I've had this watch since it was released in the UK and the only issue that's ever bothered me is that sometimes the software updates knacker the watch to the point that I have to give it a factory reset to fix it, but this might be an isolated issue and I suspect it's more of a problem with Wear OS than it is with the watch itself. Other then that I think it's a brilliant watch and the only Wear OS/Android Wear watch I've owned that pretty much doesn't lag at all. Plus because it's an AMOLED screen you can save battery just by having a mostly black watch face, and because it has an ambient light sensor hidden underneath the glass you can set the brightness to automatic which is great if you're someone who likes a bit of star photography and doesn't want to deal with screen glare every time you go to look at the time.
You know, this is not against you, it's something for all reviewers out there. You might consider a move on transparency, that is, make a statement on a product or products you are reviewing about whether this product is returned to the company or yours to keep. You understand that, for us viewers, it does make a huge difference, a return product would have a easier "objectivity" tag attached to it (not always 100% true but... it helps), a product you keep on the other hand, many of us would consider that you will not be as negative as a reviewer of that give product. Again, this not personal and I am not stating you are "on the take" at all, speaking in general, transparency always helps.
Thank you so much. Purchased my Gen 5 while vacationing in Las Vegas. I did get quick information in the store but your video was very helpful. Once again thank you!
@@raidameen8914 i absolutely love this watch! Would definitely purchase again. The look us fantastic, and can go from classy to casual. Great purchase and worth the $! Very sturdy and durable.
Just bought one of these watches for Christmas. Watched your video to check out how to set up and all the features. I think it looks like a great watch! Thanks for the video!
This is one of the nicer looking smart watches I have seen, I like the concept of compact wearable tech, it feels spy-like but I don't think a computer display will ever replace the aesthetic value of my analogue watches. I would only ever use it for the time anyway and of course battery life and longevity will be sacrificed. I would however very much like to see a decent quick-draw camera and warm LED flashlight built in, and can a watch make radio calls?
You're quite a bit positive about this watch without ever mentioning the many downsides of this watch. Battery is a HUGE concern all over the web, it has pathetic battery life, WearOS often crashes, connectivity issues, buttons will break, speaker will crackle, and I'm only mentioning some... many other too like GA not always working. My main concern with out-of-the-box reviews like this is they give a totally false view of the item, not only the item must be used for a while but one should also research the item on the internet and see the major qualities and flaws related to it before concluding a review on a given product.
I owned this same watch, in terms of the program it is beautiful and good touch and all its advantages over the others, but there is a problem which is the speed of the charge discharge
he probably didn't know about it, or this particular model doesn't have it, but i believe he would have mentioned it. So i suppose option 1 is right guess :-)
Not missing.. he wore it on right hand and it's pretty difficult to rotate the crown while it's there! And yeah.. rotating crown IS available in this model and they wouldn't actually remove that feature 😁 I mean.. why right? Thx for the review brother! It just keeps reinforcing me to buy it 😅
@@GermainStaquet he knew about the rotating crown I guess, because he is wearing watch on right hand he might felt difficulty while rotating the crown.

It sucks for you guys that wear OS still lacks the ability to flip the UI to wear it on the other hand. Having to use my thumb for all the buttons, and trying to avoid covering the screen with my hand when rotating the crown would drive me crazy.
Hi, I'm writing to you because I saw that you are the most competent and the best connoisseur of Fossil smartwatches. Specifically, I just bought a used Garrett HR 3565 and I have a question to ask you. It concerns the fact that despite having set the "answer mode on the watch" sometimes, or rather often, it resets itself so after the first ring the call opens on its own, without me having pressed anything on the display and I can only answer from the phone. Ditto when I call and they answer on the other end, I can only speak from the phone although by double-checking the answer mode settings they are set to ANSWER FROM THE WATCH. What and where am I wrong? Thanks in advance
Reavere it's roughly 4 hours of screen-on-tine, but that's just a stupid thing to say. What's the battery life of your phone? Probably 5 hours of screen-on-time, does that mean you charge it every 5 hours?
My Carlyle switched itself off suddenly after about 2 weeks of moderate use on the arm with battery 70% and can now no longer be started. In addition, the metal rings for the charger started to rust after such a short time! ! If you stroke the edge of the display with your finger, it feels sharp-edged. In my opinion, this watch has very little to do with "high quality". The battery is still completely inadequate and only lasts for one day when you accept a lot of restrictions, which means that the watch is no longer fun to use. The display doesn't cover the whole front, but has a good 2mm wide edge all around! My 4 year old Moto360 has the same diameter, but a bigger display (it goes from edge to edge as it should be)!! The display of the Carlyle is a bit too small. WearOS is still buggy, insufficient and torments you with poor adjustment possibilities. For example, you can't set a basic brightness with the automatic brightness, which is why the display is always a tad too dark. Even the time until the clock goes back into standby cannot be set and is often not even enough to read all the data. If a pulse measurement has been requested, the watch does not consider it necessary to show the user the result first, but goes back to standby before, so that you have to activate it again to be able to read the result. etc....etc.... Also the Fossil adaptations are still buggy. If the clock goes into the power saving mode, the user-defined settings are lost each time. The pushers protrude so far and are so easy to press that I always accidentally started an app when the watch slipped to my wrist. I thought I'd try WearOS again after 4 years, but I'm really shocked how little has improved since then!
Do you recommend this smartwatch? I want to buy one for my brother but I don't know whether to buy this or not, I've seen a lot of bad reviews about this smartwatch as well as good reviews, but I don't know if this is the best option or if there are better options.
