Denis, I'm so hungry too! The video will soon be over, and you can eat 🍔.
You are really talented and energetic. I originally started watching you for how you hold the pick in the jazz style. I can't seem to get fluid in it though. I can relate to what you say about stuff because of your teaching style. I appreciate that you dispel of old teaching practices of the past, and I agree with your assertions...Rick
Beautiful video, thank you for the cultural historical insight. You are a top tier teacher Denis
Bless the Algorithm gods 🙏. A Denis video on Djangos birthday 🎂 🎉
East Montgomery is underrated 😂
Nobody talks about him.
Denis, have you ever come across Harry Volpe's jazz guitar instruction book? It was supposed to be one of the first, if not the first teaching material available.
East Montgomery is basically Racer X. The whole time we know it’s his brother
love your videos ! I have a question how does one practice starting phrases on the and of 1 . Most phrases I see on sheet music start on the and of the 1 .
Well, I beggin with that rumba. Personally from my feelings, long years living in Spain and taste I always loved more Andalusian styles of gypsy guitar and of course all those rhythms and techniques. Rumba also differs from Granada than Sevilla. But the major difference ( for me ) from Catalan rumba or South France rumba or that Gypsy King rumba. I also heard Cuban rumba and who knows how many rumbas exists somewhere more. For my surprise was, some musicians told me that the original rumba is from Cataluña.
And about Jazz I found my heart really stay with 20-30's as I got so bored from those standard jazz teachings, musicians, book, records and so boring jams. I used to love play for beauty of music and every melody and harmony had sense. Today's everyone wants to be cool and hip and at the end result is same boring shit and not music but noise and I went home with headaches and completely disgusted from such experience. My long love for music and guitar ended.
It's been months, I think you can take the tag off the guitar.
But the toan!
Maybe it’s air freshener “new guitar smell”😅 jk no disrespect, good content here! Especially about the “they had the harmony foundation already in place before all the modal chord scales”… oh and that guitar is very good, resonant, I have the same one since 2021, Cordoba Fusion Ochestra CE.😊
