For scouting, as a tip: the difference in their overall and potential never changes. For instance, if a guy has 65-99 potential and 36-70 overall, then when you draft him, his potential will be 29 higher than his overall. No matter how much scouting you do, this difference will never change, the range within the attribute will just get smaller (in this example, he may go from 65-99 potential to 75-90 potential, but the overall range would also shrink to 46-61, keeping the same 29 point difference between potential and overall (90-61 = 29, 99-70 = 29). With this knowledge, you can avoid wasting time scouting players like Damion Martinez bc you can tell without scouting them at all that they’re busts. Hope you see this and it’s helpful ❤️
Hey Bengal! One other thing to consider in the future when you're drafting players. When you see a player's overall/potential range, if the range is super wide, I'd be careful. Typically, the player's fall right around the middle of the range, estimation-wise. So, a 65-99 potential player is one I would scout AFTER scouting, say, a 75-90 potential player. You might see the 99 on the other player and have high expectations, but the second player's ranges give you a better guesstimation. This is also a great way to gauge overall. If you're picking in round 5-6 and you see a player with 75-85 potential and 67-80 overall, you know you've almost certainly got a solid enough player that can come in and make an impact early, but likely won't develop into a 90+ talent. Also, when you're choosing players to scout individually (and you have the 90+ Efficiency/90+ POS Player scout ratings that I recommended), 18-19 year old players tend to take ~2 weeks to scout, while 21+ year old players only take 1 week. That's The Show's way of trying to be realistic -- "We've seen more of this player and can more confidently scout his abilities". Older players also tend to have those shorter overall/potential ranges I was referring to. Anyway, I still have a lot of learning to do in regards to drafting, so I wouldn't take what I say as a science or anything. Again, I would SUPER highly recommend checking out the UA-camr 'Fiend Franchise'. He has a great video breaking everything down further (and shows how he scouts, week by week, for an entire season prior to the draft). I only recommend this because I know how much you love drafting expertly on Madden and I figured you'd like to be as good as you can be at scouting here too. Alright, sorry for the wall of text. Loving the series, dude!
Love this series bengal. KC has great fans. It’s been hard to be a fan with their performance over the last decade, but with the team picking up steam in real life… I think this series could make it to June! Keep it up
I hire 2 pitching expert scouts and have them cover all 4 regions of the SP. my 3rd scout is a pos player expert and I bounce around n get as many players done as possible. I always have over 50 guys at least %95 done by the draft. Really gives you options. Just a thought. Enjoying this so far. Thank you
They got Holliday & Tucker on the trade block because of positional conflicts. Could change Jackson Holiday’s position to 2B for the O’s since he’ll be playing there IRL most likely
You should do a series of a Fantasy Draft league with legends included, all timing/player attributes based obviously. With the salary cap on too, would be dope.
some things i’ve noticed playing this game is relievers with high walks per 9 rating tend to be much better in sim. there’s a reason i always go and get loaisiga typically
Hey bengal I just wanted to say that you could turn the music up a bit in the non gameplay scenes. I’m not sure if thats the game's audio or editied in.
Might be worth having MJ start at catcher vs LHPs. That way his bad defense isn't behind the plate every day, but allows us to get Fermin out of the lineup against his weaker side
Slugging is a percentage calculated by dividing a player's total bases by the number of hits they have. A single is 1 base, a double is 2 bases, etc. Slugging accounts for not only how often a player hits but also how 'hard' they hit.
How the hell did Kyle Wright pitch a complete game shutout with zero strikeouts and also zero walks. Bro really got 27 in play outs. Thats some prime Mark Burhle shit
Bengal thinks his franchise is messed up lol. In my franchise the reds literally traded Elly and Matt Mcclain to the dodgers for Clayton Kershaw!!!!! I almost reset my franchise just seeing that.
The potential rating is just how fast he will progress not what his potential overall will be. So low potential rating just means he’ll progress slowly, not that he will max out at 70
It’s kinda like madden where A potential is Superstar X factor. B is Superstar and C is just star. It doesn’t have anything to do with there actual overall.
Someone with 99 potential is more likely going to get 99 overall way quicker than someone with 80 potential, but if the 99 potential player numbers are bad then his overall will go down just like anyone else’s would. For example if Freddy fermins potential is a 75 or something but he starts hitting good that doesn’t mean his overall isn’t going to go up anymore.
That's not true in the show. Potential isn't a hard cap, but if a rookie is a 75 with 70 potential then they will likely progress for a year or two (maybe go up a couple overall), but then they'll start to regress again. Potential caps players to a range of overalls
You have to do better at scouting you, discovering players is pointless especially if you aren’t actually scouting them, the way you’re going your draft is going to be terrible

mind blown - has it always been like this? Been playing the show since like 2012 and never noticed this haha

A guy on the last video said any hitters at the top of the board, under 20 with exactly +5 vision over discipline are generational! You must draft him
I hope he sees this
8:28 Kevin Newman found his way to this series
Watching this as Cole Regans is 50+ pitches into the 2nd against the Astros
I thought you were joking so I went and looked. Holy hell.
@@qwertyutopia4667The commentators said “it almost seems like they know what’s coming” 😂😂
Kc baseball lol
Correction. 86 pitches in the 4th*
Yeah at 10 hits, 5ks, 3 ER, 1bb
If you want, you could have Melendez play catcher more over Fermin. Might help the lineup on somedays
Was expecting this when JD came back. Fermin is sucking and it could allow for another prospect to come up and fill the lineup hole
This is by far the best series on this game! Keep up the good work man, you’re crushing it!

Haven’t been a big fan of baseball since like 5th grade but bengal is getting me back into it loving this series
Love the series always excited for it
Damion Martinez proudly announcing “it’s all downhill from here”
keep the grind going Bengal. this series has been elite thus far!

Freaking love this series man!

You should put Melendez at Catcher if Freddy continues to struggle, I feel like the outfield depth is there to do that.

MJ Melendez went full Barry Bonds 😂😂

Bengal is like a walking almanac he should do actual mlb games i’d listen to his games
Can someone explain what all of these different stats are like especially slugging? I dont follow baseball that much and im very confused
You’ve got Google mate
Slugging is a percentage calculated by dividing a player's total bases by the number of hits they have. A single is 1 base, a double is 2 bases, etc. Slugging accounts for not only how often a player hits but also how 'hard' they hit.
how do i set up the moments stuff. I never get them
It should ask you when you start up a franchise. Otherwise, I believe it's in the franchise "mode-specific" settings
Lawrence butler is my guy in franchise 24:46
Came here for the baseball, I keep watching for the blue eyes. 😉
Think you missed it, but the stros prob put Tucker on the Trade Block because they now have Soto to pair with Alvarez lol
As a yankee fan I threw up😭🤣
I’d argue u should increase Velasquez potential
How the hell did Kyle Wright pitch a complete game shutout with zero strikeouts and also zero walks. Bro really got 27 in play outs. Thats some prime Mark Burhle shit
Would love to see the awards tab, it shows who the current mvp is. Maybe Garcia is numero uno
We love you bungol
2 day wait for a 30 minute video??? This is robbery Bengal!
You can put MJ Melendez behind the plate so you don’t have to start Fermin if you want
bro whenn are we getting falcons franchise oh my goodness
7:30 No way that dude's 18 years old, he looks more like 38!
Melendez is cooking irl. gotta get him involved in the franchise.
Have you considered moving Melendez back to Catcher for the rest of the year?
At some point in the year we need a fantasy baseball league update
Mj Melendez is the new Barry bonds
Try moving Jackson Holliday to a different position. It could work to fix the Ai trade.
you know it’s a video game when the A’s have fans at their game
why does the game have a bunch of players numbers wrong?
Darion Blanco got the start for approximately 1 minutr
i need more !!!!!!
just remember mj melendez can play catcher if you freddy doesn’t improve
Muscle Juice Melendez
Petition to call up Blake Mitchell
put melendez at catcher and start blanco or call up an outfielder
Maybe moving MJ back to catcher until Blake is ready to come up/Salvy is healthy because it would be good to get Freddy out of there
W
Astros signed Soto which makes Kyle Tucker expendable
Player Lock MJ Melendez and use PCI to showcase what he can REALLY do lol
Bro franchise stats are wild this year I swear to god a made up rookie in my franchise gained 19 contact vs lefties in a single season
He must have racked
I jus said this yesterday I had a guy go up like 13 in contact R

Rich Norcross looks 40 yrs old
Melendez can play catcher.
put melendez at catcher
what up Bengal, you should go get Paul Skenes.
This sounds like a comment Bengal would read when he says people make stupid comments on his videos

HAVE MJ MELENDEZ PLAY CATCHER!!!
would love to see you skip drew waters AB every time he comes up .. his stance just really grinds my gears
Call up Blake Mitchell to start
I’m begging you to start using pinpoint :(
You need to trade Bo Naylor or O'Happe.
MJ Melendez for MVP start the campaign now
👍
Hi
You’re so cute, you should get off of that youtubes and be on national TV!!

Please make Gilley a 2nd baseman his throwing stats stink
This ^^^
I got burnt on a draft prospect like that. 93-97 potential and overall and he turned out to be a 75 with 75 potential. Great first overall pick
Please do the Patriots for Madden 25 franchise
He doesn’t really do teams that have a rookie qb starting and the pats will probably have that
Bring back riverside

Wait so when I go into player attributes and say it says Ethan Salas is a 99 potential it means how fast he progresses not his ceiling?
