- When I first built my drill press cart I built it too tall, 6" too tall. It was a real pain to use it. I figured If I was going to rebuild it I would include three Festool SYS draws in it. Thanks for watching. Mike
This guy is absolutely GENIUS !!!!!
He has more ideas than the whole industrie !
Never saw this pocket whole maker before !! Genius ! 🙂
First of all, I thank you for your wonderful style and the same wonderful explanation
Secondly, I congratulate you for this workshop, which I wish I would own, and I repeat my thanks to you. I enjoyed watching you and your work. Greetings to you.

thanks for no music I like the sound of the shop
matthew saffran no problem I got in trouble from UA-cam so no more music. Thanks for the comment Mike
Boy you’ve got all the toys-all the expensive “if you have to ask” ones.
Mike you a millionaire - that shop looks about £30.000. grand to me - and that Festal suction vice never seen one of them on youtube before.
John Bredemere lol not even close, I’ve done a lot of selling older tools to buy what I have. I have a video on the vacuum clamping system. Thanks for the comment
Very well done; I am sure it'll match the other pieces. Keep it up, you're doing great. Kind regards. P.S: What joy no background music!!!
ToolsConsumables Thanks for the comment, more to come.
Thank you for your courteous reply & shall await your next instalment. Take care, kind regards.
I envy you Mike, nice shop
Eddie Espinosa thank you very Mike
Mike, watching your video I felt like a starving Lazarus watching the rich man eat dinner. Build the cabinet with a Harbor Freight compound chop saw on a workmate table, an 18 volt DeWalt drill, a small pocket hole jig and flea market bought hand tools. You torturer!
Nice shop, nice tools, nice job, I hope that cigar didn’t bite you.🙂🙂
I want your shop!
Cute…but it would NEVA hold my drill press. Nice build for a small light weight press.
That sawstop saw makes me drool. LOL
Timothy Volkers its very nice. I will be adding the sliding table in a short while
Nicest garage shop I’ve seen. Thanks for the video.
Awesome
A great build
You (by far) have the most efficient shop I have ever seen. Organized, clean, safe. Well done my friend. Well done.
Pat Masherelli thank you very much I truly I I appreciate the comment. I’ve done a lot of upgrades since this video. I will be posting a new shop tour. Go to my one year anniversary video and just make a comment to be entered into my giveaway. Mike
Mikes wood shop thank you mike. I plan on viewing all your videos. New sub. Glad I found your channel sir.
Agreed! Even if I do not have the same level of toys I was able to pull away some great thoughts on efficiency and org. Thanks for sharing, Mike.
Hello Mike,
I love your channel and enjoy your collection of tools. Can you tell me what the dimensions of the drill press cart is without the casters?
Albert Lucarelli without the casters its 24” tall with the top. The base is 18” wide by 16” deep. The top is 22” wide by 18” deep. I hope this was helpful. Have a Happy New Year. Mike
Mike,
This is perfect thank you and hope you and your family have a shopaholic and safe new year. Look forward to more videos in 2018
Hola Mike, it’s me again...just to tell you that yesterday I bought some wood to do my own stand for my drill press and sander... I hope I get what I think... this afternoon, after lunch I begin to work...
antonio999us sorry for the late response I didn’t see your comment. I hope it turned out great. Send pictures to my e mail. Mike
hello, can you give the dimensions of this stand?
Nice build! I understand 27" tall with casters can you provide the rest of the dimensions?
you have a expensive taste in tools. good video!
So many fools calling rails stiles and stiles rails and so forth and so on. I'm subscribing my man!
Not sure why you didn't use the table saw on all the cuts instead of using the trac saw and chop saw and the table saw. Just curious.
smadajoe some times in just use the MFT-3 table when I just meet to crosscut a few pieces. There is no reason. Funny I actually use my tablesaw more now then the table. Thanks for the comment Mike
I have a question, how much the price of JIG HOLE, and where can I find it
fantastic job, love the vid. cart turned out great.
I've seen a lot of pocket screws used on youtube and always has a very long drill bit. why so long? seems it would be hard to fit in tight spots
Shaun Kennedy it is in tight spots, but in big spaces it easier to control the bit into the head of the screw. Thanks for the comment. Mike
oh ok, i see now thank you
If you use a short driver the chuck will touch the material or the bit won't engage the screw properly So ? Use the long driver

Mike, I noticed your table saw extension table. Did you purchase this or build it? Like the casters you used. Where did you get them?
B Cain it's a Kreg workbench part of there workbench line. I built the top, sides and shelves. It's mobile and the top is like the MFT table but with 3/4" hole. Hope that was helpful. Mike
Nice video Mike, Thank You. Including the weehls how high is your stand ? Best Wishes Dirk
Wow is your last name Festool
Yeah I know pretty well that secondhand smoke is very dangerous. Your cigar is however so nice.
Woody Lakkham thank you very much
Hey Mike, how do you like your mini JET drill press?
John Frontier yes it’s a very good machine works very well. Thanks for the comment
Lol, I was just thinking that, how much did you spend on that shop. Do a video on that. Not judging just curious.
You're trying to get the man a divorce!
so how tall did you make the cabinet this time?
How you doin?
How tall is the table?
you have a very nice shop, all the bells and whistles, but I just cant watch because it just doesn't apply to me.
😀
I could retire on how much $ you have in that shop. 😁 Enjoy!
Rolling Stone lol that’s why I can’t
Mike’s Wood Shop 😆🤣🥺😭
hmm a voice over would have been nice rather than just watching. Also maybe trim the video down.... 19mins is a long time to listen to nothing.
I agree. Thank you for a thoughtful well organized process. Mr. Mike I look forward to your other videos!
You are the Man!! I have never seen a shop as efficiently set up like yours. It's an advertisement for Kreg Tools and Festool!! I sure hope you have a very good security system. The layout and machines you have are set up like a factory and the way you work is very efficient. No downtime searching for anything. Thank you for showing me how a properly laid out shop can make for fast work.
This man has every top of the line tool you can get ! 🔥
Mikey, love the channel. I’m a custom framer, with that shop and your skill level I expect more from you. Your a perfectionist, and ocd...all good traits.....plus as a plumber you know load strength....putting the bottom shelf inside of the sides relies on only the pocket screws to hold the weight, versus the the shelves resting on the bottom ply.....love the vids
I would say the same thing but his casters overlapped with the side panels so the load isn’t only on picket screws.
Thanks Mike. What are the drawers that you mentioned ?

Great stand. I just bought the Jet for my shop, and was surfing to see if I could catch some more ideas about what my cart should look like. Out of curiosity, how tall is this cart? I'm thinking mine should be about 35" if I want the top to be just about eye level to me.
Hello Mike, greetings from Peru... I’ve just watched your video... a simple way to make a good stand for the drill press...I liked it a lot... I love all your tools... that’s something I always dream to have, every time when I travel to the USA ... the variety of tools you have in the USA is incredible...I get crazy after every visit I do to Home Depot or Sears ... unfortunately I can’t buy all tools that I wish, which by the way, they are very cheap for me in USA, if I compare the price of the same tool between in USA and the Peruvian one. Here tools cost at least three times. Recently I bought a Makita drill press for my shop, and I want to install it in the best way to take advantage of the space in my small shop. You gave me some ideas, I have a small shop as I said, so I need to optimize the usage of my space. In my next life I will try to move my influences to born in a place where you can get all kind of tools for your hobbies ( I love to do my homemade fishing lures, maybe you can visit my channel and see what I do). Thank you for sharing, in case you know if there is a video in youtube that show how to install a drill place in a small room, let me know it. I’ve subscribed to your channel to follow your work.
antonio999us thank you very much for such a great comment I truly appreciate it. I’ve been collecting tools for many years a I love using every one of them. I subscribe to your channel, I don’t fish but I love watching people make lures. E mail me your address and I will send you a sticker. Mike
Hola Mike, please write me to Attila_homemade_lures@yahoo.com .... thanks for your reply... here is not common to have a shop in your home. When you need to repair or do something, usually you hire a handyman. it’s funny because when my wife hire someone, at the end I have to lend my tools , which I don’t like. Was very fun to watch your videos. Later I will come back and review some of your other videos. In case you visit my channel, I will be very happy to receive your comments and recommendations.
antonio999us I subscribe to your channel watched a bunch of the video’s. Really great work.
Mike
Hola Mike, thanks a lot for your comments and to subscribe to my humble channel. Yesterday’s I watched your tour to your new truck. Great job. I wish to have at least 1/10th of your skills. Let’s keep in touch.
Antonio999us Look on you tube for Justin Depew. I'm sure you will be able to find out that your situation is not unique. Justin lives in a rented apartment and does a great deal with his limited space. He designs his own tools and does remarkable things with them.
You are my kind of woodworker, nice job
Eddie Espinosa thank you very much
How tall is it ?
David Randall its 24 inches with the 3 inch casters. The box is 18 1/2" wide by 18" deep with a 20"x 20" top trimmed with 3/4" edges. Thanks Mike
What was the total height from floor to top?
I love your work!! Regard Adrian
when you have way to much money
Dang!
Mike,
With all due respect, I have to express my displeasure on this particular episode. You have about a million dollars worth of tools in your garage and the best you can show us is a plywood box put together with pocket hole screws. I know it's just shop furniture, but where's the master craftsmanship in using a ton of pocket hole screws? No dados, no mortises, no finger joints no dovetail joints, nothing, what's with that?
Co Rin LOL I don't know about a million dollars worth of tools. I needed to redo my shop and I figured the fastest way to do it. I'm almost done with it. One of my next videos was finger joints and finger joint hinges then dovetails. My next build coming up within the next few weeks is a very high end gaming table. Thanks for the comment. Mike
One is free to be displeasured by anything at any time
I like pocket screws for shop furniture
Live with it

His shop, his tools, his rules. He gets to make his stuff as complicated or as simple a design as he choses. Keep up the great woodworking, Sir!!! :)
@@laramiekreeper Agree, if it works for him no other opinions matter.
What grit paper you use for final sanding?
Dan Johnson I use 200 grit for normal jobs finer like 400 if needed. Thanks Mike
To many fancy tools
No such thing as to many fancy tools.
