I just ADORE that organ that dominates the sound of the last chorus. It’s so eerie and menacing and practically spells out “yeah, you can always call on Satan, but he’s _probably_ not gonna “help” you how you want him to.” Deals with the devil and all that.
Yes! No one ever mentions it but I agree, it absolutely elevates the song and gives it a perfectly eerie finale.

Ghost is absolutely brilliant, one of the best rock bands of the last 20 years. Another great band which is lesser known is Smash into Pieces, incredibly talented and the lead singer is phenomenal. Also from Sweden. The song Save it for the Living is a great one. Love the channel 👍

Great review/reaction! As you mention, Ghost are top-tier songwriters and musicians, and their overall production and packaging is next level. They are actually touring the US right now, so if you have a chance see them - I saw them last month, and they were brilliant live. This album has a bit of Black Album production (Metallica has had Ghost open tours for them).

I think he did the low level monotone vocals as like an evil mantra to worm itself into your brain and camp there. I imean, tihis song is so addictive I find myself singing it a lot and wish they had played it when I saw them in Hershey, PA. Glad to heat that he may have put the song into the set list. Ghost is an awesome band live and Tobias is so savvy and puts a lot of effort into the whole Ghost "story" with the chapter videos which are hilarious. I'm glad has a great sense of humor about it all and when he sings "even when you're dead and gone" I get the expression he is winking at us as he 's singing it.

i just got into Ghost last month i initially dismissed them on their appearance but realized they have more melody than anything I've heard in years. Started listening to their back catalog just cant believe my ears they are outstanding.
Great reaction and review. The song gets better with each listen and view. My only negative and it's really only nit picking, but the way they put the face on the devil to make him sing looks odd, but besides that love it!
I think that was the point of that visual, to look uncanny, like the devil is trying to look human, but he can't get it juuuust right

You got the devil’s help, but now that he’s involved, there’s gonna be a catch and it’s not likely to end well for you. The facade of humanity and compassion was just that, a facade. A flimsy one at that, hence the face that shifts and warps like a reflection in a cloudy, cracked mirror, but when you’re desperate for salvation, you are less selective about who you accept help from. Now you never walk alone, but in the process you lose your soul. Brilliantly haunting.

Year Zero it's the sound of the current times
This rerminds me of an older Alice Cooper song.
I think this video and Rammstein's video "Deutschland" are superb high quality productions and my two favorite vids along with Ghost's "He Is" official video.
I only mention Deutschland because it was such an undertaking by Universal music that it cost 6 million US dollars to film and I bet this video wasnt cheap to make either. "Deutschland"is the second most expensive video in the history of music,right behind Michael and Janet Jackson's video "Scream".( $7,000,000 US at the time)
**Why dont people mention "He Is"?? They go through several other Ghost songs and always leave it out? It was the first Ghost song I ever heard by them and it got me hooked.

Love the song, not as fond of the video, too "on-the-nose", it's better when it kinda seeps in through the melody and hook, then the realization hits, this song is actually pretty fucking dark..."Little Sunshine", ahh, I get it now; didn't need to beat people over the head like Slayer, and I herald Slayer, but this dude went the other direction and its freaking brilliant
