Those are US Army Paratroopers jumping from a US Air Force transport. Our services work together.
We jump with a main AND reserve, EVERY time. that wasn't "fear" on that paratroopers face when he was waiting to jump; that was the face of a tired soldier who had to do a lot of work already in the day just to get into the airplane. He's ready to jump, get some chow, and then get some beer. :-)
I happen to be a veteran US Army Paratrooper and can say that this video put a smile on my face, and it leaves me saying that video just doesn't do it justice!! :-) I personally hope that more people have the ability to realize freedom and do as this young man has done. As an American serviceman, I'd love to help however I could.

I hope all of them are granted freedom and don't have to risk the lives of their family members (who are often punished severely for another family members escape) or their own lives crossing into China - who _will_ send you back if they catch you - as part of a long hard trip through multiple countries to eventually get over to South Korea.
It sucks for North Koreans that their freedom is even less likely than it was decades ago because as China has gained power North Korea has become more and more of a valuable buffer for them against the western alliance of nations that South Korea represents.

Static line jumps are fairly harmless. I did it for fun when I was in my late thirties, overweight, not fit female. We had a few hours of practice. There are signals you can use if something goes wrong during the jump. An expert jumper can rescue a jumper mid-air. I hope the best for your son in all his military experience. Also, I hope you make it through without excessive worry.

This is US Army jump training. Not airforce. Also what he said is incorrect. Though it is a static line jump, the landing impact is still hard. You need special training to land so that you don't break your legs or injure your back. Ive seen one soldier land so hard there helmet flew off.

That was not Air Force that was jumping, the Air Force was FLYING the C-17s. The troopers jumping were paratroopers of the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division. And that was Sicily Drop Zone they were landing on. I should know since I ate enough of that dirt when I was serving with the 82nd that I still cough up some of that dust today.

i think the fact that it was army paratroopers and not us air force has been hammered in already, but i want to actually see a reaction to us air force pjs or ccts. those guys are studs and really don't get as much attention as they deserve because they are largely overshadowed by green berets and navy seals. afspecwar might not be the doorkickers or getting all of the credit for big ops, e.g the bin laden hit, but they are the silent warriors that contribute significantly. pjs are the ones performing medevacs, casevacs, and rescue operations in austere environments, and ccts deploy with the door kickers, like the green berets, rangers, and seals, and call in airstrikes, literally saving their team's lives considering america's more recent battle strategies.

If he is a defector why isn't he giving up the secrets of the country that he defected from? Really that makes him seem like a spy not a defector

Said he was a spy. Also, do you really think the top brass gives any real "secrets" outside the inner circle? The only real secret, which everyone already knows is they're all bark and no bite without any foreign aid

How do you know he hasn't? They all get interviewed for months by the NIS after they defect. Most of the time they use alias and don't say specific stuff because they don't want to bring harm to their family still in NK

Dunno if ya'll read the comments, but,
Why not show them more of NATO, or the Russian Armed Forces? Surely, it'd lessen the idea that they're being fed only American-based senses of power. The German Fallschirmjäger or Russian FSB would be great insights to look at.

Loads of militaries have paratroopers but most probably don’t let you film as freely. US paratroopers often train with others and if you jump with them ,you are allowed to wear those foreign jump wings on your dress uniform. Seen a bunch in my day, but never got the chance. Our unit was supposed to swap with Russians , but never came to fruition. We did host British Royal Marines and Thailand unit during my years.

I agree. Dimple should show specialized forces from around the world to these defectors. Mechanized, special forces, intelligence and different training programs that challenge US supremacy. Or show incidents where the US made military blunders. Like the bungled withdraw from Afghanistan and get their opinions.

I kinda think the reason they show American stuff to the NK defectors is because to the NK, America was their main enemy. I guess, it's to form a connection/sympathy from both American views and the NK defectors. I agree though, they should totally show them other countries' military forces.

I love videos from different military as well. The U.S. relies on video for training as well as recruiting (and budget justification), so there is simply more material in the public domain.

Only the U.S has the capability to respond and deployed their armed forces around the world within 24 hours and if they wanted to invade a country they could too or if there will be a WW3? I think the U.S can desimate a smal nation or city in the map like what happen in nagasaki and hiroshima and thats why the U.S as much as possible they dont want invloved in war because the primary objective of the U.S.A is to have peace and economic treaty to all countries

problem with the americans is there wars relies on money, once there govt knows the war is draining govt money, they will retreat thats why they lost in vietnam and recently to the taliban, north korea dont need go toe to toe with the americans, all they need is prolong the war with hit and run tactics like the taliban and viet cong did and the americans will lose.
