I think the problem with this is that people can exploit it to put less effort into their stopmotions. Like, if you animate a kinda bad stopmotion, and then boost the FPS with AI, it is still going to be bad, just smoother. I think its important to remember that boosting the fps isn't the only factor in making the stopmotion actually look good. Things like easing in and out, and lots of other basic stopmotion things STILL apply and you need to use them to make a good stopmotion.
Yeah I’ve seen a couple of channels with sub-par animation skills and they just interpolated the shit out of it and loads of people were complementing the (fake) smoothness
great video netbrix! The big problem with AI enhancing besides the distortion is that it dosent know how to ease in and out. It just makes the fastest, most linear line it can make to go inbetween frames. Also that graphic you made was amazing!
I'm wondering if any system can be "smart" enough to know that each brick retains a shape and can't pass through other bricks. Like a hybrid motion solver with a frame interpolation
Good video! I think this AI might work in some contexts, however, I often actually prefer the original framerate in most circumstances. I think the slightly rougher movements has a style and gritty realism that is more memorable and unique.
Smooth does not equal better. The non-interpolated looks soooo much better than the interpolated version. (i just think that the interpolated version doesn't follow the principles of animation)
Great video! The animation at the end looks really smooth but the images/frames get mushed in together to make it more alive but it’s very distracting. I would use AI in animations like the way you said it. Great animation nonetheless! 🔥
Hi, Netbrick! I love your video's and it inspired me to! I even made a youtube account about it, all because of you! Thank you very mutch, i'm your biggest fan.
Hey, I have a question. When you use a rig, which rig do you use? Could I get a link? I’m trying to make a parkour animation, and I want to have characters jump over props in my animations for Lego. Thank you.
I can’t remember off the top of my head but I made a video about it you might have to scroll down a bit but it’s called spiderman 1 min v 10 minute v 1 hour stop motion challenge and I talk about it there and where to get it :)
I feel like at 60 fps it looks a little bit weird. the easing in and out is a little off, I think it’s because it makes the perfect in between off the two frames, but how much you move your subject needs to constantly change.
Great video! The problem I have with AI (in my opinion) is that people will put less effort in their work. Art, for example, if they’re wanting to make a realistic photo, BOOM! AI did for them. This doesn’t mean AI is bad, just saying my opinion.
I came across this software over a year ago and tried it out to see the capabilities. My conclusion was that it can be used as a final touch for certain scenes, no different than final stage editing really. But it's not a good way to cut down on your real fps to save time or to render an entire video. Not just because of artifacts (although they're the worst part) but also because certain movements just look worse instead. I also recognize there is some level of elitism in the community of stopmotion, just like there is disdain for CGI in the movieworld. Of course it's partially justified, movie studios using way to much CGI in their films when it should be complementory to practical effects and real world scenes. Same sort of applies here. It's not a cheat code to get a good animation without all the work put in, but it's also not a bad thing in of itself. It's the next step in video editing, I noticed as somebody who just started using Davinci Resolve Studio that this feature is implemented there already, haven't tried their version though. Most of us probably already realize this but, higher fps isn't necessarily better, it's all got to do with what style you want your animation to be. I've seen 8fps brickfilms that are amazing, but that requires animating in a different way than say 12 or 15fps. In the end ask yourself why you're animating in the first place, is it because you just like creating animations? Or do you want to tell a story, or a joke? That's where most of us can improve and where no tool AI or not can really help you much if at all. Be creative guys🙂
Hi, can you please help me with a problem? I am testing with flowframe right now but every video i add ai to it would create obvious distortions in the video, i notice that you dont have the same problem at all, can you please let me know why?
Yep I agree tbh I don’t think it’s 100% bad maybe there’s some reasons to use AI but yeah for the most part I think just animating in the frame rate you want is always gonna look best
Personally to me it looks rlly fake and too realistic. It takes away the charm of animation, smoother isn’t always best. Great video tho! Love the different content
yeah I agree and thanks bro trying to do some different videos in-between stop motions so I can post a bit more regularly, also hyped for your fight scene tutorial video 🔥🔥

Exactly
I don’t trust ai with my animation
Yeah I’ve seen a couple of channels with sub-par animation skills and they just interpolated the shit out of it and loads of people were complementing the (fake) smoothness
that's the thing though, it can't really be used for lazy jobs. it'll potentially improve good work while making bad work look even weirder
It’s more about the story than the frames so I think it’s perfectly fine if you want to do it
Dude 1:33 was such a crazy effect! I love the realistic explosion with the moving lego pieces. I keep replaying it lol
❤ brohammm 🎉🎉
Thanks man haha defo wanna get better at vfx now I’m starting to learn pretty satisfying seeing it come together
great video netbrix!

Also that graphic you made was amazing!
you summed it up nicely
True and if the frames are too much of a gap in movements, it blurs
Pretty interesting concept. I could see people using it to make animations look much smoother but it really ends there
Blud has the most epic come back ever
You've gotten so much better, keep making more your a pro!
This video is so great! It's awesome to see you exploring this topic!
this is really cool, there def seems to be a lot of real usecase for the 24fps smoothing
Bro how do you have no likes!! Let me fix that 😅
I'm wondering if any system can be "smart" enough to know that each brick retains a shape and can't pass through other bricks. Like a hybrid motion solver with a frame interpolation
So glad for your return. Your stop motions inspired me to make my own. Keep up the great vids 👍
Thanks man and you too keep at it :)

For now😢

Im glad your back to uploading
Thanks man

(i just think that the interpolated version doesn't follow the principles of animation)
Yeah that’s pretty much what I think, like it’s kind of cool to look at but yeah I wouldn’t say it’s better
@@Netbrix I completely agree with you.
That's smooth af! 😄
Using AI to boost the frame rate?
More like: Using a controversial topic to boost engagement!
(I jest, I jest)
Bruh
Haha don’t hate the player
this is pretty intreresting. i dont think that ill use it in my animations, but i like how most of it looks
Im so happy ur back 😊
its been so long sents youve uplouded im SO EXITED
Holy crap! When did Netbrix come back! This is awesome!
This is a really interesting idea and you executed it well, good job bro
Man where did you go 😭
Thanks bro

realy good job ! you get my sub !
Interesting.
Woah it turns out pretty good
Yeah definitely looks super smooth
How did you do this, I wanna do it with my own stop motions

My god that’s awesome!!
Nice idea
I personally prefer it when Animation is kinda choppy-ish (animating on 2s f.e.)
With the fire defect, if you were doing an actual short film, you could add the fire with VFXs after the ai improvement, and just use 24 FPS for VFXs.
I feel like at 60 fps it looks a little bit weird. the easing in and out is a little off, I think it’s because it makes the perfect in between off the two frames, but how much you move your subject needs to constantly change.
Yeah pretty much I think that’s the main problem just makes it look kind of robotic
What a.i did you use?

yes finally ur bacc!!!!!!!!
I actually kinda like the more chopier style of animation, but great video

What is the software called???
How do you do the in air stuff because I don't know how

That could be a great tool for stop motion horror
i think even 24fps is too much. i like when you can still see its stop motion but its still pretty smooth. i think around 12-15 fps is the best
Nice
hey can you do good websites for editing?
How do you film slow motion scenes?
What app did you use for this? Really cool video👍👍
@jman2787 no the ai
link to it in description bro
@@Netbrix cheers
What ai do you use?
?
I like to animate At 15 fps But what FPS, But do you think that 12 is better?
12 is easier; if you animate at 15 FPS, everything will look faster, not smoother.
What apps?
what app do you use?
I prefer the old fashion kind. Using Ai seems like I’m cheating. But whatever floats your boat.
Yep I agree tbh I don’t think it’s 100% bad maybe there’s some reasons to use AI but yeah for the most part I think just animating in the frame rate you want is always gonna look best
I normally animate 12 to 15 FPS is that good?
How did you do that
Interesting...ive always preferred the look of 12 or 15 for some reason over the look of 24-60
What is the app called?
How do u use the ai
It's the guy from resovoir dogs
Its 2024, why is there no MacOS version of the software?
why no apple silicon support, Macs have crazy neural engines that can be put to use with apps like this
60 FPS is very difucult
I now because Im a lego Animator my self
i feel like this is slightly better than using it on normal animations but still doesn't look the best
What a.i did you use
Bruh is that nice guy eddie
Yep lol
@@Netbrix reservoir dogs fan spotted

I think ai doesn’t need to be used for stop motion. Because it takes away the skill you own
100% right!

Cool
good
Thanks :)
What ever happened to the no way home stop motion
