Snowfall in Times Square, NYC | Walking in New York City in the Winter Snow, 4k

- Snowfall walk in Times Square, New York City. It's been a year since I last visited New York. I didn't plan a route for this video. My friend living in Brooklyn sent me a text that there would be snowfall in New York the following morning, so I made a 14-hour drive up to New York the day before and crashed in my hotel room in Times Square at 2 am. The next morning it started to snow, but I was still totally exhausted from the night before. This walk is a bit aimless and mostly around Times Square because I had to start work immediately after and was already out of it. I wanted to capture the contrast between this video and my previous videos from 2019. New York is so quiet. Early apologies for all of the cuts in the recording. I stopped to clear water residue off of my camera lens every so often. Binaural audio for an immersive experience.

Economically speaking, it's the frenzy that makes New York a sustainable project. It's the heat of monetary movement that generates and maintains its wealth.
This is what draws me in economics as a subject: like the life of a living organism, it not only depends on motion but can be defined by the motion itself. It is as if the mechanical energy of voluntary exchanges generated wealth while being transformed into thermal energy. The icing on the cake is that New York looks like a volcano at night when seen from above.

Christmas in nyc is so beautiful especially when the snow is already on the ground :) before COVID people would be outside shopping and having fun.
Imagine so many people in the streets that you can't walk, you're simply carried away in the middle of the crowd. And the stores are so full that there are lines outside. That's my experience with NY in Christmas... Still damn beautiful tough...

Feels like an apocalyptic movie...
No human No noise !
Who is shooting the video then?
It’s 2am
this is on a bad weather day , its loud and the busiest street ever , at night its quiet and peacful
This brings back the sweetness of living in the Big Apple. In 83, NYC was covered in two+feet of snow, and no one I knew fly home for Christmas. I stayed with a loved one, and remember walking the streets in the snow. I was staying in the East Village and a restaurant by the name of David's PotBelly was the only thing open that day, so we went in and got our French Onion Soup, and hot drinks. It was a slice of Heaven...
East Village in '83 was normally a war zone. I'll bet the snow added a layer of calm.
And man do I miss those snowstorms.
Always interesting to hear the perspective of older generations on NY (not tryna say you’re old 😅) because the way the city’s described to me by my mom and my unc seemed to be like a completely different reality from what I know

That's the way we roll in NYC. Why fix the road all the way when you can replace a pothole with metal bump? Don't worry though, all those plates will be removed at some point, the road will be resurfaced, and it'll be a pristine. A city street our forefathers would truly be proud of. Unfortunately, since nearly all utilities in Manhattan run through underground channels, and we'll soon need to dig some holes in that pristine new road to fix/upgrade some cables/pipes/channels, and we'll start the wondrous natural process of road renewal all over again.
