- My 2011 Dodge Challenger R/T wouldn't start after sitting. We knew the battery was dead after using the car battery tester so we needed to replace it. We've had great luck with Interstate Battery in the past so that is what we used for our battery replacement this time. When we do these how to auto repair projects, we like to post videos so others will know how to repair their own car and save money by doing it yourself. It's my midlife crisis car. I had just bought a new car a month prior to seeing this on the lot. I took 1 look and Joe said "NO"! Of course since women listen to their husbands, I drove it home. Car payments were expensive for a while. Our drive looks like a car lot and my old Challenger gets the garage. I'm in love with it and only drive it in great weather which makes it an expensive paperweight. 🙃 Whenever I've considered selling it I can't force myself to do it. I will be the coolest old lady around when I'm still driving it in my 80s. 😇
4yrs not bad 👍 my edge lasted 3yrs like it was on a timer. Just stopped one day 🤦🏻♂️ I use youtube for how to all the time.
The last one was 10 years so I was shocked this was shy of 4. We've never had a battery die so quickly. It was surprising to me. Thank you for watching and commenting.

It's wild where they place these batteries sometimes. In the Charger, you have to remove the driver side front tire and get under the wheelwell....why????😢....lol
I'm a Mustang Man but we rented a Challenger RT one time in Florida because they were out of Mustang GT's and if course I had to test it!!!!😂

It's a fun car. Of course I drive the speed limit. 😏 The rumble of that engine and exhaust was why I had to have it. It was love at first sight. I'm a car person. It's borderline addiction. This car really has way more power than I need. Just trust me when I say that. 😇

Nice challenger Red! Always loved the originals and the new version is nice too. As for duration of a car battery my sons 2016 Mustang GT which is stored winters needed a replacement I think 3 years ago. The over winter charger may have been faulty and he replaced it the following winter with a 2 amp trickle charger. That battery was not very old either. I got over 10 years out of the original battery on the 1997 Aerostar I once had and loved and the 2012 Escape I just replaced the original battery Iast year. Even though we are all led to believe the modern batteries are maintenance free, FALSE! Take the caps off and check the level twice a year. I use distilled water to top it up, look in each hole for a cats eye reflection, if not then slowly top up until you see it. I don’t buy distilled water I use the water from the basement dehumidifier, same thing as distilled. Hope you don’t mind me adding my tip. Cheers🚓
This is great information. I will pass that along to Joe because he will understand more than I do. He puts my hot rod on a trickle charger in the winter but apparently we need a new one. That dang Murphy's law... but having to replace a battery at a dodge dealer sucks. The battery for a Hemi Challenger at Tractor Supply Company is about 60% of dealership price...

We have a car that you have to take the wheel off and part of the fender to change out the battery. Such a pain!
