Fascinating and practical. Artistic intent is such a valuable point. We can often forget to see the forest while we hack away at the undergrowth and trees. I learn almost imperceptibly when Djamming. You can't always put it into words what works, but when it does work, we all notice it.
The intro you played is beautifully played was that improvised or is that a tune ? would really like to learn that piece of music. Thanks for the video great advice Denis
Denis.
when you compare that chord to the way Django played it you strummed them differently and mixed it with your talking commentary. I'm not convinced Django's fingering sounded better but maybe. I think you should do a video playing a short song two ways and so the video so people viewing can't see what you are doing. Then don't reveal which one is which until the next video. So people could comment on which way sounds better.
Okay you can see it that way however I think you're missing the point. Denis is saying that even at an ostensibly very high level there people have all sorts of skill (rhythm and accompaniment in this case) discrepancies. I think it he's just trying to illustrate how important these skills are. He has accompanied the absolute top players out there and it's more than fine for him to point out they appreciate what he does and further illustrates how important what he is saying is. Check out Sébastien Giniaux & Denis Chang at à Montréal Upstairs - Magic!
He does have the credentials to say he has a lot of experience, just do a search and you'll see what he does and has done. If he doesn't count as experienced in this field then who does? Sometimes when you get to a certain level at something you can just say you have a lot of experience in that area because it's true.

@@dingoswamphead thanks mark :)
Metronome set to 40bpm, I'm dying. I thought I was pretty solid before this.
What mode should I learn first?
I noticed you've been playing lots of nylon string instruments recently. Any reason behind this change?
What pick do you use? Pls
What guitar are you playing?

It's too bad you have such a need to talk yourself up. Otherwise, your advice is good.
you're too old to be a hater man
