  • Today I'm looking at 5 new AI tools, updates, and workflows to experiment with in your creative projects. Starting with Semantic Palette, a text-to-image generator that lets you paint semantic meanings to create artwork. Next, learn about Magnific's new style transfer feature that transfers styles between images. Then, see how Kaiberr's new 3.0 motion feature can upscale and enhance low-res animations. Get an update on Meshy's 3D in-painting tool for editing 3D models, and I'll explore Say Motion, a text-based character animation tool.

      The lip sync is going to be really awesome! Having run this experiment a few times, it does seem like the best way to go is to export individual clips and and render each one separately in Kaiber, then reassemble that output.

      I get it, but honestly, your skills are still equally as important, and nothing in this tech takes away from that. If anything, it is more of an asset to you when/if you leverage them.
      Check out Martin Nebelong as an artist who does real time 3d sculpting with the Latentent Consistency Models (he’s the one that drew the tree example early in this video)
      Even in the case of Semantic Palette, in this video: your skills learned will aid in things like composition or lighting/shadows.

    Question for AI Artists:
    There are many different types of art and many different artists but there seems to be one common denominator:
    Style.
    Not that all artists have the same style rather it is the opposite. That each artist has their own unique artistic style.
    Even when one artist copies another artist the copy won't be perfect because of stylistic differences in their art.
    What do you think determines style within AI Art? Is it simply the whim of the machine?
    Or do AI Artists have control ? What makes one AI Art unique from another.

    • @TheoreticallyMedia
      @TheoreticallyMedia  2 місяці тому

      I mean, hopfully some other answer here as well, but I think on a higher level (not just prompting once and calling it a day), it comes down to how you will further manipulate the image. There are some who will bring it into Photoshop and continue to tweak it-- treating the AI Render almost as if it were a raw material to be sculpted.
      Others will run it through additional processes (such as Magnific), and as you see here, you can choose to aestheticly style it with a different input. That alone, I think will result in wildly different visual outputs. And if you were to do so with, say-- a photograph you took, that could result in a "unique" style.
      We're still early in these days-- but I think we'll see someone "pop" with a signature visual style that was crafted beyond a prompt.
      Of course-- everyone will then copy that-- but hey, that happens in traditional art as well!

  • @Arperture
    @Arperture 2 місяці тому +1

    My lone gripe about Magnifique is the pricing model. That keeps a lot of people from investing in it considering the generation limit per month.

    • @TheoreticallyMedia
      @TheoreticallyMedia  2 місяці тому

      100% agreed. I'm (obviously) not privy to their operating costs, but I really wish they could reduce the costs. It's funny, in one thread where someone brought that up, someone from Scenario.AI chimed in, basically defending Magnific, citing the hours/GPU cost of their own upscaler...so, I guess it's reasonable at an independent level?
      That said-- at the end of the day-- for the end user, it is quite a bill!

    'Roundhouse time' HA! Few months is like a few years in human time. I keep saying that. By the time I'm done saying it, we have 3D 'time and action' inpainting! Looking at Starship Troopers again feels like a 'Look son, this is what CGI looked like' moment. Thanks for the video. 💯 We're probably the same age, so good job keeping up with it all. 👍 I'm still stuck on cool images on MJ.

    • @TheoreticallyMedia
      @TheoreticallyMedia  2 місяці тому

      I went down a bit of a Starship Troopers rabbit hole for this video, and man- that first movie still holds up so well. Even the bugs, which was early CGI, still look great!
      I still maintain, it’s the mix of practical and CGI that will stand the test of time.
      And man, if we’re about the same age, how amazing is all this? I haven’t been this blown away since the early days of the internet!

      @@TheoreticallyMedia This is insane, without a doubt! They're all tools at the end. The intent and innovation in _using_ them is what will make people stand out. I believe people will connect better with what they feel versus just how good something is technically. I mean Sora - does it look incredible? Yes. Will a million people start generating in the first second? Yes. But it's the ones that'll grab me by the cuffs and heart and mind that'll make an impact. AI doesn't need a soul. We need to instil ours. [continue middle-aged retired artist's philosophical narrative here]

      Haha, I thank you for your service to one of the all time greats!
      I think there are for sure some use cases that we'll see AI generations (in whole) in films. Actually, just recently the film Late Night with The Devil (which I can't wait to see) came under some flack for using 3 shots that were AI Generated. I don't know the context, as I haven't seen the film-- but, I believe they are still images or props. Which, makes sense to use AI, as it is a low budget indie film.
      On the larger scale, I think we'll see AI elements used as assets in larger production VFX pipelines. I know Cuebric is talking to a few VFX houses about how to integrate. But, to your point, I agree: No one is going to be prompting: "Make me the 3rd act of Avatar"

      Definitely cranked up the saturation and likely did other modifications to the original.
      I mean, it's a very nice image.

    there's nothing about style transfer in Magnific editor, is this feature live?

      It should be. I should have gone over it in the video, but the Upscale in the top left corner? That button is now a pull-down!

      Hopefully soon I'll have time to do a video on Suno v.3! There is a bunch of AI Music Tools in my backlog that I want to do videos for! LOVE Suno! Fun note: The Starship Troopers segment in this video? Yeah-- that background Sci-Fi Military music, it's Suno!!

    👋
    It would be nice to have every day all day free to play around with every possible tool developed by anyone. Unfortunately for me my time is very limited so I must reserve play time only for tools that have sufficiently high quality output for my needs. Playing around with those tools that aren't is a huge opportunity cost.
    It's one reason I'm not seeing any publicly released AI video tool at this time worthy of my play time.
    I patiently await the public release of SORA. 🙏

      @@TheoreticallyMedia I actually like the example for the roughnecks series how you upscale but the result was 50/50 at best the troopers became highly detailed but they all got the same face the land scape not so much the Mechas they lost some details and etc I hope A.i fix this feature as time progresses but nice example

      Yeah, I wouldn’t say production, unless you are specifically going for an effect, but certainly for cool experimentations.
      Like, music videos I think would be an awesome example. Or a really cool short form video.
      One spot it would really work is for a dream sequence in an otherwise “normal” movie
