    McFarlane can't handle criticism in the slightest... clearly, and scaling is one of McFarlane's biggest problems when he can't even get scale right within his own figures!

    • @DerrickVanderspoon
      @DerrickVanderspoon 23 дні тому +14

      It’s not that he can’t handle criticism, it’s that he knows how he wants to do figures and some criticism gets to a certain point where it’s just like “hey, if you just don’t mess with the way that I do things, just don’t buy from me”, and that’s a very valid viewpoint because tbh some criticisms are totally subjective and don’t actually have anything to do with the functionality of the product. Hes shown a total willingness to make changes to figures based on legitimate criticisms like getting rid of the side eye, switching from ball hinges to sculpted hinges, getting rid of the useless card stands, introducing cloth wired capes, etc., but some “criticisms” are really petty and aren’t worth being taken into consideration at all, and he’s just able to draw that line firmly. I respect him for not bending over backwards to placate people who are always going to find something to complain about

    Who said ML in the standard in height? If u actually measure a ML they are not true 1/12 scale. They are ML 1/12 scale. Super 7, NECA, SHF, best action TMNT don’t all scale together, but no one is trying to get them to change their scales size. It’s all the ML collectors who want Todd to change the DC scale… yes you’re right u would want all your figures on your shelf to be in scale with each other, just have more than 1 shelf. Your whole collection doesn’t have to be ML scale.
    IMO you’re not gonna get Todd to change his way of thinking, it’s what got him to where he is today. I don’t think he was saying anything negative about Sharts collection, he was just pointing out facts. I know Todd is tired of hearing about scale. Every time a UA-camr interviews him, they talk about scale. I’d be a little frustrated too.

      I hate hearing about scale. 6 inch is a boring scale. 7 inch is the superior scale. Almost every line I collect nowadays but legends are 7 inch or higher. People need to get tf over it. Idk why you’d be mixing your toy lines in the first place.

  • @Ghostfigurestt
    @Ghostfigurestt 24 дні тому +6

    The larger scale bothers me less than the fact that the figures often barely come with anything. Even marvel legends have begun to learn and most recent releases all come with extra hands, head/power effect/claws or something and we can argue they still should include more. Plus the headsculpts on many of his figures have a goofy smirk or expression that you are stuck with and it turns me off from getting it. Jada toys sf line has a decent model everyone can learn from. A neutral headsculpt, an action headsculpt, some representation of powers, a pair of extra hands and a stand for the effect. If more companies followed this model we would all be better off.

    • @DerrickVanderspoon
      @DerrickVanderspoon 23 дні тому +5

      In 5 years, Jada Toys will be out of business or resorting to the same tactics that Mcfarlane and other toy companies use right now. I don't think Mcfarlane attacked, lol. He was trying to prove a point. Let's be real I buy what I love. If I buy big figures because it's either I love that character or it's cool to have on display. I don't get that the statue/ figures should scale. Now, if he will do a Fantastic Four team display, then yeah, Ben Grimm can't be the size of Sue Storm, lol. I think if Mcfarlane did Marvel action figures with articulation, then yup, you need them to scale with Batman Superman, etc... I would love a giant Ben Grimm figure in a ❤ beat! - Luke

    S. Prime you did well. Mcfarlane Always had an ego issue. He can't take criticism without being a smart a$$ sarcastic jerk. And yes, he doesn't care what "fans" have issues with. "Shut up and gimmie your $$$. " Would of liked to heard his thoughts about that ridiculous crowd funding for a mere figure bullsh*t.

    ~sigh~ I want my collection to seem like it's all in the same world. I don't want a Robin that towers over a Batman. For me they are not just collectibles to enjoy on their own. They are characters used to create scenes. That's why team building is a thing.

    I do care a lot about the scale of the figures to be compatible with each other ...but 6 to 7 inch works well with each other I do toy photography and stop motion videos and my mcfsrlane figures. Scale well with my marvel legends my mastervers my dragon Ball my diamond select neca super 7 etc. .. tilt is minimum so it didn't bother me at all because they do look well together

    • @BoogSReviews
      @BoogSReviews 23 дні тому

      I do toy photography too and never had an issue. I never leave my figures in a vanilla pose, so I never notice a height difference on figures.
