Dead Vuse Alto Pods - How to Test for Weak and Dead Pods

  • Learn how to electrically test your pod's coil / heating element before you refill. I keep a pile of pods around and refill them once in a while. In my pile is a mix of good pods, weak pods and dead pods. Refilling them is a gamble. With a Ohm meter, I can weed out the bad pods.

    Thank you! I’ve been having pod after pod burn out and this helps me understand a little better.

    It sucks that I have to be Mr Wizard if I want to smoke. I'm just going to build a little one hitter for my juice.

    I feel like there is a right to sue these companies. Considering how much we pay for Pods. Only for them to suddenly start tasting burnt after a few hours. Pod still barely under the full mark.

    Thanks I have a multimeter and I have gone from fully disposable ecigs to Vuse pods, I'll be keeping testing and where applicable refilling the spent pods now. (I will also try that vinegar soak that was recomended in the comments).

    I think they have changed the element design to make them, ahm.... crappier? Before the package redesign, I was able to refill the pods forever. Now, I get a couple refills, and they will randomly die during a pull. It's always during a pull that they just *stop* and never come back

      I don't know if they changed anything. I still get some that seem to last forever and some that burn out after refill or two. I have a couple of pods I bought a month ago. Those are still working strong after 5 or 6 refills.

      You are absolutely right. I use to fill them over 5x over. Now I’m in lucky if I can refill it 2-3 times.. I’m going to buy a good vape pen soon but I hate when companies intentionally make their product more fragile to sell more. That’s obviously what happened here.

      Think they set how many puffs you can get then it disables the device

    I have no problem taking the plastic part out without pliers. Slip thumb nail slightly under easy side and pull out In a second.

    So three days ago my vuse stopped charging, I had to clean off the charging nodes. Might this be a problem with the pods as well?

      that's very common! you can use a pencil eraser to clean off the little pins inside the battery - that seems to help the most.

    Is there a way you can fix them ??? Please answer back, everyone been showing how to refill but can they be fixed or is there a way to make them hit again??

    • @redneckoriental
      @redneckoriental  4 роки тому +1

      Sorry, like I said near the end of the video at 9:08, no you can't fix it. It's not worth fixing. Just take the coil unit out of one that does work and replace the one that doesn't.

      I’d say just swap juice to a pod that works

    Comments keep talking about soaking the pods in vinegar. Is it Apple vinegar (used for household cleaning)?

    • @redneckoriental
      @redneckoriental  Рік тому +1

      You don't need to soak it in anything. I just refill them. Besides, using vinegar for cleaning or disinfecting is a myth. All it does is make everything smell sour.

      If it isn't producing vape, it's dead...

    I’ve experimented with soaking the pods in vinegar between uses to try to reduce material build up. I also use a toothbrush to carefully remove the build up you see forming close to the pins, crusty ridges.
    Over all, I think it helps. I was consistently getting at least 6+ refills each doing this. The ones that died just quit mid-drag.
    I then went with a boulder wick refillable pod, again soaking those in between uses. However, the boulder pods start to leak after a while through the wick holes.
    Still, I’m convinced you can double the lifespan of any of these pods by storing used pods in vinegar while using another.
    Vinegar is what you use to clean gunk out of fog machines, a vape is like a fog machine because it uses the same materials for the smoke effect.
    Hope this helps.
