This was filmed before dance practices became such a big things so they're definitely marking it, particularly when you compare it to their live performances. This video is also famous for Taemin's (you reacted to his criminal dance practice) weird optical shirt, funnily enough he has a similar problem with his shirt in his Move dance practice. For a more full out preform i'd definitely recommend their Everybody dance practice. It makes me tired just watching it.
The OG viral dance practice! This was the first idol dance practice video that went famous. Before this, there were just leaked dance practice videos. Nowadays, this kind of thing is almost standard idol thing, with the guys and girls wearing fancy clothes and the practice rooms with perfect lighting.
What I like about this one is that it’s a true dance practice video. Like others have mentioned, SHINee were the first to popularize dance practice videos. Nowadays, we see the near-finished product since groups know that they have to look their best when the video hits the internet. Every now and then we’ll get a behind the scenes of the real dance practice where they’re still working on the choreography. Like NCT U’s “90’s Love Uncut” behind the scenes, you can see how much the choreography changed. Those are always fun to see as well as the polished version. Taemin and his cursed shirt, though...
SHINee's "Lucifer" was released in 2010 so this was at least 10 years ago. Taemin is 16 years old here, and as you can see, he was already an amazing dancer. Funny that you mention Taemin's shirt, because his shirt is an iconic part of this dance practice. He even brought the look back in 2017 in his "Move" dance practice video. The trippy feeling you get, isn't because of the video quality, it's just something about black and white strips that the camera has a hard time deciding what to do with the pattern. I have seen that same thing happen with black and white striped clothing and objects often in videos. The "Lucifer" in SHINee's song is supposed to be a girl who has devilish powers like Lucifer, who is trying to possess them and take over their lives. As the English lyrics say "Loveaholic, robotronic ... her whisper is the Lucifer." (If you notice, they are using auto tune because they are supposed to be "robotronic"-ly controlled by the girl who is "The Lucifer." So the auto tune is meant to make them sound robotic.) So, in other words, the women or girl they are talking about is so desirable that she is like Lucifer and you have to use all your willpower just to resist her wiles. In the choreography you see them trying to fight against her powers and resist her attempts to make them bend to her will, etc., that's why you see all the robotic moves because they are showing how "Lucifer" is trying to control them like a robot -- for example, they put their wrists together like they are being handcuffed to show how she is trapping them. And they vibrate to show how they are being manipulated by "Lucifer" and they are trying to resist her powers, etc. If you want to see where SHINee truly shines you have to watch their iconic performance of "Lucifer" Live in concert. To see them go full out and really blow you away with their talent, you need to see a live performance. Check out their performance at their SHINee World Concert III (SWC3) in Seoul from 2014, ua-cam.com/video/Fm5n8Q2XO34/v-deo.html. SHINee are known for their live vocals and amazing dancing. They are known as CD-quality singers because they sound just as good live, if not better, than they do recorded. SHINee always sings live. So when you hear SHINee singing 95% of the time it will be live. They have trained their entire career to be able to sing live and always sound flawless while performing extremely complex choreography at full power. SHINee set the standard when it comes to live performances. That is why they are so highly respected among their peers. It is literally referred to as the SHINee standard. It's the standard all other groups strive to reach. Their live stages are like none other. Their concerts last 3+ hours straight and they perform nonstop and never sound out of tune or out of breath. They are also some of the best dancers in Kpop and their harmonies will leave you speechless. Where you said you thought they looked tired, that was Jonghyun who is one of the BEST vocalists in the industry, as well as the other member Onew. I don't think they were as much tired as they were just pausing or slowing down because, if you see the MV or a live performance of "Lucifer," at that moment Jonghyun is belting one of the most epic high notes you will ever hear. I think some of what you were seeing was the fact that a lot of SHINee's choreography is designed to allow for moments where the members flex their vocals. SHINee are some of the best vocalists in the business and they are known for, not only being impressive dancers, but having amazing stamina and vocal range. "Lucifer" is actually know as one of the most difficult songs and dances to cover because of its tutting and popping and for the fact that it has a very fast paced beat with dance moves that are very sharp and precise which are designed to hit every beat of the song. And the song itself is very complicated with the songs wide range of notes and its flow. Many amateurs have thought "Lucifer" looks like one of SHINee's more simple songs and dances. But the minute they try to sing the song and/or dance the choreography, they soon discover that it is way more complicated than they thought. It only looks and sounds simple, because SHINee makes it look that way. ua-cam.com/video/0V02cQwYLMQ/v-deo.html. Check out this clip of SHINee teaching a group of actors and comedians "Lucifer" as part of a challenge on the variety show "Invincible Baseball Team." It's funny because when they came to meet SHINee to start the practice, Jonghyun asked them why they chose this song of all songs, and they said because it looks manly and they thought it was fairly easy to cover. But the first thing Jonghyun said to them, while laughing, was "oh no, actually it's one of our more difficult choreography and it took us extra time to really perfect it." :D
SHINee's "Lucifer" dance practice was the very first dance practice video ever released specifically for fans. They had never made a dance practice video that wasn't just for them to watch, so to SHINee this was just a dance practice, it wasn't a performance video. SHINee is the group that started the dance practice video trend, and they are why dance practice videos are even a thing today. :D This was the very first dance practice video to go viral. Back then dance practice videos were usually only filmed for the group and artists to watch to help them remember the moves and to fix mistakes, etc. They weren't intended for a mass audience. But SM realized that fans were starting to copy SHINee's choreography, so they decided to film a dance practice and release it to the public. SHINee's dance practice videos became so popular that other companies and groups started to follow suite and show off their choreography by releasing dance practices too. Just another way, SHINee influenced the industry and changed Kpop forever. :D To SHINee, dance practices are really just dance practices. They save their energy for where it counts, for MVs and live performances. They are experts when it comes to maintaining stable vocals while dancing 110% for hours on end. You will understand why this choreography gets so much hype, once you see it live. Fun fact: As you can see, this dance practice was before SM had their new fancy giant gold door dance practice room that all their dance practices are now filmed in -- like you have seen in all of NCT's dance practices, as well as Kai's, Taemin's and aespa's dance practice videos, etc. Before that room was built, you always knew when it was an SM artist because of that iconic cloud wallpaper. The cloud background in all of SM's most iconic dance practice videos is classic SM. As SM's experimental boy group, SHINee is constantly reinventing the Kpop industry. You will never see or hear the same thing, even on the same album. And with every new song release they are expected to come up with something new in both song and dance that has never been seen or heard before, not only for them, but in the industry as a whole. The industry looks to SHINee to show them what the next song and dance style will be. So when SHINee does something the industry takes note and follows suite. It is said that within 3 months of SHINee coming out with a new song and choreography, you will see and hear that style being reflected in all the comebacks from every group, both boy groups and girl groups. So, after more than 12 years, SHINee has pretty much done it all, and yet, they still manage to set the bar even higher each time. I can't wait to see what they create with their next comeback which is expected to be in the first part of 2021. They are currently working on their comeback as we speak :D
Even though this video was filmed in a microwave, it doesn’t take away from the fact that they are amazing dancers, and this choreography is iconic. Everybody is considered to be their most intense and impressive choreography, mainly because they sing live through all of it and they are STABLE AF. Tokyo Dome is their most famous live performance of that song.
If you want full-out energetic dance practices, you MUST react to the dance practice for Everybody. Others have already said this but yes, they were marking in this dance practice. Before this video, dance practices weren't a common thing. This practice video made them become huge in the Kpop industry. So it's not a polished (basically performance video) kind of dance practice like what we see now with most groups. This practice actually FEELS like a practice, and it is clear neither the song nor the choreo is entirely finished yet. This is the video that grabbed me and dragged me into the Kpop world (blame it on Taemin's shirt), and I still absolutely love it.
SHINee’s choreography are considered as some of the hardest and most intricate in the KPop World. Definitely, they were not giving their all in this video, but nonetheless, they’re still awesome.
The choreo for the chorus was changed a little for the music video, like they opened their arms instead of keeping them on their waist. They continued the MV choreo for the rest of the live performances & yes they were probably marking because unlike the current scenerio in kpop, 2nd gen groups didn't really post dance practices & stuff
this is one of the first dance practices ever filmed, shinee really popularized it. this choreo itself was quite unlike a lot of other ones at the time as well, so it's considered pretty iconic, but if you compare it to their live performances of this song you can kinda tell that they're marking. my personal favorite choreo by them is Everybody but honestly any of their dances are awesome!
The guy with the tripping shirt is Taemin... And yes, they are marking. At that time the dance practice videos were really dance practice videos, now the do super producing videos for the "practice choreos"
This song would go on to set the benchmark for all other Kpop groups to level up in their choreo. After this, Kpop just became more and more of the performance powerhouse it is now.
Yaaayy react to more of their choreography especially for Sherlock & Everybody which both are choreograph by Tony Testa, Symptoms and their latest dance practice Good Evening & I Want You.
This is made in 2010. This video is before any dance practise. But nonetheless this is heart of kpop sound and move.... This us kpop.. still today is a jem
A few of the spots you say specific members are marking are when they have vocals. Like when the rap comes in the member who just stands there has a long high note so in performances that's what he focuses on. He has no actual dance moves there
Let me ask you then, did you ever had a colorful skinny jean during 2011s? that means that the SHINee Trend reached you since they made it popular in the Asian community that time. I would recommend that after watching the dance practice you should continue with a LIVE Performance. Their dance practices feels just a typical dance practice at that time because they made it first so there are no preparations like their clothes, camera quality and stuff. Watching their Live Performance after shows you how they perfectly blend their choreos and songs alive. And it's funny to say 'that guy' to Taemin he's like 17 that time so young and the Baby of the 2nd generation then the oldest member with a cap at 21. If you wanna see them tired just like the guy minho you pointed out, Just watch the Live performances it's definitely a must watch if you react to SHINee. They're not considered CDnee for nothing. Even rehearsals for outdoor shows are great. They are still the trend up to this day the variety in their discography has not been achieved by other groups till today. Their B-sides are quite popular too.
The parts that seem a little simpler or like they're marking are the parts with more intense vocals. They sing live, so harder rapping sections and sustained notes go with less choreo to support that. When they dance, they change the industry; when they sing, they ARE the industry.
What's cool about this group is that they're known for live power vocals, so some of them (esp Jonghyun) would be practicing knowing they have to control their breathing enough to belt throughout half of the song. also I believe some dance videos (especially back then) are filmed for the purpose of showing it to producers/directors and stuff, to music shows so they know who is singing when/who to put the camera on, and for the performers/choreographers themselves to watch back. They would upload *some* recordings for fans kinda as an after thought. and some of the ones out there were just leaked, never really meant to be seen. This one video went viral, tho, and jump started the trend. Because of the intricate choreography and Taemin's fucked up shirt.
(returns an hour later because I went on a shinee binge b/c of you lol) if ur ever curious what this looks like performed with full energy at the end of a set: ua-cam.com/video/mtFK7FxKdLs/v-deo.html
Actually some of the parts where you said the guy was tired or marking, he was actually anticipating holding high notes. You can hear the vocals he would do during those parts playing in the back.
Thank you so much for showing shinee some love much appreciated. Check out everybody by shinee and taemins famous dance practice I think you will be blown away with these two. Thanks again
Yes the King's of K-pop dance. If you can react to shinee Sherlock it's Still the most expensive choregraphy ever in K-pop. It's was made by mj choregraphe for this is it. Lucifer was the first choregraphy respected in the World in K-pop Dance practice back in the days were really dance practice it's not like now when they know already the dance and do a pretty video for the fan.
DO YOU KNOW THAT THEY ARE THE FIRST EVER IDOL WHO RELEASED A DANCE PRACTICE AND THIS IS THE SONG. NOW, YOU CAN SEE THAT MOST OF THE IDOLS RELEASES DANCE PRACTICE WHEN THEY HAVE COMEBACK SONG
Most fans here are correct. SHINee was the first group who intentionally recorded a dance practice. Everyone is recommending for you to react to Everybody, a great video would be their Tokyo Dome performance but Japan has strict copyright issues but since it’s been such a long time you could probably get away with it. In the early years, SHINee raised the bar in dancing. A lot of people didn’t take K Pop idols at that time and when SHINee introduced performances like Sherlock etc they literally raised the standards in the industry.
You need to react to their Everybody dance practice. the amazing thing is that they give more energy in their live performances WHILE they're singing live and the vocals are better than in studio. They pretty much never lip sync (and are terrible at it). I think the dance practices don't give credit to what incredible performers they are - they give everything out on the stage. I'd suggest Taemin's latest: Criminal and Idea if this doesn't impress you as much for being such old choreography.
People mentioning it being the first dance practice in kpop, it was indeed one of the firsts and it contributed to popularize it ( now they all doing dance practices lol) but the first one was actually 2PM in 2008 the quality is even lower 😂😂😂. Also it’s funny you mentioned Taemin shirt it’s been 10 years and the comment section is still full of comments about it
Back then, dance practice video is literally a video of them practicing while also having fun in the process, singing along, playing/goofing around, and flirting in front of camera lol.. Nowadays dance practice is like performing on a stage/like the MV itself. Please also react to Shinee's debut song Replay (2008). It's the song that everyone in the industry know and covered by lots of groups. The news of Shinee's debut only announced by SM just a few days before the debut stage (back then, the use of YT/social media is not as strong as nowadays), they nailed the stage, and become really famous ever since (it's super rare, it usually takes some time for a group to be really famous). Shinee won rookie grandslam in 2008 (won every single rookie awards). The fashion in the MV (high top sneakers, colorful skinny jeans, and outfits) became a trend. • Official MV: ua-cam.com/video/VTASffPQGhY/v-deo.html • Dance MV (not from SM account) for easier choreo analysis: ua-cam.com/video/MiMmtdRfQrA/v-deo.html The dance MV isn't that clear eventhough max 720p, it's better to watch the MV first. I just found the debut stage video lol, they sang live while dancing and their voices are THAT good and stable af ua-cam.com/video/F7MJspHdpJU/v-deo.html
I think it will be better if you do reaction like this. MV + Dance Practice + Live Preformance With this flow, you’ll see all the details. Complete and with substance. Just think about it. It’ll be a long reaction but dang, we’d love to see that. 💞 More SM artists reactions in the future. Thank you. Hwaiting!!!
If you wanna see them do a more all out choreo, check out their performance at the tokyo super dome here ua-cam.com/video/xrQFFIYYkro/v-deo.html Although the camera angles change frequently, their movements here are definitely more all out than the one in their dance video!
Please check out SHINee’s “Everybody”, “View”, and “Juliette!” Also, if you like tutting, I would love for you to react to NCT Taeyong’s freestyles on the NCT dance channel. They are all awesome, but my fav is “Paris in the Rain” in which he tuts.
Yes, the actual performance is sharper. I don't remember if I posted this before, back in 2010 there's Lucifer dance craze and so many countries held dance workshops for this choreo. Lucifer choreographer Rino Nakasone directly taught several workshops in the US.
Shinee has super high songs thats why the choreography isnt as hard hitting as nct, and ofcourse this was way back so its not as super hard. i aint saying it isnt hard. it was super hard but compare to the new gen choreo, the new ones have more technicalities. they are senior of exo and nct from the same company. shinee pulled me in kpop. definitely my first bias in kpop groups
Chris you should also check out Infinite dance practices!! One of the most underrated yet unforgotten kpop group known for their amazing dance performances. They claim the #1 Kpop dance group with Shinee, BTS, Seventeen, DBSK, Teen Top etc. following after. Such a shame that not as many people remember or know Infinite. Only inspirits recall them. Please check them out and give them some love for their great talents as well ❤❤
powerful dance is not the only dance. i can see what kind of dancer you are now. i hope you will grow respect for not so powerful dances because i'm just disappointed. not just you but by every youtuber out there.
Yes! Everybody dance practice would be amazing to see!
Rightttt i love everybody dance practice

Funny that you mention Taemin's shirt, because his shirt is an iconic part of this dance practice. He even brought the look back in 2017 in his "Move" dance practice video. They are still the trend up to this day the variety in their discography has not been achieved by other groups till today. Their B-sides are quite popular too.
SHINee is BACK!!!!!
SHINee the kings of life performance.
The parts that seem a little simpler or like they're marking are the parts with more intense vocals. They sing live, so harder rapping sections and sustained notes go with less choreo to support that. When they dance, they change the industry; when they sing, they ARE the industry.
Well, it is a dance practice, not a performance. So you won't get the same energy as a live performance.
Yaaaaasssss I've been waiting for this ✨✨✨✨
Pls react to Taemin - famous dance practice 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
The SHINee always had good choreographies and the hard ones came out better live. You should see "EVERYBODY"
More SHINee please 😍💙💎
The kings of hard choreography in kpop.
as many have said, they really turn it on for performances
Times were different back then 😊 what they did then paved the way for what we see now
BACK THEN, SHINee IS ONE OF THE HARDEST PERFORMANCE 💎
Actually some of the parts where you said the guy was tired or marking, he was actually anticipating holding high notes. You can hear the vocals he would do during those parts playing in the back.
Im new to the channel, this is probably the most nicest “it’s your boy” branding I’ve seen. 😉 made me smile for a bit.
Yep, SHINee's 'Everybody' choreo is a must-watch! Also, I love their 'Good Evening' too. Some recommendations for ya.
That shirt introduced me to taemin ✌️
ur plants behind always look so gorgeous...
Thank u! It’s all my fiancée April’s work!
Happy New Year for you Chriss...
Thank you for your reaction...
This choreography paved the way for idols to be taken seriously as dancers.
i see you like the SM Entertainment ❤️❤️ good choice brooooo
How can I miss this iconic dance practice haha
Taemin and his baby cheese smile at the end! His shirt really kills my eyes tho lol.
Please wait for this a long time, please keep reacting to the SHINee guys, thank you
Yes, they were marking slightly. The trippy shirt was Taemin.
Dance practice videos back then were mainly for broadcast purposes.. so that the directors knew who to film during their music show performances..
SHINee and their choreaographies kicked off all the complex choreographies that characterize kpop now
The music video makes every part feel a lot faster And hype so to speak
Yaass SHINEE IS BACKKK!!
React to SHERLOCK and EVERYBODY
That iconic cloud wall...
Thank you so much for showing shinee some love much appreciated. Check out everybody by shinee and taemins famous dance practice I think you will be blown away with these two. Thanks again
More from SHINee Please
Taemin's shirt basically catching everyone's eyes who watch this dance practice lmao
Shinee is rare
pls react to WAYV TEN X WINWIN Lovely Choreography ♡
It's one of my fav choreos 💞
The best K-pop coreo ever
Yes the King's of K-pop dance.
If you can react to shinee Sherlock it's Still the most expensive choregraphy ever in K-pop. It's was made by mj choregraphe for this is it.
Lucifer was the first choregraphy respected in the World in K-pop
Dance practice back in the days were really dance practice it's not like now when they know already the dance and do a pretty video for the fan.
Ah yeeeeees, finally some Shinee (full group) on this channel! And yeah, Taemin's stripped sweater is a whole trip lmao.
happy to see you react to this :D
DO YOU KNOW THAT THEY ARE THE FIRST EVER IDOL WHO RELEASED A DANCE PRACTICE AND THIS IS THE SONG. NOW, YOU CAN SEE THAT MOST OF THE IDOLS RELEASES DANCE PRACTICE WHEN THEY HAVE COMEBACK SONG
You should watch more live while reacting to their dance! then you'll get a better feel for their energy
i suggest watching their shinee world stage of ringdingdong and lucifer if you wanna see the real performance!
Yooo this 'marking' video is legendary:""")
Taemin shirt to jksjkajsksjsksjks 😆
Heyyyyy~~ This is that cloud curtains I talked about hahahahahah. Now you know what I mean hehe
Omg even him is nervous with taemin s shirt. 😂😂😂😂
Also it’s funny you mentioned Taemin shirt it’s been 10 years and the comment section is still full of comments about it
Shinee dancin, we trippin 😂
Yes, Taemin’s shirt is the villain in this video 🤣
You should react to Shinee's Everybody choreography
• Official MV: ua-cam.com/video/VTASffPQGhY/v-deo.html
• Dance MV (not from SM account) for easier choreo analysis: ua-cam.com/video/MiMmtdRfQrA/v-deo.html
The dance MV isn't that clear eventhough max 720p, it's better to watch the MV first. I just found the debut stage video lol, they sang live while dancing and their voices are THAT good and stable af ua-cam.com/video/F7MJspHdpJU/v-deo.html
Some additional info, might be too long 🙈
Stripe shirt is Taemin, you will love his solo stuff.
If I'm not mistaken this not the final version. They changed the choreo at the chorus part.
I reccommend shinee-everybody dance practice video 😄
SHINee!!!!! Pls react MORE SHINee 💎✨
SHINee Is back 2021 ❤️
If you're enjoying the different styles of Kpop, you should definitely check out Super Junior's Burn the Floor performance video. It's so different.
I think it will be better if you do reaction like this.
MV + Dance Practice + Live Preformance
With this flow, you’ll see all the details. Complete and with substance. Just think about it. It’ll be a long reaction but dang, we’d love to see that. 💞 More SM artists reactions in the future. Thank you. Hwaiting!!!
SHINee “ juliet”
If you wanna see them do a more all out choreo, check out their performance at the tokyo super dome here ua-cam.com/video/xrQFFIYYkro/v-deo.html Although the camera angles change frequently, their movements here are definitely more all out than the one in their dance video!
Please check out SHINee’s “Everybody”, “View”, and “Juliette!” Also, if you like tutting, I would love for you to react to NCT Taeyong’s freestyles on the NCT dance channel. They are all awesome, but my fav is “Paris in the Rain” in which he tuts.
Everybody by SHINee next please!!
The og
Can u react to their Sherlock? I remember that was (or is?) the most expensive choreo SM ever have
ole ole
Can you please react to SHINee's Your Number? Thank you
you would think taemin would have learned not to do stripes by now, but I think he loves the style and to mess with us
Yes, the actual performance is sharper.
I don't remember if I posted this before, back in 2010 there's Lucifer dance craze and so many countries held dance workshops for this choreo. Lucifer choreographer Rino Nakasone directly taught several workshops in the US.
You have to react to B2ST's fiction, it has some cool footwork!!
Hi, please react to taemin famous dance practice.
ALSO
pls react to SEVENTEEN "Don't Wanna Cry " Dance Practice and 2× speed version
i will continue to recommend this until you'll react to this dance!
Taemin's infamous shirt :)
Please check them out and give them some love for their great talents as well ❤❤
I reccomend to first start with BTD, Paradise and Be Mine. Then branch out after that
powerful dance is not the only dance. i can see what kind of dancer you are now. i hope you will grow respect for not so powerful dances because i'm just disappointed. not just you but by every youtuber out there.
