I've always wondered what these guys were called! So neat. I saw one in my home today and thought it was a roach at first. What a relief that it was one of these little guys. I put him outside and he ran away.
@@metheguy4466I just saw one today, since it was a hot day, it wandered inside! I had him in a napkin, trying to put him outside and heard him clicking on the inside! What a cool and cute creature!
When I was a child I found many of those insects, and perhaps because I was born and grew up in a little ranch, I had fun playing with them. Very beautiful childhood, without technology, but happy.
I was trying to let one outside of my house and I thought I had a firm grip on it and it still managed to work its way out of my fingers like that haha
They have a little thing on the neck. When they want to right themselves up they use that thing on their neck. They hold their neck back a little bit and that thing on thier neck acts like a mouse trap. They spring upward as they click.
I remember seeing lots of these little things as a kid. I always found them pretty neat and would pick them up, and sometimes I'd feel them clicking in my palm lol Unfortunately, one night I woke up to one scratching around in my ear >
This thing scared the crap out of me when I was a kid and I tried to squish it on a light bulb it snapped it's head and I felt it and freaked out but I did almost get to squish it it moved too quick though and I burned my palm and finger on the lightbulb

fun fact: click beetles are related to the famous fireflies/lightning bugs!

He looks like he's sneezing
sneezebeetle is officially an optional alternative name for click beetles in my book!
hes probably allergic to human
This is a great demonstration of their "click" and how they use it to escape predators (or humans in this case), thank you
Fascinating, they draw their heads in and create elastic tension against their body. Great video.
agreed

Beetle is gettng some serious whip lash or really has its headbanging game down!!! That is super neat to watch though.

Thanks for filming it! I was wondering why and how do they make that noise haha

I'm here because I identified a small beetle as a click beetle after it ran on my scalp and then fell down the back of my hoodie. UGH.
Speed this video up & add rock music, you'd get a click bug rocking with the music.
Killed one a second ago ago, woke me up with it’s clicking noise, gave me the creeps
Hello sir.
What is that figure in the background at the very last second of the video?!
Chair/bench
Looks like it's nearly breaking its head off.
