Arranged marriages - unlike forced marriages - technically tend to let the couple choose if they actually get together. The matches are more like proposed matches picked out by the parents but based around people you know and people who they generally think will be a good match for you. Sure, forced marriages are a thing that exists and they are horrible, but arranged marriages aren't quite that, even if they are old-fashioned and a bit outdated. And here, that's technically an arranged marriaged because they proposed the picks from those, their bunny chose one rabbit.
Just purchased two rabbits from the same person, but who were separated by cages bc "they didn't want more bunnies". Love at first sight (or touch rather) instantly! They're so adorable together.
Did you get them spayed and neutered so they can be together? We rescue bunnies and after they are spayed/neutered we put them together and give them the run of the house.
@@balthasargerard7246 Didn't you understand what she said: The rabbits were in separate cages because they didn't want babies. So you fix them so they can be together and not have babies.. What is your problem??
@@buddyglynn6173 Sounds like the previous owners kept them in separate cages, not the person who left the comment. Whether they are fixed or not is a legit question as rabbit are very prolific baby-makers.
I'm just now seeing everyone's replies so allow me to explain: I did not fix them. The older lady who had them was more into breeding, raising and selling her fowl than anything. The rabbits were just pets her grandkids had and played with until the "new wore off" (yes I know how disdainful that is, but it worked out in the end for myself, as well as the pair of bunnies). So she didn't want babies no, however I do. Myself and my family eat meat, and the plan is to raise our own meat for the freezer. The original pair will be pets. Once designated as such and named they won't ever be butchered. Once they're past production age, they'll be fixed and retired. I also plan to give the young chances to be sold, prior to freezer bound age (not on or around holidays such as Easter though where they're often purchased as a temporary fad for kids who outgrow them same as the lady's grandkids did). The female should currently be pregnant, and we eagerly await our first litter.
I loved having a rabbit. My uncle got me one as an easter present (much to my mom's dismay; she didn't like keeping animals). I was always trying to sneak him into the house, when he was supposed to stay (for the most part) in the indoor porch. But, he was so huggable, and loved getting hugs. It was a win-win situation if you ask me!

For those who live in the UK, Marmite is a very good bunny deterrent. (Other yeast extracts are available!) I smeared it on all my table legs and doorframes, and my bunbuns never went near them. You can put sellotape on first, and smear that with Marmite, to protect the wood. Eventually, the buns get so used to not going near the wood that you can take it off and they still won't try to nibble. Thanks to the posters of this video for mentioning the need for hay 24/7. So many people think it's OK just to give them fruit and veg, but if they don't get hay they are likely to get gut stasis, a horrible condition that many buns die from. Always look out for any signs of it - lethargy, sitting in the same position without moving - and get them to the vet immediately.
As others have said, they arent all they are cracked up to be... Our female rabbit we had years ago was a cantankerous creature who'd nip at you to get you to move (rabbit teeth hurt) or if you tried putting her on your lap, would turn anything on the ground into small pieces, cables are slashed to hell and back if she got near them (we had to block off alot of places behind things to stop her getting around dangerous stuff) and she turned a cane basket into splinters over a couple of years... unfortunately unbeknown to us it was that cane basket that eventually killed her, as she'd been digesting small parts of it (it never looked like any of it had been eaten, just clipped up) and it started to clog her digestive system. If you do get them you have to be aware of all the problems and be ready to rabbit proof your house.
2:50 - "You _just_ have to change your whole house." Oh man, this is why I don't have pets. Or children. ...My plants require more care than I'd like, already. (And they don't run away when I cuddle them.)
I loved having house rabbits. It was just the best. I had other pets but everyone got along great. To keep the bunnies from chewing my couch legs I put an essential oil dispenser at the ends of the couch. Bunnies can’t stand strong smells so I would keep them from getting behind the couch with an all natural scent. They would move away from the area and my couch was saved! Lol. But the rest of the house was opened to them. Lots of room to hop around and play. Bunnies are very clean animals and I had two litter boxes. One for each bun. My mini lop lived to be 15 years old!❤️

Bunnies are amazing and have their own personalities. I have two very different rabbits who love each other just like these two, they're both wonderful in their own ways and both very friendly (with me, at least!) but they're totally different people!
I am a firm believer that people if they want to have a rabbit, need to have two. Rabbits need their bunny bond. They will still show you affection and it is no harder to look after two. The best thing is when you are giving some pats and love and a bit of a face schmooshle to hear that little chatter thing. Rabbits all have different personalities. And are so interesting. I had three rescued. Nigel, Stella and Endicott - I miss you guys... yes, Stella was a dude...
I just got my bunny a husbun this weekend the same way- bonding with one at the rescue! So excited to bring them home tomorrow after their week-long bunnymoon!

But do they poop all over the house? Or are they litter trained?
@@hyacinth8844 mine are littertrained. The trick is to make sure their hay is hanging in their litterbox. They poop while eating. And to avoid that they chew in your furniture: Spray chili-water on your furniture (it doesnt stain and you can wash it off later on with a wet cloth).
Oh cool
What is so nice is that their owners recognized their need for companionship AND made sure they were fixed so no babies came from the partnership. If only every rabbit owner was so compassionate and smart! Thanks for this! I miss my bunnies. I had my last one til he died of old age.
Yeah: if you don't take steps to stop it, they can breed like humans!
@Wildcard yeah... that's probably why they got them fixed lol
What do they mean they can’t make babies. Did the owners removed a part of them?
@Shumaker No bro they should have left them pop out 7 bunnies every month and then dump them or something right?

I had rabbits for pets, they eat electrical chords, chew wooden furniture, leave round poops around the place. Other than that, if you can cope with this then have a rabbit. If you have germ phobias, don't do this.
Same experience with my bunny!! I loved him SO MUCH-- but he chewed EVERYTHING he could get his teeth on, including my clothing if he had 3 seconds! Digger was a dwarf Netherland rabbit. I assumed it was an arranged marriage by the parents, but the bunnies actually got to choose! I'm impressed, that was very thoughtful.
*Agreed!*
It technically is still an “arranged marriage” because he was introduced to her. They were responsible for picking different candidates for him.

@@buddyglynn6173 why don't you mind your own business?
Sweet big bunnies. They are full of surprises. So loving together. Love them!
I wish more people treated rabbits like you...I had a rescue bunny...half Flemish..half lion head...we adored him...
The level of cuteness is off the charts!
"They even go to the toilet together"
If that's not a sign of true marriage, I don't know what could be 🤣 These bunnies make such a cute couple! May they live many years healthy and happy together with their human pawrents! 💕

I’m so sorry for the loss of your bunnies. Just always know there are bonded pairs just waiting for good homes at the Humane Society, animal rescue operations and there are some pet food stores that really care about animals and adopt them out working with Foster Parents who bring in the animals when the pets are ready. I’m older so I’ve lost many pets and many times I thought “no one could replace ______”. But when I’m ready I adopt and fall in love all over again. They all have their own personalities but I haven’t met one I didn’t love. Or if there’s a small animal rehab or foster centre around you could volunteer until your ready to make the commitment again. Such a small amount of work for the love and laughs and comfort they give us 🐰🥕💝

The fact that they didnt knew theyre sitting on a dead animals skin
It's always so nice to see good people in this world doing the absolute most to make sure their animals are happy!
It is also an effective deterrent for many humans...
The ultimate cute and cuddly pets!
No they are work.
Lol. My rabbit is not cuddly, at all. He bites anyone that underestimates him and want to hold him.
@@JuicedUpLemon They look cute and cuddly... That's where it ends. lol
I prefer cats

Bux finally found somebunny to love! 💞
