      The ATEM Mini has no way to connect to the internet for livestreaming. It outputs either HDMI which you can connect to something like the Webcaster, or appears as a USB Webcam so you can connect it to a computer and stream from there.

    A way to solve you audio delay problem on the ATEM is to use the XLR audio adapter on the GH5. Audio is now in sync with video.

    • @aaronpk

      That's certainly another good option! I sometimes like running the audio through a separate device so that I can have another backup recording of the audio too though. In particular the one I'm using can record two versions of the signal at two different levels.

    • @aaronpk

      Correct, only static files are supported in the media player. Even their next couple models up support only static files, you have to go up to a pretty fancy expensive model before they support animations.

One question: Can you explain in detail how to setup picture overlays (i.e. lower thirds) which can be toggled off and on together with with picture in picture without using the software but only the buttons during the live stream? @@aaronpk I'm not sure to be honest. What I was planning on doing were a series of fireside chat live streams to LinkedIn but if the lips are out of sync then I'm worried. How would it work using input delay Aaron? Here's what Sound Devices said "The input delay may help out but it only goes up to 30ms and depending on your frame rate, may not be enough. 60 FPS is 50ms whereas 23.98 is 125ms for just three frames."

    • @aaronpk
      @aaronpk  4 роки тому +1

      @@GaryStockton ah if 30ms is the most then it may not be enough. The other option is to run the audio from your MixPre into a camera, and that will avoid the issue too. Lovely video once more. Why did you choose the Webcaster X2 over the Atem Web Presenter? Price?

    • @aaronpk
      @aaronpk  4 роки тому +3

      The Web Presenter is more an alternative to the ATEM Mini than the Webcaster. It just appears as a webcam to a computer just like the Mini does, it doesn't actually stream to UA-cam directly, so you still need a computer or something that can stream. The Webcaster takes an HDMI input and connects to the internet and actually pushes the livestream there.

    Hey! I found your videos after I bought my ATEM Mini. I'm working on a setup where I've created multicam via an Atomos Shogun 7 and then Blackmagic Bi-Directional HDMI/SDI converters so I can loop all of my cameras into the Shogun for multiview and individually recording each camera feed. It's also great for backup switching. My question to you is the one thing I haven't figured out yet is do I get the Epiphan X2? Do I use OBS studio? What have you found to be the best way to go about that? From this video it's sweet to know the X2 has that output where you can see the chat window. I'm just wondering how much more beneficial is it to have the X2 do the heavy lifting aka encoding vs. a Macbook Pro running OBS? Thanks in advance!

    • @aaronpk
      @aaronpk  4 роки тому

      That's quite an expensive way to get multiview but that's awesome!
      I prefer using dedicated hardware for streaming rather than OBS. I find that OBS makes my computer fan turn on pretty quick which gets noisy. I also like that the X2 has the live chat view on the monitor too.

    • @aaronpk

      Thanks! The limitation of the G7 is it can't output over HDMI while recording. Another kind of capture card won't help unfortunately. There are other cameras that can record and output over HDMI at the same time but they are often more expensive than the G7.

    A cheap Behringer mixer with unbalanced master output works very good and it has phantom powered XLR inputs too which = access to a ton of cheap music recording mics that´s on the market today like the 50 usd SubZero SZC-400 Condenser Microphone. They have a cheap mixer with 4 XLR inputs and a few line in inputs too. With a mixer you can add a lot of mics on top of the cam mic inputs. You can hook up two mixers to mic/line in inputs if you want as long as it´s unbalanced on the master out. A mixer makes it possible to change EQ and send effects...........

    • @aaronpk

      @BurninSven1 4 роки тому

      @@aaronpk I forgot to write thanks for all the cool tips thanks for sharing. I just wanted to share this.
      You already have an extra device hooked up to it. A mixer would replace it and make your setup cheaper and more flexible and easy to set up regarding soundquality not having to go in to the software to change EQ settings and Pan etc etc. If you need more than just one external mic it is going to get messy anyway.
      I fire my Mini up with a laptop hooked up to it so I can set up stuff in the software but then I can unplug the usb cable if I want or need to and still being able to change the audio. For all the rest the Mini can do like pip cams and stuff I mostly use Camtwist that can do a little more of those things.
      I also do not use the USB out for the video stream I use the HDMI and a Pcie capture card so the audio stream is going directly in to the HDMI since there is no compression.
      I have´nt done any tests yet but I think the delay might even get smaller over all without to much USB involved.

      It's been a while since I've used an avermedia device, but the last time I tried, I ended up returning it because it was too aggressive about refusing to record HDCP signals. It was unable to record from a mac at all because the device advertises HDCP support and then the mac sends an HDCP signal and then it refuses to record. Yeah that's another option for sure. Doesn't work in every case though so it's good to know about the audio delay option.

      You'd need an external monitor like the Blackmagic Video Assist or Atomos to apply the LUT externally before it's brought into the ATEM.

    I don’t hear any traffic noise - possibly because there’s another disturbance: Some pretty annoying music. (Music during speech is always just bad).
