Also quick tip for bugs. Use lemon pledge. Leaves a slight film after you spray and wipe off. Makes the grime come off easy and it’s really cheap.

I have been counting on a good layer of ACF50 to hopefully keep the bugs from Sticking. But that motorex stuff realy is my go to these days for a quick clean. Its amazing stuff.

Cool! I'm wandering if I'll get use to go on my bike just by these arrows, no map visible. But not liking phones and gadgets attached to the bike, this is great solution. Just put your phone somewhere you can charge it and job's done. That could be even better with direction letter visible, e.g.; N. That way you always know where you're going. I like your videos, they're short and very informative. Could you please make a full video just about TFT screen and all functions explained? I'm old school and all these gadgets are doing my head. Guess that's the only way right now, playstation bikes...Enjoy your ride!

Yes a full display overview is already on the cards. I’ve just finished a brakes video now. And also tried twice on the adaptive cruise control but I need a better camera set up than I have at present.All soon to be uploaded here though plus more.
Going back to the in display navigation. Yes it’s great option to leave your phone charging in the storage box which has a usb charger inside. Well designed 👍

I went back to KTM after owning four GSA. I’m back on my second KTM adv now and debating on the new one when released here. Had ask the right improvements over my 2019. Though I prefer the “R” myself.

Thats a big statement coming from 4 GSA as they are a well made bike and proved. BUT as we all end up saying.... A lot of KTM has to do with the fun factor...That grin.... Which I think the GSA are amazing bikes and a while back always wanted one. However they are "personally speaking" a bit beige in terms of drama.. IE if you want to buy a safe reliable car for the family you used to get a Volvo Estate.... .... But if you want the same thing but more exciting you buy Subaru Impreza Turbo Estate LOL... You can work out which is the KTM I am referring to lol... The Subaru may not last as long or have the same part support worldwide.. But hey who cares with that grin factor. :)

Hello mate! I have just looked (Apple). And you are right the MyRide app is no longer there! Only Connect... Which is odd as I still have the MyRide app on my phone and still works. Due to this it is not something I have had to look at I guess.
However it does not look too promising yet if you have a 2021> onwards model bike as it states they are aiming to add this for spring (if its anything like their back order of power parts I wont hold my breath over that one). I guess its one of those you just have to keep check on if you want it :(

I'm curious, any other technical issues? It appears from other reviews there seems to always be some menu / tech issues that creep up. This occurs even on professional rider reviews i.e. like Bike World etc.
That just makes me a lot hesitant to buy one! Ugh!

As for technical issues. My only issue from a "glitch" aspect but cannot yet confirm whether it is a process I need to learn and adapt. Is that on occasion my bars will not unlock when pressing the Start button Or Race on button (whatever they call it). After a couple of attempts though it all comes good. I know its not battery related. If it was I am aware there is spot to place the key fob in order to get the strong connection needed if so. (I know that much).
I am trying to Re enact this so I can put a video up if there is a common process in locking it or unlocking it which causes this rare (in my case) event. Nevertheless its something to be aware of.
For me that is the only kind of "fault" which may be user error or require better user awareness. So overall this bike is fantastic.
I have not had the usual high mileage test and long term use that i would normally have given I have been working from home since first lockdown. So only in time will I expect to possibly see how hardy these bikes are in all UK weathers all year round riding, heat burden London traffic commuting day in day out and some off road etc. We shall see. But to be fair haha I would still buy this bike. I have forgotten the grin factor of owning a bike for long time.. Man this makes me feel like a kid again but with a bike that still looks rather grown up!!!
Some as with my self have experienced high speed wobble (pre tankslapper). But I think thats more about poor set up and needs checking. As not everyone has this issue. I am not sure you saw my vid on it. But I went through a few steps to try and fix mine. Which I did to a great degree where I could possibly max out in 6th.
Overall I love it.. and a lot of reviewers also would have one along with all its "characteristics"..

If you have an opportunity to review the windshield, and what the wind noise is like and/or maybe head buffeting??
I've been riding for like 25 years, and between age and wind exposure. I'm starting to experience some tinnitus, even though I've worn ear plugs from the beginning. So in the wind noise bothers me! And Id like to move from my CBR1000RR into a more upright bike with wind protection. btw I'm 5 foot 9 /10 inches.
Would you buy a larger screen? Or how do you feel with the whole wind protection.

Ah ok cool yeah the wobble vid was one where I genuinely had doubts I would improve it! .. Yeah I can be a bit overly meticulous about stuff (its a curse at times when it does not go to plan haha).
As for the wind shield... Well first off I am 5ft 6inch. And as you do I have always worn earplugs. I cannot really confirm the buffeting issue. As on any of my dual sport/ADV bikes I have always preferred to keep the screen on its lowest setting. I have even contemplated getting the "R" version off-road screen.
I also wear a Shoei ADV helmet with a Peak which probably does not help aerodynamics either and associated wind buffeting. Seems your not too dissimilar again as I came from an R1 and have been in part mostly a race bike rider. And for this am used to less in front.
I have heard taller riders do experience wind buffeting and the last resort unfortunately if you cant handle how the stock screen is on its highest setting is to get an after market taller screen. But maybe limited on options at present.
Maybe scour the KTM chat forums and see what like minded tall riders use and see what they experience too.

Question for you! I've got the same bike, and the standard KTM MyRide app is horrendous (the free one). Doesn't seem to even want to show its connected to the bike for calls, music etc even though the bike recognises it's connected. Not sure if you've had any luck with that one? Or any tricks to get it to show up?

Hello Sam thank for watching and the feedback! Sorry but I have only got the paid KTM my ride paid version I think was £6 from memory. So cannot comment on other versions unfortunately. I can say I have had no issues with this version. In fact it connects all the time without needing to do anything. And the on screen nav works a treat. As for the issue with the app. Maybe uninstalling and resinstalling won’t fix it because you’ll need to clear the cache “parts of the app already saved into the phones memory” depending on what phone you’ll have to google it on clearing app info from phone. Do this before reinstalling and should be good to go hopefully 🙏

Haha yeah soda law the paid one “kinda” works so far lol. Glad to hear your sorted though. It’s definitely a useful things to have even if you have a dedicated SATNAV . It’s kinda ok controlling music but to be fair is still an 4rse searching while riding and don’t recommend it for obvious reasons. I normally just play direct from phone to headset and leave it be!

I'll unpair my phone now (as i dodnf have nav app when i paired it originally and try your fix - on basis of course it is a one off fix)

Hi Andrew thanks for the comment and watching. Unfortunately I cannot guarantee this will work anymore as this was done in 2021 when the model generation first came out. Since then the app refused to work and was then superseded. Also I cannot confirm if any software updates to the bike have changed how this works sorry 🙏. But to answer your question yes once paired it did always work. Although I’d you have multiple Bluetooth devices switched on it can get confusing for who should be connecting to what! So make sure you only allow what devices you wish to be connected to be on. I have a headset, a sat nav , phone, bike dash, so you can imagine whichever first connected to what it finds.
Ie my phone might connect to my headset and then my sat nav ply his prevent an additional connection to the bike 👍

Hiya John. I have a 2021 so when it worked..it was purely turn by turn direction arrows. No map. KTM updated the app and pre 2022 bikes stopped working for a while at least. So I don’t know now 🤦♂️🤔

I’ve got the 18 reg bike but no turn by turn nav told me I had to pay extra I already paid extra for the quicshifter and heated grips and was skint was gutted because it would’ve be useful might still get it at some point
Hi Michael ! Thanks for getting in touch. Yeah it’s a great feature to have although to be fair it’s still better to use google maps on a phone. Cheaper to get a mount. Also am not sure how stable the older software is on the older models. I hear a lot of moaning about in display navigation. But the newer models and software work a lot better. The feedback on the forums seems to sound that way anyway. It’s a nice thing to have but probably not worth the extra cost if you know what I mean. It comes as standard on the mew models as part of Bluetooth built in. The tech pack only provides , quick shifter, hill hold, adaptive brake light and few other things.
Yeah it’s probably not worth it I use an ultimate addons case that does the job I just like gadgets so was thinking about getting it but yeah it’s probably not worth it cheers
I’ve used ultimate Addons too in the past. Can’t go wrong with them. But you sound like me and know where your at with regards to wanting the little bits of gadgetry 😂. It’s a curse
Hı Ricardo. I just bought the new 1290 S Adv S. I am using cardo intercom connected with phone. Can I connect to both phone and motorcycle at the same time? I want to see the callers on the screen. I also use the navigation on the phone with the phone holder.
Hello Ulas. It has been a long time since I used this. Also I now cannot connect as ktm my ride app doesn't work for me. And has been superseded by ktm connect which only works with 2022 bikes onwards at present. Very annoying.
Anyway from memory you can only see turn by turn direction on ktm tft and also music library. I cannot ever remember seeing the option of seeing callers or even contact lists shown on tft.
So yes you can connect cardo to phone and phone to tft. But no caller related functions (I maybe wrong as been long time for me) 👍

Hi Rick, been looking at your vids and have just picked up my 2022 1290 sas. I’ve downloaded ktm connect and followed your instructions to the letter. Unfortunately, despite connecting successfully, the turn be turn instructions do not display. If I get a call, that displays on the screen but can’t get the directions up. Any ideas please?

Hello chris thanks for the comment and watching the stuff! I do have to say Ktm since I made that video updated their app and I cannot confirm of all works correctly as it did when I had mine. I used myride app. But believe it’s now called KTM connect. It’s not something I have even used more than just to see if it worked. I’ll have to revisit this and see what has changed 🙏

Hi Dan. Personally I like it. I think it works well for what it is. I still have a dedicated SATNAV for real trips or holidays. But for general day to day it works well. And easier than looking at my small iPhone 12 mini screen.
It’s down to matter of personal preference too. As the phone on the bars does show live map directions. Something that the turn by turn on screen cannot match. And that goes for any turn by turn only navigation system.
But in short the app only cost £6 and that’s for life one off cost. I think most great and can leave my phone charging in the storage compartment while still seeing the directions on the bikes display.
It’s a great alternative option is what I will say. Also I am not sure the BMW app is compatible with the KTM display. You would need to do your own check on that.
£6 for the KTM app. I’d say try it but that’s me.
If you do get it and have difficulty just drop me a message but the video should be clear enough how to connect 🤝

Bought 21 superduke. No ktm my ride in the app store? Did I miss something. Whas really hoping that I did not have to install my tomtom for normal Navigation tasks
Hiya Rob... Yeah bummer... KTM pulled out the KTM Myride and replaced with KTM Connect..... However as you can see from the extrat below from KTM... 21 models or older are yet to be made compatible with this new App.... (tut tut tut... I mean it already worked fine as it was for me... I have not tried it yet as i still have the App on my phone. I shall need to see if it still works. But I know i cannot download it as its not in the store)

There as lever at the left side of the screen just pull the lever and you can manually tilt the screen then just close the lever to kerr we p it in the new place
@@michaelletford4786 no lever on the new one it literally just has a clicker when you rotate it into place. I’ve a very short video in the library on it already as it’s not so obvious how to angle it. It doesn’t pivot , it kind of rotated on an arc. 👍

What is that phone holder mate?
Hiya Marko! That phone holder is the quadlock with an optional extra vibration damper. They are the best I have ever used. I use the vibration damper as when off road I have broken the optical image stabilizer on 2 phones. This apparently is supposed to help. Anyway check them out.. QUADLOCK. .
They require a phone specific case from them, or a universal self adhesive mount to be stuck to the rear of your current case if they dont make the case for your phone, you need to check. Hope that helps Cheers Ric

Hi Ricky, I am pulling my balls off trying connect Garmin XT, IPhone, and TFT successfully. Any success your side in being able to do this and access media so I can play music, get Garmin directions and receive calls etc? I have moved from TT to XT and agree it’s a much better product today, but wish I could get the connectivity to the SAS, GRRRRRRR

As for your question. In short its a shit set up if you are trying to get all that lot together. I have a complete nightmare too and gave up..... In short too many bluetooth signals just causes connection issues. I found anyway.
So I use one of two option. (A) Just connect the phone to the TFT and your Phone to your Headset (Phone has two connections). The TFT (basically just represents whats on the phone).
Or I Connect the phone to the Garmin and also to my Headset... So I can listen to directions and also listen to music (but controlled through the Garmin.... I can either run an SD card in the garmin with MP3s on it. Or it asks if I wish to use the phone's bluetooth conn to play music from my phone but controlled via the Garm)... This is my main driver..
I never use the TFT for anything.. I did the video to simple demonstrate you can connect the phone to the TFT. However the navigation to play and scroll music is a PIA and I think less efficient and not as clear as just tapping the Garmin and Pressing the Music... Quicker And Safer even though you are briefly taking one hand off the bars..

I have found the same and seem to get the XT working with music and directions , but losses the TFT audio connection even though I have used connection option No 2 mobile on Sena. All a bit poor from a real world bikers needs. It seems as though we are in need of CarPlay for bikes to sort this issue. Thanks for the reply

My app has locked on a page describing the details of the app and will not go back into add destinations page, has any one any ideas how to get out of this? I've deleted and re entered the app but goes straight back to the same page?
Hello mate! Thanks for the comment and it sounds like a very odd one! Given the app works on other people’s phones I would guess it’s your phone related. I think I have mentioned this trick before but as you have already installed it, it leaves some app info on your storage which possibly Is not cleared once the actually app is removed. You need to clear any trace of the app before reinstalling it. Google clearing app from memory for your phone . Do that process it tells you then try reinstalling and hopefully will work finger crossed 🤞

Hello Harold. Unfortunately I dont think so until KTM update the app for all bikes before 2022 models.If yours is a 21 model like mine then the App has discontinued to work.... (I know its poor treatment consider it used to work before).
We just have to wait.... No idea when though.

Good info, this is not the new Turn by turn P L U S that KTM has on their new bikes nowadays that is supposed to be even more advance right than the first turn by turn they had ? Hopefully now when I am typing this you have mastered the technique of just blurring out stuff that you do not want in the video like your address while editing huh Ricardo ? ;P
HAHA thanks Mathias. Still not sussed the blurring thing yet :) I will just not put my address in the first place :) much easier then. As for the KTM In Screen function. I have not tried it since this test back in 2021. I am aware there have been app changes since and software updates so I am not entirely sure it works the same as when I tried. I know it worked for me then. But I cannot confirm myself if it works now as never used it sorry
@@RicardoYeep I see , I am trying to learn more about the newer version of the turn by turn called plus. But there is not much info / videos on it on the internet. I wanted to know the difference from the new turn by turn compared to yours in a good video like yours that explains everything and also I wanted to see how the gps works on the bike screen while riding. I was thinking maybe the new system is much more closer to a real gps like you have in cars while you are riding and not just small turn by turn notifications like it is on your system :) I know Ducati has a real gps navigation system in their media software packade for some of their bikes but I do not know about how detailed KTMs new PLUS program is. Oh very well, time will tell, soon I will go out and test ride the new Superduke GT that is supposed to have the new PLUS system for sure. Thanks for answering!
