got the Active 2 without it and prefer this. The Active 2 is capable of performing an ECG as well as showing heart rate and such. That's real important for me since I narrowly avoided a SERIOUS heart issue and had open heart surgery. The Active 2 was what alerted me in enough time to get the problem taken care of. One thing I have noticed however is that the original Galaxy watch ran 3-days before needing charging, wheras the Active 2 barely gets 2. Quite a difference! My Active 2 was recently upgraded to Tizen 5.0 but I have noticed a noticeable drop in charge longevity however. I do like this Galaxy Active 2 better because it doesn't have the jamming rotatable bezel but the virtual one and I can do an ECG on my heart. Also, the NFC range is better, with the original Galaxy watch it was sometimes difficult to get Samsung Pay to activate on many paypoints, not with the Active 2.

OG Galaxy for me... 475mah ~3 day battery, $230. I like its looks best too. 1.5 day battery?... I expect better from a Samsung. Excellent review Chigz!!
I sometimes get 4 days on my OG w/LTE depending on calls and watching UA-cam videos. I couldn't imagine forgetting to charge overnight on a workday with the other watches. The OG is more classy for the office dress environment. The power user! I don't need all the health info, just phone, email, text, calendar, weather, YT, Google Voice, and browser.
Thanks for quicky helping me decide to keep recent buy. I went with aluminium active 2 w/ BT. This is my first feature packed watch (fitbit charge 2 was a joke) So much to learn. Keep up the good work!
Hi Chigz, thank you for making this great video. I have the original galaxy watch 46 mm. Does 46 mm same hardware, sensors like active 2 and galaxy watch3? I am asking to see if there is any possibility to receive ekg, blood pressure on galaxy watch. Thank you
I've had the Gear Sport, Galaxy Watch and now the Active2. My fav by far is the Active2. I'm a small female so the slimmer profile works better for me. I keep a screen protector in it and currently have the spigen liquid air armor design. My watch looks brand new and I've had it nearly a year. My Galaxy Watch that my husband uses always has a screen protector and side protection so that also looks pretty new, even though it's two years old.
I have the Watch 3. Surprisingly the battery lasts me 3 days. I also wear it to track my sleep. I agree it is overpriced. I would able to get Active 2 LTE or Galaxy Watch 1 LTE with half of the price.
Not many speak of the 42mm version. Still gets 4 days battery and looks better than all of these 3 watches. Also it's the cheapest of then all at 250 right now in Canada.
4 me, the gear S3 frontier was the best looking wearable ever to have been released! Samsung worked with Swiss watch makers and it was clearly seen in the product! Mine still works like a champ, not lagging even once, my only gripe is that the haptics is weak, not that weak but a little stronger would be great. I still hail it as the king 👑 if all smartwatches!
Original Galaxy watch is still Samsung’s best smartwatch, it’s a classic masterpiece which will never get old and it gives you the same performance as the latest model but with a better battery life and the original Galaxy watch is now cheaper, so yes go for it, you will not be disappointed.
Dude look at the specs, same cpu on all the watches and the galaxy watch actually have a bigger battery. The newer watches have very small upgrades, if you want a smartwatch, get the galaxy watch or wait until the newer releases have substantial upgrades.
Original GearS3,Galaxy watch,&Active 2 are all nice. the new Galaxy watch3 is a little different but still looks good and would be a great to add to the collection. I have the first three mentioned and still thinking about getting the new one.
As a quite an active person I am an easy sell for 2. It was quite disappointing to find out that spo2 and vo2max are only featured on 3 Why....? Those are very important training measurements. I can't think of people wearing the size of 3 (forget about leather strap) and go training on a daily basis...
@@adixar that's what I am doing. I've been using Xiaomi's mi bands and been on the lookout for the right watch. Samsung watch active 2 almost won me over. Have to keep looking.
Great review! Well done. The Watch 3 in Canada is $599. Much too expensive. I was waiting to buy the new 3, but at that price, no way! I'll likely buy the original Watch and save myself about $400.
Samsung is trying to match Apple as the leading 2 smartwatches...as one who has used both the Samsung watches are vastly superior, esp in battery life, so why not charge a price in line with apple? That's the reason for the insane price but I agree, if you're spending almost 700 with tax for the 3 you are likely bad with money haha
Nice vedio can u suggest which watch is better noise colour fit pro 2 vs real me band And 1 more question that we can keep different watch faces in noise colour fit pro 2
Everything seems legit except: 1: Active 2 buttons are not plastic, they are metal hence the ECG update came out and the oval button is the ground. 2: Active 2 bezel acts and responds like a physical bezel (identified as the black ring around the screen) 3: Active 2 also is running Tizen 5.5
Thanks for the review it's appreciated. I have worn a Wenger watch for about 40 years and wanted to get into the Smart Watches. I' am an android user with a galaxy 8 phone, tab 7+ tablet owner. The info was helpful and since it was prime day 6/21 I went with the galaxy 3.
Samsung missed the mark with the Galaxy Watch 3. There were no significant improvements. I have the Active 2 with LTE. The Active 2 would be perfect if they kept the larger watch face and longer straps.
I had the Galaxy watch classic and when it got too beat up I bought the Galaxy watch. I was very tempted to get the watch 3 but this review is making me second guess that and stick with the watch.
I have all 3. Watch is too big, bulky and heavy. I personally took off that thick silicone band immediately. Active 2 is a good watch. It is clearly minimalistic and designed for sports such as swimming. But it was not a nice watch to wear to work, events etc. Watch 3 looks the best to me. The all black design looks the best too me. It is certainly a bummer Samsung has not updated the chip. That was my biggest gripe. Unfortunately, Samsung doesn't have competition regarding the chip right now. Qualcomm managed to just barely launch a 12 nm chip when the Xynos 9110 is already a 10 nm chip. In the end the better looks of the Watch 3 and the fact that I traded in the original Watch is why I upgraded.
Thanks for the great video. I am trying to decide which of the three and came across your comparison video. I was curious if the watch 3 was actually worth that big difference in price. I think for me, I am leaning towards the original watch, but in the 42mm size. Thanks again.
I have ordered the same. Waiting for delivery. In this video says it doesn't have allways on display, is that right?. Rest of the review contradict the statement
I regret selling my Galaxy Watch. I personally think it's the best looking out of the three. But i have this thing that makes me want to have the latest of anything so I'm buying the Galaxy Watch three even if i like the first one the most 🤷♂️

Will I have to get a plan on the active 2 LTE to be able to receive and make calls, read and reply messages? Or I just connect witu Bluetooth and ready to enjoy all features? I use a Samsung galaxy phone.
Has anyone had problems with the Heart Rate sensor covering coming off? Mine did on a galaxy watch and could not be fixed. Seems to be that it was not designed for sport wear. is the active 2 any better?
Galaxy watch 3 all the way but if you are on a budget I suggest getting the watch from watchplaystore, just google their name, affordable yet comes with premium features and a great finish :D
Can someone explain what additional features the Galaxy watch has over the Active 2 - I want a watch for running, needs to be able to play spotify songs offline, and run the Strava app, will the active 2 do this?
I am a senior now and the most important things to me on the watch are the Sleep app, and the health and heart rate apps. I do love all the fancy fun stuff too, but my sleep and heart monitor is the most important. What are maybe 3 top picks I should look into.? Thank you. James in Texas
The blood pressure monitoring for the galaxy watch 3 is only available In some countries not in all countries and that is why it was advertised but not in the model you have.
I ditched the Active 2 for one that looks more like a proper watch.. love the look of the Watch 3 (especially bronze) but £419 is a significant jump in price, for not a significant jump in specs. Settled for a £190 TicWatch C2 Plus, and very happy I did!
Ok so if you get the LTE version, the internal storage won't matter. Also, the original galaxy watch has better gorilla glass and more battery life. The ecg and spo2 does not justify the price of the watch 3, especially when they haven't even been approved yet. I don't see why anybody would pay 200 extra pounds for a 0.1' bigger screen with less scratch resistance.
Just bought the SGW 46 for 220 bucks; don't need the ecg function, but the steel body and the circle command made it perfect for my usage. Have a S9+ and Buds+

Dude thanx so much, I'm a samsung rep and this helped me with my training. Lots of love from Cali bro!
Your welcome, happy to hear.
I used to have the original active I scratched it so bad but then I upgraded to the Galaxy watch and I'm loving it!
Galaxy Watch 3 is very impressive. Wonderful comparison!! 💟💟
#chigz
Thanks
Did you not watch the video?
@@Sansa279 yes he did. he stands by what he said.
@@Sansa279 9 years on youtube and still can't handle opinions. 🤡
Decided to buy Original Galaxy Watch (Because battery time is better, and also I can buy extra headphones because it's cheaper), best comparison I have ever seen on UA-cam. (I really love how you went step by step while doing the comparison, good job :) )
Active 2 looks the sleekest to me with its minimal and clean design. Since it's a watch, I'd sacrifice some features for looks.
I agree with you. Active 2 has the best design
Hi Chigz, thank you for making this great video. I have the original galaxy watch 46 mm. Does 46 mm same hardware, sensors like active 2 and galaxy watch3? I am asking to see if there is any possibility to receive ekg, blood pressure on galaxy watch. Thank you
does the galaxy watch feel heavy?
The comparison I have ever seen man you are the best ,I lake the Galaxy watch 46mm ,keep up
Has the active 2 price gone down since watch 3 launch ?
For Verizon
"Gold" active 2 i have. No way i would change ♡
Any scratch problem with the edges?
I'm going to buy one very soon ...
lohith kumar don’t buy it, unless you just want something light for sports, get the Galaxy Watch instead
Nice review guy..i prefer galaxy watch, it looks more elegent especialy black edition 42 mm....i really love a design....
Not many speak of the 42mm version. Still gets 4 days battery and looks better than all of these 3 watches. Also it's the cheapest of then all at 250 right now in Canada.
I agree
4 me, the gear S3 frontier was the best looking wearable ever to have been released! Samsung worked with Swiss watch makers and it was clearly seen in the product! Mine still works like a champ, not lagging even once, my only gripe is that the haptics is weak, not that weak but a little stronger would be great. I still hail it as the king 👑 if all smartwatches!
Mannnn... You are one of the best reviewers out there on UA-cam
Thanks. 👍
Active 2, minimalistic, period.
I chose the Original Galaxy Watch after watching this. Great review, thank you.
Nice, good choice.
You sound disappointed with the GW3. But for the current price it's fine.
I got 2 active 2 and I love them.
Any problems with wear and tear of edges? Coz there are no protecting bezels like in galaxy active 1
I use the simple protective rubber case....got it for under 10 ringgit...
@@bilalmarwat81 yes is scratch easily but I put case cover and screen protection
Hi ,do you think it's worth buying the Galaxy watch,is it very old or still something good
Original Galaxy watch is still Samsung’s best smartwatch, it’s a classic masterpiece which will never get old and it gives you the same performance as the latest model but with a better battery life and the original Galaxy watch is now cheaper, so yes go for it, you will not be disappointed.
Dude look at the specs, same cpu on all the watches and the galaxy watch actually have a bigger battery. The newer watches have very small upgrades, if you want a smartwatch, get the galaxy watch or wait until the newer releases have substantial upgrades.
Definitely get the original Galaxy watch as it's almost $200 dollars cheaper.
Good comparison...Active 2 is the best so far..🙌
Original GearS3,Galaxy watch,&Active 2 are all nice. the new Galaxy watch3 is a little different but still looks good and would be a great to add to the collection. I have the first three mentioned and still thinking about getting the new one.
I was stuck between Active 2 and the watch 3... getting the Active 2 for sure. Great work!
Galaxy 46 mm still my favorite. Others are great but I prefer 46mm. Thanks Chigz.
As a quite an active person I am an easy sell for 2.
It was quite disappointing to find out that spo2 and vo2max are only featured on 3
Why....?
Those are very important training measurements. I can't think of people wearing the size of 3 (forget about leather strap) and go training on a daily basis...
Wdym? Could you explain, Watch Active 2 doesn't have spo2 and vo2max?
@@adixar that's what the review video says mate
@@mike-papag that's awful... I guess I won't buy a smartwatch, or I'll buy a cheap on till the technology reaches better stages.
@@adixar that's what I am doing. I've been using Xiaomi's mi bands and been on the lookout for the right watch. Samsung watch active 2 almost won me over.
Have to keep looking.
Galaxy Watch has Always on also ... it has been added aditionally in software update.
@rehnyele greene So, does your galaxy watch have Always on as well?
mine does.
Nice vedio can u suggest which watch is better noise colour fit pro 2 vs real me band
And 1 more question that we can keep different watch faces in noise colour fit pro 2
What watch face is on the active 2 with the blue numbers and the headphone 🎧 on the top left?
Everything seems legit except:
1: Active 2 buttons are not plastic, they are metal hence the ECG update came out and the oval button is the ground.
2: Active 2 bezel acts and responds like a physical bezel (identified as the black ring around the screen)
3: Active 2 also is running Tizen 5.5
Thanks!
Original watch I have and love, although I will update next year for the blood pressure feature.
Does the active 2 have the bp mod3 in the u.s
Def helpful... I've always noticed the Active 2. It stands out more to me
Thanks for the review it's appreciated.
Active 2 would be great if it had a rotating bezel
I guess the best review available in UA-cam and the most geniune one
But i have this thing that makes me want to have the latest of anything so I'm buying the Galaxy Watch three even if i like the first one the most 🤷♂️
Galaxy watch 3 is really good, you will not be disappointed. I’m wearing it right now and I love it.
Hello
Just know if there is a difference in battery consumption of the smartphone by these different watches due to the bluetooth different 4.2 vs 5.0.
Thank you🙏🏽
The active 2 can do blood pressure and ecg bro
I have the active 2. 44mm LTE, S/Steel in the UK🇬🇧, love how you can dress it up from sporty to formal, very light and not intrusive on the wrist, great video by the way 👍
Plus if you're interested in the sleep tracking functions it is a damn sight more comfortable to wear at night.
Great review!! Objetive and realistic 👌 Go ahead!

Thanks so much! I’ll be getting one of these as a present (either the active 2 or the galaxy) and as someone who knows nothing about tech, this helped a lot ☺️👍🏼
You are beautiful ❤
The bezel helped me decide. I got the original one today. Nice looking watch!
@@livingkingsize8052 lol.
Just bought the 46mm Galaxy Watch for $249CDN. Decision was based on rotating bezel and larger battery.
A great watch for the price.
Will I have to get a plan on the active 2 LTE to be able to receive and make calls, read and reply messages? Or I just connect witu Bluetooth and ready to enjoy all features? I use a Samsung galaxy phone.
Original Galaxy Watch wins by me for now. My girl still uses Active 1 and bro Gear S3. They all work the same. The only difference is the battery
👍
Will zeblaze thor 4 fit on a 5 and a half inch wrist
Yes fits fine.
I bought the active 2 for my wife £219 from Samsung. It's great. I think I will buy the watch 3 which I believe looks a little more masculine.
Hi this is a brilliant video. Thank you. May I ask can u use amazon music on the Samsung watch. I was given the 42mm
Thank you. This video helped me pick up the watch active 2 🙌
Your welcome.
Has anyone had problems with the Heart Rate sensor covering coming off? Mine did on a galaxy watch and could not be fixed. Seems to be that it was not designed for sport wear. is the active 2 any better?
Absolutely Awesome Review 🙏🏿 You asked all my questions and concerns about these watches
Is Tizen OS 5.5 update available for the Galaxy Watch Active 2?
Not available for active 2. As active 2 will end up with all the new feature and then nobody will buy the watch 3.
@@ChigzTech Is The Galaxy Watch Active 2 Still Worth It?
Great review. The original galaxy for me.. For the current price its a winner..
Galaxy watch 3 all the way but if you are on a budget I suggest getting the watch from watchplaystore, just google their name, affordable yet comes with premium features and a great finish :D
Features not all active on Samsung 3?? So at the moment it disabled ? And so will it be active later on the watch ?
I brought 46mm samsung galaxy watch for 11k i am satisfied with that.. 🤗
Me too buddy
@@anilkumar-sh5bh where did you get it for 11k

Felt love with Samsung Galaxy watch 3😍😍
Can someone explain what additional features the Galaxy watch has over the Active 2 - I want a watch for running, needs to be able to play spotify songs offline, and run the Strava app, will the active 2 do this?
The watch face in the middle in the thumbnail is great , where can i get it??
The watch 3 already has an update that enablers both the ECG & BP monitors.
What region are you in?
Ok so if you get the LTE version, the internal storage won't matter. Also, the original galaxy watch has better gorilla glass and more battery life. The ecg and spo2 does not justify the price of the watch 3, especially when they haven't even been approved yet. I don't see why anybody would pay 200 extra pounds for a 0.1' bigger screen with less scratch resistance.
Will all of the features work if you have a non-samsung phone? I have a moto G6. I see conflicting info about this.
Just bought the SGW 46 for 220 bucks; don't need the ecg function, but the steel body and the circle command made it perfect for my usage. Have a S9+ and Buds+
I was just looking at some SGW original on eBay....quite a few. Did you get it from there?
