Mr. Casey, you are so amazing. It is interesting that you say you don't consider Frederick Douglass to be a hero or mentor to you, and yet you know so much about him and his life.
Insightful discussion that doesn't shy away from the more complex parts of Douglass' views. I really enjoyed learning from your expertise on his writings as these topics relate so poignantly to many of the issues we're facing today.
Good point! With more time I was able to expound on different points. Douglass was a public figure for 50 years, he changed his mind and strategy many times. Like with MLK and others, people typically learn the watered-down, non-challenging version. Thanks to FAIR for presenting an opportunity for me to analyze a bit deeper than the usual platitudes and niceties.
Thank you for sharing Casey Lartigue's perspective on the legacy of Frederick Douglass. It resonates deeply with our mission at Freedom Speakers International of empowering North Korean refugees. We encourage everyone to watch this enlightening discussion and join us in fostering a more tolerant world.

That is a subtle point! I have learned a lot from Frederick Douglass but I never met him so it is difficult for me to consider him a hero or a mentor.
