There are a number of different benefits to having facial hair or beard, one of which is a general sign of masculinity. Having facial hair or beard has also been seen as a sign of fertility. Also, by having facial hair or a beard, you'll also notice that people will sometimes view you with a sense of leadership or wisdom. One added benefit of having facial hair or beard is I instantly will look older if you have a young face. This added facial hair adds a complete different level of maturity.
At the beginning of first letting your beard grow, you might notice a few things happening. One of the first things that some gentlemen will notice when they first start to let their beard or facial hair grow in is that it starts to look a little bit patchy. Here's the deal, beards take time to grow and everybody is different.
During the first month of not shaving, you might start to notice that your facial hair will grow in without the patchiness. This, for a lot of gentlemen, will be happening within that first month period. A month is average but please remember that we are all different and it might take a little bit longer before you start to see a fully formed beard.
Itchiness, it's the worst. I promise you, it's extremely frustrating. Having coarse hair, your significant other will not like it. I remember when I first started growing facial hair and I was giving a hug to a relative and I nearly stabbed them in the face by how coarse and tough my hair is feeling. Also, you might have to deal with a few onlookers and people who just can't keep their comments to themselves about how you've lost yourself or you look a little rough around the edges but after you made it through those awkward weird stages at first beginning to let your beard grow in, there are some steps you can take to make sure that it always looks healthy.
Number one, wash it regularly. Keep your beard hydrated but don't over wash it.
Number two, begin applying beard oil. Stuff is incredible! I love this stuff! The beard oil helps add a shine and a softness to the touch to your overall beard.
Next, you can always use a beard balm. Now, a beard balm is something that's going to be really beneficial to somebody who hasmedium to a longer length beard. The beard balm can also aid in moisture retention.
Next, use a proper beard comb or brush. We don't recommend using the same brush or comb you might have used on your head. Typically, the products you use on your head shouldn't be used on your face or vice versa.
Here are some of the reasons why your hair might appear darker or denser in certain areas. Now, for those of you who might feel that your hair looks a little bit thin, if you happen to have lighter colored hair, it might appear thinner on your face than it would on someone who happens to have darker hair. And then check the hair on your head, as well, is the hair on your head thick or thin? Thicker hair always tends to look a little bit fuller. Now, there's no known way to make your hair grow faster but you can do things to make it look a little bit fuller and a little bit thicker.
Don't give up! Remember, give it time half patience and you will get there. - Навчання та стиль
I admire how he talks, calm, clear, and precise
Nice N' poopy
You are simply a racist because you don't like ebonics
@@calvingrace2538wtf does that mean
I was totally expecting Sven to come on and say "Don't" and that be the end of the video.
Sven does not hate beards, his wife just does not want him to grow one
"A beard can be a sign of wisdom. Look me for an example."
Well played sir! :D
Indeed
Must say I'm liking Kyle's style - both his beard and his presentation. Rafael is casual but forward, Preston is very engaging but this chap is very calm and chooses each word precisely.
This guy is new and I like him a lot!
We love the new GG member :D
Some added notes:
1) Beard Oil can smell amazing. I think of it as cologne with a purpose. However, if you don't like the fragrance it can be terrible to smell it all day. If possible I recommend sampling beard oil.
2) Most barbers can do beard trims and they are usually much cheaper than a hair cut. Definitely a good idea to work with your barber on keeping that beard stylish.
It's also very easy to make your own beard oil; combine almond oil and jojoba oil (you can find them at co-ops and natural food stores) with a couple drops of whatever essential oil you think smells nice in a little bottle, give it a good shake, and that's it!
As a young, 16 year old, I really have to thank you for all this informations and insights!
The LPN05Fan I’m a younger, beard-interested individual myself, and I have a few tips for you, just in case any may help:
1. You may not be able to grow a beard right away. Everyone is different, and no one should feel bad for not being able to yet.
2. There can be a few issues young people experience with growing a beard. This includes increased patchiness, certain specific areas of decreased growth (for me it was chin primarily), and some hairs growing without particular pigmentation.
3. Hair growth can be very slow, even more-so when you’re young. Don’t get discouraged even if there are months of perceivably little progress.
4. You may need to shave off the beard entirely if too many non-pigmented hairs are present. Lightly pigmented hairs are normal at first, as the beard might have to grow in more for darker colors to be visible.
I hope some of that helps!
I love how calm and collected kyle is
Always great to see Kyle on the channel. He's so calm.
And remember - a man doesn't grow a beard, a beard grows a man.
Yes!
Kyle is growing on me quick. An excellent addition to the team.
Agreed
I love the completely different style Kyle has brought to the channel. Great video. Also, finally a bearded guy on the channel.
Yes!
Why did i watch the entire video ? I’m a woman... with no beard... and no man with a beard😐.
Have been subscribed for a long time tho😆.
Same here. I enjoy this channel. Great content.
Bee Mari Me too!
As a woman you have a total right to study, revel and be in awe of a bearded face, gentlemen claim the same right about lady bits ! :-)
Me too! 😂😂😂
me too 😂
As someone with a legal education that strives to be precise in word and efficient in sentence, Kyle does an excellent job in this respect.
I love the different characters between Preston, Raphael, and Kyle.
also beards can hide sagging jowls and wrinkly neck when you get older
Or a weak chin altogether.
So happy to see a new edition to the Gentleman's Gazette! Especially happy to see a video on beards!
For those of us with curlier and coarse textures, use a beard brush! The brush helps laydown the hair. I find alot of itchiness is the result of the hair either getting caught in the follicle, or curling back into the skin.
Beard brushes can help lay the hair down as it grows out. And help with exfoliating the skin and helping the hairs release from their follicles.
Oils and exfoliation helps with irritation. I use coconut oil and I brush and it's really good.
I like how you explained everything in a very calm way. As well as you didn't advertised any specific brand of beard growing related products, but just how to take care and grow your beard.
I rocked a clean shave (head and face) for the last eight years. After just a week and a half in, my beard is growing rather fast. I plan on letting it grow in before I decide what style l want. Your video was awesome! Big up.
Great video Kyle! I love the direction this channel is taking, keep up the great content.
Boar brush is a must. No. 1 item in every bearded man wash bag. Brush your beard regularly from the very beginning of growing and you don't have any problem with itchiness. It cleans not only your facial hair, but what's more important, your skin under the beard. Brushing also stimulates the sebum production, which makes your skin nourished. So before you buy all the other beard-beauty stuff - shampoos, tonics, balms, combs - get a proper brush. Next thing is a beard oil.
Does this brush help to grow out in patches? Or help grow who cant grow one?
Assuming that brushing boosts the blood flow in your skin, it may help, though I'm not a specialist in medicine. Anyway, it won't do any harm for sure ;)
@@karolr9320 I heard minoxidil works the same way by blood circulating. So it should be worked no doubt if regularly
I could watch this guy all day. Well done. 👍
Go Kyle. I really like this guy. He should work on his speaking skills a little bitt but other than that he is awesome. Very nice guy.
I think he has a very natural conversational style.
He has a good voice to start with and only minor refinements needed (enunciation, etc)
His speaking skills? What are you talking about?
I didn't notice anything
Point to his exact flaws great orator.
I wish I had this advice when I started growing a beard some 20 years ago.
Great advice!!!
Nice calm and smooth voice. A great presenter in the
Gentleman's Gazette.
You have got to love his "Smooth Operator" delivery style.
Very thoughtful and well spoken.
Great information.
Kyle really is an asset to this channel. Loving him an his presentation.
I grow my beard out every fall/winter. Its always a bit rough at the beginning, but it usually grows in by the holidays. Then trim it back to a goatee once it starts getting warm out.
Beard oil, which I discovered late last year, is really important once the cold and dry days of winter arrive
stonetop which do you prefer full beard or goatee ?
Awesome! I just started to grow mine and was hoping you guys would have tips
A new Gentleman? I like him. Also excited to see him produce more great content!
Kyle, Welcome to the family. Great vid
Excellent job, Kyle!
A nice topic that neither Sven Rapahel nor Preston could address since they have clean faces. Also, Kyle has improved his communication skills a lot since he joined the team, great work!
Indeed
Another great video. I will try some of the tips
Wow this vid just gave me confidence that I could also grow a beard
A new Dapper, well-spoken and respectable gentleman with an understanding for us POC guys! Make your own beard oil super cheap and you’d be amazed how soft supple your beard is and itchiness goes extinct.
He’s a fantastic addition, it’s nice to have a version of men’s sartorial elegance represented that is more modern to balance out the other gentlemen’s more vintage inspired styles. It’s a great way to show men that they can have variety too (not to mention he’s incredibly handsome).
Very true
Hey, can you here on the gentlemen’s gazette please make a video on the bowler hat, and stuff surrounding the bowler hat. That would be exquisit.
Can you also make a video on wearing the top hat in a more casual way,
Thankful for an answer.
Interesting video buy the way.
Yay! How timely! Fall is beard growing season anyway! Let ‘me grow gents!
I love your voice, it's very calm
I’m working on a beard for the first time since college, about 15 years ago. As one might expect, it is growing in more fully, but I still find that my chin and mustache grow thicker more quickly than the rest of the face. I’ll definitely give it more time. Patience is key.
Great vid! Liked Kyles take on it!
Growing a good beard is a discipline. I use a trimmer to keep mine looking clean. However, I have never considered using a beard brush before, so I am going to look into that idea.
Very good video! And the presenter is very charismatic.
Those lines are so sharp. 😊 🌻
Hi!! First video I saw of you and I think you are great and stylish!
Yesssss! More Kyle!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
A fine beard there Kyle!
Thanks for the advice man
Amazing tips. Thanks
I have to say that Kyle has improved a lot since his first videos... I like that, keep going. As a constructive comment, Kyle must practice to volume up his speaking.
Since I saw your first video, I wanted to ask for something related to facial hair! (I'm working on mine and is going kind of slow)
Thank you for the video!
P.S. I'm a big fan of Cole Haan shoes!
With November coming soon I expect that ALL men on your channel let their beard grow for ALL the videos coming up in November!!!
8:00 Just imagine someone saying "I trained so hard i grew a beard"
Someone give a cookie for any gentleman that gets the reference
Great video! A 1 presentation 👍
Interesting video! I live in a quite cold climate so my personal "tradition" is to be clean-shaven from May and the summer when it's hot and grow it out in the autumn for the winter.
around what time would you start growing your beard? It's starting to get colder here in Europe and am considering to let it grow for the winter.
@@cyrilio I live in northern Sweden, so it gets cold relatively early here, but I usually start growing my beard from October. September still feels quite summery to me and if I start later it doesn't have time to grow long enough for the winter.
8:40 Oh, that's why lawyers don't grow beards.
I like Kyle, nice addition to the team
This new guy is great
Thanks for adding a man with a darker complexion. Great video!!!
Well done!
My dad was 24 when he first started growing facial hair now he’s 38 with a lumberjack type beard, I’m 15 and I have jack sparrows type of facial hair except I’m dirty blonde and my facial hair is more on the lighter side and more on the longer side
Great show 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Love Kyle on this channel. Good information on beard care. Only suggestion is to include that some men genetically cannot grow a beard. My honey can grow a nice goatee, but a full beard is a patchy mess. Go for what works for you.
Can’t grow a beard, but still watched it wishing I could.
Even a little bit of a beard or patches make yours unique to you.
I have peach hairs.
I can't either man I can only get little fuzzes and it is thin.
@@sadlord2067 Give it time bro.
how old are you then?
Kyle - please do a video about the shape and silhouette of slim fit pants. It’s difficult to walk the line between too baggy and too slim.
I never shaved my moustache since its start grow and now i have a good handlebar moustache
Loved the new guy. A nice change of pace and style too.
The fact that you have a full beard is making me so jealous, I’m only 18 (19 in September) so I have the time but I’ve wanted a beard for a couple years
Kyle has improved his speaking skills alot! He’s great!
What a great gentleman again! His voice is very calming. Good job.
I wear a full beard and yes men, it does make a huge difference! Where women would rather avoid me when I had no beard, now with full beard they seem to flock to me. Also for respect between other men I seem to get a lot more respect while having a beard, my opinions suddenly matter or even are used as final decision or lead example.
Yes, people will comment on your facial hair even if it doesn't concern them or for that matter if you just decided to have it grow. People also often complain that you need to shave or that you look like a hobo and all kinds of other nasty comments while ignoring your wishes and why you attempt to grow a decent beard. Often this also comes out of frustration that these same people can't grow it, are married so they can't try to date you, jealousy, thinking they know better what's good for you then yourself, etc. So it's more on their side what they dish out and not so much your side.
The eat healthy thing is not needed, just eat what your body needs to come trough the day and not more then that. It won't stop or slow your facial hair growth. I don't eat healthy, at least not to current day standards, yet my beard is full and looks good and healthy.
Well my school doesn't allow facial hair, I started growing facial hair rapidly since about 12 years old I now shave once a week or every few days depending on how fast the growth is, but nonetheless great video, very useful information!
I love the new guy!
I'm physically incapable of growing a beard, but I'm curious. Love you guys.
You have an awesome beard!
Welcome Kyle. Great addition!
Step 1: don't shave
Step 2: remember step 1
Step 3: repeat step 2 as necessary
Fact
Good video
Speaking as someone with a somewhat larger but well kept beard, people do treat me like I have more authority than when it was shorter
Will Fort Belvedere offer more leather goods made of deer skin?
What overcoat color would the brown & oatmeal alpaca scarf be a good match to?
I've waited years for this video.
And wisdom.
I can certainly vouch for beard oil, it really helps with the conditioning.
Paul Osborne any recommendations on one that doesn’t smell like a lumberjack?
Everything I see is pine trees and musk.
@@cferdinandi Jamaican castor oil, mixed with equal parts jojoba oil with few drops of peppermint oil
@@babyfood9537 Thank you!
kyle is so swag
Hey kyle could u ask the host who often wears a bowler hat to do a video again big fan of him (no offence to u but that guy had great overcoats)
I like this dude
I haven't watched the video yet but is the answer "wait"?
I started a no shave no cut for one year on june 1st. Almost to the half way mark. So far I am getting into the beard balms but is need to get a good comb, do you recommend horn or wood?
Bore hair brush and a wood comb.
Ive been growing my bear since 10 months now, never got any itching but feel like it’s not growing anymore, I’m 22. I have the same beard as you
I wish you also made it clear that not every man can successfully grow a full beard. I've gone without shaving for an entire year, and a full beard never grew out. It remained patchy for that entire time.
Nice vid
Lovely to see D. Pedro II, the last (and the most missed) Emperor of Brazil by 0:25... :)
Maybe an Easter Egg from Raphael, in honor of his brazilian father? 😀
Love this new guy!
How about eyebraws?
I have the same problem as the kings you showed us before...
My opinion if you let your stash grow a little longer you can cover up them two patches you have and would look better
So what if my beard doesn’t want to grow in certain areas on my face. Should I shave more often?
Why am i watching this? Im 17 and i can barely grow a mustache and some chin hair😂
Dont worry. You'll get there. At least your getting ahead in the game and learning about things to come, before they show up. Nothing wrong with that!
@Dan The Man same 😂
Thank you amin joseph
