  • On April 19, 2024 the US Department of Education published a final rule governing Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in federally-funded educational programs.
You may recall that FAIR previously filed public comments on two proposed Title IX rules: one governs sex-based discrimination in educational programs in general; and the other governs sex-based discrimination in the context of sports. You can read those public comments and some additional relevant information near the bottom of this page.
The Final Rule, including a lengthy preamble, is over 1,500 pages long and covers a myriad of topics. In an effort to provide you with a valuable and timely overview of the Final Rule, we are hosting a virtual event with a panel of legal experts who will focus on the issues raised by the rule that are of most concern to our supporters.

Title IX is why I rented escorts instead of going out on dates when I was in college.
