Fantastic, love that you make the distinction on strategy and tactics. However, you don't lose when you can't draw cards. It is more complicated, Page 14: If a player has no cards in their hand and deck at the end of a round (after the upkeep phase), they lose and the other player wins. If both players would lose this way, the player who controls the battlefield at the end of the round wins.

Stephen Lake you are right, and that's of course what I meant, I just needed to also say "and no cards left in hand" but thanks for clarifying for those watching!!

Nice Job, when it comes to expensive cards, early in game I usually do a "would I rather" exercise.
    Would I Rather have...
    A Millennium Falcon or...
A DH17 pistol and a Holdout Blaster and a Jet Pack
For me the answer is clear, sure it won't do a massive single hit but the damage will be much more consistent.

This is a great intro. I'm familiar with other card games but it's very helpful to have control redefined for what it means in Destiny.

Marcus Sundbom my pleasure bud; always good to see people new to the format delving in deep... there's so much to learn but it will come slowly and surely!

People around me are having a rough time knowing when a mill deck has done it's thing. You're not the only one to make the mistake by saying the game is over when there are no more cards to draw, but so many people are learning to play by watching these videos (which is awesome), but when an error is consistently made again and again in a variety of videos (and you're not the only one), it leads to a great deal of confusion and sometimes frustration.
The game ends via mill when there are no cards in your deck or your hand, at the end of the round (after the upkeep phase).

ragingmonkey137 we've not been playing it wrong, just a slip of the tongue, which is getting picked up by lots of people :p

Just to clarify, the game ends via mill when there are no cards in your deck AND your hand, at the end of the round after upkeep phase. This is probably what you meant, just the "or" isn't exactly correct.

one thought on that launch bay deck. turn one is not reasonable or help full, but i personally have seen decks that can push it out turn 2 with 4 cards left in hand very consistently ah-la acbar, logistics and smuggling, you could grab the falcon the same way, but its not as valuable at the bay or even first order tie half the time if you are running fin... this is my off deck lol.

Round 1 Falcon isn't to bad with Poe. Get the special (if you go first you can use Emperor's Throne Room), get 1 resource then pitch Falcon to Poe resolve the 2 resource side and now you have 5 for the Falcon you can play off the Poe ability. I'm running a Poe 2x Hired Gun "Combo" deck that tries to set that up and abuse Hyperspace Jump to box your Opponent out while slowly killing their guys off.

Stephen Uhler this deck the guy mentioned had no Poe in sight... was trying to get 5 resources together and play it out. It's just not a realistically achievable strategy to aim for given the current pool.

Severn Gaming Network I have to agree that just rolling to 5 on T1 is gonna be pretty rough haha

on the topic of agrro don't be adraid to have control. the focus sides of your dice can be really important especially if you have a lot of modded sides.

    • @severngamingnetwork
      @severngamingnetwork  7 років тому +1

Tor Lumnitor Absolutely; although using focus sides to turn your die to their damage sides wouldn't (in strategic terms) be called "control"; remember, the heart of control strategy is "yes, you can do that... no I won't let you do that". A "control strategy" is about controlling your opponent; maximising the damage output of your own dice (through focus or cards or whatever) is simply a part of an aggro strategy (focus style effects are helping you to bring damage to the table).
