THIS is UBER DRIVER, DANIEL, and this is PRO RACING DRIVER, SCOTT. Every time Daniel is SLOWER than Scott, he’ll get to upgrade his car. He’ll go from a Mazda MX-5 all the way up to an ARIEL ATOM.
Because Scott and Daniel are BOTH PROFESIONAL drivers, BUT we’ll see if an Uber driver CAN be as fast on track!
So, we pulled Daniel out of his EV, SUV thing - and put him straight in our Mazda - For Scott to set his time to beat!

Unreal experience for my first car track day! Gutted about that audi lap but a blessing in disguise as got to drive those other phenomenal cars. Definitely got the bug now. Thanks guys!

Need to show more of the driving, like inside the cockpit behind the driver. It's soooo cool to see how fast Scott can make correction to the car.
Yeah, seeing him adjust for the oversteer out of the corners in that last lap was really cool
Daniel's commentary on the last lap makes me want to have him as a regular track commentator along with Callum.

I would love to have a map of the track shown in the videos. It would make some parts of the video a bit more understandable.
I second this. A graphic in the lower/upper thirds showing track layout or something to that kin would be helpful for context.

Also have zero mechanical sympathy, at least judging by the state of the vans xD. So won't be afraid to abuse the crap out of the gearbox lol.
Was driving my MX5 mk2.5 1.8 VVT 144hp home late one night on a narrow public road and infront of me was a kind of royal mail post man sized van. The van driver wanted to play and he took off and I tried to keep up in the MX5. Soon though we reached an area with concrete bollards and narrow give way parts and tight turns, one mistake at those speeds and you were done. Well I got scared and backed off but the van driver was rapid and fearless and flew out of sight. What a madlad he showed me how slow I was!
@@_Jonez_ in my experience as a former postie it's actually easier to blow through those tight bollard sections in a van, the straight sides and seating position make them super easy to place on the road. I've chased down a good few MX-5s or similar in the little Peugeot Partners before, they're actually not bad for in-gear pull thanks to the diesel torque which helps.
Except put Scott out of his comfort zone for this challenge, and set up an inner city delivery van style course, including reversing into loading docks....
@@__-fm5qv used to fly through width restrictions in a sprinter van, as you say being higher up lets you get it nice and straight. as soon as the fronts through the back follows exactly as it should

@@420basco Good shout. Maybe with some more track/car time and temperature in the tyres it would go faster. Also a bit less hooning it out of the corners.
The Porsche 718s are a severely underrated platform… they definitely don’t get enough credit.
Well Scott have been all over the place with the Ariel. Look at the exits. It's still quite fast with no systems and those tires.
A car like this needs proper slicks.
The effect of the passenger/ballast is also making a bigger change in% than with the Porsche (more curb weight). But yeah Porsche just delivers.
Fancy trying it with a 48 year old sim racer, who's never had a driving lesson, and never even driven a real car?

Well done that man. I drove an Atom once, proper hard to drive, buy then I didn't have any help or practice, just thrown out on a Track Day....3 or 6 laps round a track, various cars type of thing!

For me, the "every time (scenario), we upgrade the car" series gets a little bit boring. I really liked the races (car vs. bike, car vs. tram in london and so on). A little bit more variation would be nice!
or more variation where you see each individual personal experience with cars put on a test, or just random shenanigans... this is is simply "we rented time on a track, we got race cars and a race car driver, vs X"

I had a mate that tracked a completely stock i30, the brakes wore down to the shims by the end
He is a good act. You should consider bringing him back! Everyone except racerman is pretty normal but nice to see regular folks enjoying the shit out of themselves.

i 100% can relate to callum at 0:32. ahaha some cars are merely appliances. Refrigerators on wheels.
The reason Callum doesn't recognise it is because it's not even a car. It's some sort of hovercraft or anti-gravity machine. It's obvious from the sound and the fact that at 0:33 the "wheels" aren't even going round.

Where's the 53sec Scott lap? On these videos you're always leaving out the best laps(Scott taking cars to their limits.)
I would rather watch another Subaru build, than watch all the same videos with same jokes and same... I don't know, flatness. It's always Scott trying to show off and everyone here else is just to show how amazing he (again) is
Love your videos. I am a driving instructor. I teach in a Fiesta ST so not your sterotypical instructor. What challenges could you come up with for me? Up for anything (probably almost).
