Before that song they sang EVERYBODY which is another energetic song and dance.(with 4 of them hitting high notes). That is why they were already sweating. After Lucifer they sang 3 more songs before taking a break for changing clothes.

In the "Lucifer" MV the SHINee members don't have superpowers, but the "smoke" or "light trail" you see is supposed to represent the aura of a girl who has devilish powers like Lucifer, who is trying to possess them and take over their lives. As the English lines in the song say, "Loveaholic, robotronic ... her whisper is the Lucifer." (They are using auto tune because they are supposed to be "robotronic"-ly controlled by the girl who is "The Lucifer." So the auto tune is meant to make them sound robotic.) In other words, the woman or girl they are talking about is so desirable that she is like Lucifer and you have to use all your willpower just to resist her wiles. In the MV you see them trying to fight against Lucifer's powers and resist her attempts to try to make them bend to her will, etc. That's why in the choreography you see all the robotic moves because they are showing how "Lucifer" is trying to control them like a robot -- for example, they put their wrists together like they are being handcuffed to show how she is trapping them. And they vibrate to show how they are being manipulated by "Lucifer" and they are trying to resist her powers, etc. (FYI: That vibration you saw them do is 100% them actually shaking like that, there aren't any camera tricks. If you pay attention when they perform Lucifer live, you will see them do that exact same thing. :D) LOL we have no idea why they had to be dancing in front of a sports car, but that was kind of an iconic thing that Kpop companies did back then in a lot of their MVs, The group would dance around a fancy car to show off their coolness and to give the video a more futuristic, expensive looking aesthetic. "Lucifer" is actually know as one of the most difficult songs and dances to cover because of its tutting and popping and for the fact that it has a very fast paced beat with dance moves that are very sharp and precise which are designed to hit every beat of the song. And the song itself is very complicated with the songs wide range of notes and flow. Many amateurs have thought "Lucifer" looks like one of SHINee's more simple songs and dances. But the minute they try to sing the song and/or dance the choreography, they soon discover that it is way more complicated than they thought. Check out this clip of SHINee teaching a group of actors and comedians "Lucifer" as part of a challenge on the variety show "Invincible Baseball Team." But the first thing Jonghyun said to them, while laughing, was "oh no, actually it's one of our more difficult choreography and it took us extra time to really perfect it." :D SHINee started the synchronized dance trend. But if you see him on his solo concerts all his body is glistening and it’s one heck of a view! Fun fact: I think one reason why Minho's hair is so short at this time is because their previous comeback was with their song "Ring Ding Dong," and, if you remember, all the members had pretty long, shaggy hairstyles. However, Minho has never liked having long hair. So, I think for "Lucifer" Minho decided to rebel and go really short.
This was also the era where Taemin had long hair and it made him one of the most popular of the members at the time, especially with their Japanese fans. The Japanese culture really embraces men with long hair and the members said that he was one of the most popular at the time because of his style. Taemin with long hair is so iconic and many in the fandom were really sad when he eventually cut his hair.
So, in this MV, Taemin had just turned 17. Onew and Jonghyun are 20 and Key and Minho are 18.
"Lucifer" is actually know as one of the most difficult songs and dances to cover because of its tutting and popping and for the fact that it has a very fast paced beat with dance moves that are very sharp and precise which are designed to hit every beat of the song. And the song itself is very complicated with the songs wide range of notes and flow.
Many amateurs have thought "Lucifer" looks like one of SHINee's more simple songs and dances. But the minute they try to sing the song and/or dance the choreography, they soon discover that it is way more complicated than they thought. Check out this clip of SHINee teaching a group of actors and comedians "Lucifer" as part of a challenge on the variety show "Invincible Baseball Team." It's funny because when they came to meet SHINee to start the practice, Jonghyun asked them why they chose this song of all songs, and they said because it looks manly and they thought it was fairly easy to cover. But the first thing Jonghyun said to them, while laughing, was "oh no, actually it's one of our more difficult choreography and it took us extra time to really perfect it." :D
SHINee started the synchronized dance trend. And they made the industry realize that if anyone else wanted to compete they needed to up their game. Before SHINee, no one thought it was possible to sing live and still have impressive choreography, so in live performances groups either sang live and had simple dance moves or they had hardcore impressive dances, but lip synced to a backing track. SHINee proved it was possible to combine the two. That is why SHINee set the standard when it comes to live performances.
Fun fact: Taemin's shirt is an iconic part of this dance practice. He even brought the look back in 2017 in his "Move" dance practice video. LOL
SHINee's "Lucifer" dance practice was the very first dance practice video ever released specifically for fans. They had never made a dance practice video that wasn't just for them to watch, so to SHINee this was just a dance practice, it wasn't a performance video. SHINee is the group that started the dance practice video trend, and they are why dance practice videos are even a thing today. :D Back then dance practice videos were usually only filmed for the group and artists to watch to help them remember the moves and to fix mistakes, etc. They weren't intended for a mass audience. But SM realized that fans were starting to copy SHINee's choreography, so they decided to film a dance practice and release it to the public. SHINee's dance practice videos became so popular that other companies and groups started to follow suit and show off their choreography by releasing dance practices too.
Just another way, SHINee influenced the industry and changed Kpop forever. :D
To SHINee, dance practices are really just dance practices. They save their energy for where it counts, for MVs and live performances. What you saw in their dance practice is only a fraction of what this dance is really like. People never really understand why "Lucifer's"choreography gets so much hype, until they see SHINee perform it live. That is why SHINee are live performance legends.
Fun fact No. 2: As you can see, this dance practice was before SM had their new fancy dance practice room that all their dance practices are now filmed in. Before that room was built, you always knew when it was an SM artist because of that iconic cloud wallpaper. The cloud background in all of SM's most iconic dance practice videos is classic SM.

Ha, ha, Taemin is always like that, it seems like he’s not sweating at all, but of course it’s not true. I think he once said that he’s literally sweating everywhere but not so much on his face. But if you see him on his solo concerts all his body is glistening and it’s one heck of a view! I love Lucifer, it’s one of my favorite SHINee songs and live performances are definitely something else.
