Tip: Usually in PVP, players would run decoys before PVP, set them down to remove their name plates, and prevent you from noticing them going rogue, and all you have is ISAC pinging them going rogue and them ganging on you before you have a chance to do anything. However, there is a trick. If a player sets down a decoy and goes rogue, their ISAC brick will flash from orange to red (it is hard to spot the first few times) while their decoy is active and that is the only indicator that you will be able to spot when they are going rogue. Also, if you see a group of players (usually 2 to 3 players), be prepared for 1 of them running a SE build usually with riot foam skill to immobilize you while the other 2 just turn you into mince meat. To prevent that, use what Rogue said. Keep an eye out and book it the moment you spot them. Use the decoy as an advantage as it alerts NPCs within a certain range (no idea how big that range is though) and you can use them as meat shields while you book it (Note that this tactic doesn't really work against veterans but hey, a tactic is a tactic). Remember the golden rule in the DZ: Trust no one. Good luck and see you in the DZ.
So here's an advanced tactic that I have always found to be exceptionally helpful. If you are farming in a DZ that has active Rogues or are just paranoid, find an LZ and shoot up a flare. Then IMMEDIATELY RUN TO ANOTHER LZ THAT IS NOT CURRENTLY IN USE and fire another flare. If you're fast, this can potentially buy you enough time to safely hook your gear and get into a defensible position as any nearby Rogues will hopefully be flocking to that first flare you shot up. Another thing you can do, and granted this is risky, but if you see an LZ already active go and check it out as carefully but quickly as possible. If you see someone going in to hook their stuff, rush in and hook yours as well since they won't be able to go Rogue while they're loading theirs. It's also generally accepted as a sign of good faith - if both players load their stuff then quickly back away, chances are they're not gonna risk their loot by turning on you and potentially losing the ensuing firefight, but never just assume that. When it comes down to it, remember the golden rule - don't trust anyone.
One point: if you deconstruct an exotic item within the DZ, you still only get DZ credits/resources. In order to get the exotic component (diamond), you have to extract (via helo) the exotic item and then deconstruct it outside the DZ after you've picked it up from your stash/mailbox.
So being a newish player still coming into the game, it's funny you dropped this guide literally the same night I started to step into the Dark Zone. I was like hmm, I need to learn the mechanics and how loot works, and boom a guide by RogueGold, so thank you for this. Anyways with around a week in and out of the DZ and now just about to hit only 200 SHD and level 3 Expertise I wanted to offer some additional takes to help players feel a little less intimidated by the Dark Zone, (as I originally was and avoided it for a little while.) which might help as I only run solo also. So firstly you have to judge your lobby, if you see that you have a huge group doing pvp going rogue constantly not roaming the map but doing pvp battles with each other, then that's actually a great lobby to be in. 1. They likely won't roam around and harass you, or steal your loot, or come try to kill you during extract either. They are typically too busy fighting one another, and are not going to roam, so that's a good indicator you probably won't get harassed too much. Sure you might have a few one off agents in there not wanting to jump in on the pvp brigade, and still roaming, but it cuts those numbers down a lot that you are far less likely to get jumped or run into a random agent going rogue. Secondly as you stated in the video, knowing the maps is crucial. I've had the most experience with DZ East and South, so with East the big key here is where you extract from. The majority of entry checkpoints are all loaded on the left of that DZ, but the cool thing is you have a far right northern extract away from all the foot traffic. The thing is, most people are going to be lopsided to roam or move around the left and bottom of DZ east, just due to the layout. I usually do a loop and pick up my gear, break it down etc, then I typically go to that far right extract to the north. Then I typically call the heli in at the back right corner facing towards the control point behind me. That way I can go the back of the tuck there and check for people coming towards me a bit more safely. The thing is you're less likely to get people coming out of the control point behind you, or from the top right checkpoint. So your cone of vision can focus on direction towards the extract, and you have options to back away into the control point, or run to the top right and just b-line out of there. For DZ South, the best extract imo is the circular one to the bottom right. This DZ is way more compact and smaller, but also has several twists and turns to get away. I like to use that extract the most and there is a window you can hop into and call the extract just outside this window and you can safely hide in the building and peek out to catch people trying to go rogue and jack your loot. One time I had an unsuspecting rogue try to do that and I was able to down them with perfect line of site. They didn't know what hit them. DZ West I have the least experience with, but the south extract isn't bad, being on a broken overpass of sorts. But it's close to the main entry point. The top left is probably a safe bet, you have a room with windows you can hide in as well, but it's not as comfy as say the one in DZ South. The top right is probably the least desirable as it's on an open street. Just like the one in DZ east being at an intersection, there is just too many directions for people to come from, and they are too open. But as far as extracts go, sometimes the ideal isn't always ideal, obviously make a judgment call and use the one that you feel is the best, safest, least time consuming to protect your loot and get it out, or most sensible when applicable, based off the lobby you're in more or less. But best bet is apply the most safe options always if you can. Thirdly, as much as I have pointed to what has given me the most success in terms of getting extracts to go smoothly, and to mitigate the toxic roaming agents that just wanna go rogue and make you have a bad time, it's going to happen. People are going to roam and steal your loot, go rogue, down you, stay at a checkpoint and harass you, etc. The key is to judge it, if you feel one DZ is too annoying, just swap to another, or go do some pve. Remember you can also teleport to another checkpoint across the same DZ to get away from the duo wanting to pick you off constantly. Fourthly on extract, you're not committed until you attach your gear to the rope, any time before that if you're not comfortable, if you're worried about getting jump, just run away. Always always always check Social in the menu to see if people are nearby. I can't tell you the amount of times people popped up and I just left, 30 seconds into waiting for the heli, I just noped out of there. That rogue group roaming looking to pick off people, just leave. Sure you can try to fight if you feel confident and sometimes you have to fight, but starting out early on, working on a pvp build, or low SHD/expertise you're gonna be at a disadvantage a lot of the time. Also once the countdown for the gear being attached is like 15-10 seconds left, unless someone is standing on top of the rope, if nobody is close by your gear is pretty safe to get out. So the window for your gear being at risk is actually fairly small time wise. Remember The Art of War: "Fight them where they aren't" the best offensive is a good defense, live to fight another day, etc lol. But also remember you can't get better until you pick fights, so sometimes it's just worth it to take a fight to learn something, maybe you learn you need more stats, ok fair enough. Maybe you learn you need to position better, or move better. Or time your skills better. Sometimes I just go in and go rogue a bunch and try to fight people just to see if I can win some fights. If you know you have a roaming bunch trying to chase extracts, try to obfuscate, run across one extract, call the heli, then peace to another extract and while that group is chasing the first heli, they realize no one is there, it can give you enough time to get off your extract. Or as RogueGold pointed out, if another extract got called, use that to obfuscate and take advantage. The last thing I would say is try to run something that mitigates other players trying to jump you. I run St. Elmos and will usually proc it's stacks to 100 then swap to a secondary AR like Carbine 7 and use that to take control points, etc. That way if someone tries to go rogue, or challenge me at an extract I can shock them and prevent them from stealing my gear or killing me. I had like a 1200 SHD agent go rogue at the northern extract on me and he probably saw I was under 200 SHD and thought I was easy prey. No no no sir, you thought wrong. I popped him with St. Elmos and downed him. You can just run Countdown and focus AR's and get a St. Elmo's pretty quickly and easily. I have like 3 or 4 just from doing that when I was farming ARs and trying to also get a good Carbine 7 roll. So it's a very accessible exotic and a good option starting out. I've won some 1v1 situations vs people way higher on SHD and expertise because of having it proc'd and ready to go. Listen guys, some people got exotics like the Eagle Bearer to pray drops in the DZ, and I'm one of them. Gotten plenty of The Pestilence so far, like 2 or 3 out of the DZ. Oh and for the few exotics I've actually had drop so far on the DZ, I've gotten every single one out with no issues using RogueGold's advice, my own learning and understanding as stated above. So you can certainly find success in the DZ, good luck out there fellow agents. Thank you sir RogueGold, all the best!
🙏 Thank you so much for taking the time to write out your thoughts and experiences, truly appreciate that! And I'm super glad the guide was able to help you achieve success!
Another tip for extraction: always check nearby players and based on that choose the extraction point that is further away from them, is going to give you time for your extraction to arrive before other players. Anyway great video and useful even for D.Z veterans
Anothet extraction tip. If you are solo and afraid of getting killed by rogue agents, when you get to an extraction point and check tge map and nearby agent BUT also place a map marker on another extraction point then call for an extraction and immediately run towards that other extraction point you marked and when you get there call for an exteaction too. At that point you can either hover around there or run back to the previous extraction point before the helicopter leaves. There might be rogue agents there or they may be rushing to the 2nd point but at least your force them to make a decision. If you are really fast in DZ south and east its possible to activate all three extraction points at the same time.
Thanks for this guide Rogue, the DZ is fun and rewarding and I hope to get an EB drop someday. One tip I use is the fact that the DZ XP from extractions scales with the number of items, so an alternative to deconstructing everything is filling up your bag with random items, maybe have 1 slot for a stack of DZ resource, and extract. You'll get a ton of DZ caches that way (which can contain DZ exclusive named items btw) and can also get regular resources from those extracted items.
Love your tip about checking social menu in the DZ, I almost never go in the DZ these days, but spent a lot of time there previously and, still to this day when I venture in, it's such an ingrained habit. It really gives you such an advantage and keeps a lot of ppl getting a jump on you, particularly during extraction
Here is my Dark Zone guide (im shd level 850) 1.finish WONY 2.enter DZ while jumping at every sound and shadow 3.clear a checkpoint(feeling good because maybe the rumors about the dz aren't true because nobody attacked you) 4. run into another player(you are cautious but feel at ease when don't attack you) 5.random player stands still(unbeknownst to you he is inspecting your gear) 6.player goes rogue right in front of you killing you immediately then emote on your corpse 7.respawn and get killed immediately 8. Try to get revenge just to get killed over and over for the 45 minutes because you have tilted 9.delete game 10.reinstall game 11. Enter DZ again and get farmed by players for 3 hours 12. Try again tomorrow 13. Get a lucky exotic drop that you never got before 14. Try to extract exotic and a player goes rogue and chases you back and forth across the map. 15. Make it to safe zone but door won't open because you are in combat 16. Get killed and exotic taken 17.guy who killed you sends you a message and video of him turning exotic into dz credits. 18.stop playing game for 1 month 19. Return to game and decide to get better gear 20.grind countdown, learn to put together builds, run raids, get exotics, kill hunters for shield splinterer, run legendary and heroic missions, get good gear 21.return to DZ still get killed almost immediately over and over but you last longer and now cause rogue agents to have to heal 22.die alot more but continue to improve 23. Now you are a DZ veteran and know how to avoid or engage rogue agents 24.now you are hunting rogue agents and putting them down 25. DZ is home, DZ is life, They are trapped there with you!
Thank you very much for this excellent guide. Still not sure how much of my free time I can burn off in the DZ, but this makes it feel less of a blind risk. But I will admit that the feeling of dropping a rogue at an extraction is hard to beat.
As always helpful and informative. I'm a returning player and I want to get back into the DZ's but I've been hesitant, so with this advice I'm a little more confident in traversing these areas, especially the idea of just picking a DZ and becoming familiar with the lay of the land. Thanks for sharing and keep on doing that thing you do.
Thanks so much for this. I actually put together a build based on your slayer, and went into the DZ. When people went rogue and tried to steal my loot I actually killed them easily. Finally a build I can roll with and not feel like I'm made of glass in PVP.
I was able to snag The Gift blueprint from Descent after a 5 hour session. Went to the DZ two days later and farmed one in about 20 minutes lol. DZ is fun if you go into it with the right mindset and expect some PVP. If only I could get the 13% PFE to drop I'd be all set. Great video dude
@RogueGold Farmed legendary summit with 7 directives and came up empty. Only one I managed was heroic control point with 3 directives. These mods are unicorns man lol
Coming from Australia with our Absolute Rubbish internet, I've always steered clear of DZ's in both Division 2, and Division 1. During the days of D1 Every now and again I'd 'Try my luck' and knowing latency issues would probably be my down fall, but have basically ignored all 3 DZ's in D2 and I've played since launch. Today though I stumbled across this video, and in doing so, Your channel, and am just here to say Thank You for putting this content in a straight up, 'No B.S.' on what to expect sort of video, and on top of that I've just spent the last 3½-4 hours roaming the DZ's and enjoying it (even with the few laggy moments). think you may have a new fan here, Good Job ;)
I recall the darkzone being pretty sweaty a few seasons ago but when they dropped the raid items in i knew for a fact trying to extract a raid item in the dz is like ringing the dinner bell and the wolves were hungry. All in the past now and almost to expertise level 24 as we speak.
Added to Watch Later, because I'm really trying to get over my fear of the DZ. I'm SHD 1300, play entirely solo, and have almost wholly avoided the DZ like the plague (my DZ level is 3. Just 3.). Tried going in a couple times and just got wiped by Rogues almost immediately. Tried again and again. Died again and again. So I just decided it wasn't for me. Which is a shame. I'd love to just roam around and explore an entire section of the map that's mostly new to me. I just don't want to get hassled by other players against whom I have ZERO chance of survival. However, yesterday I actually had an altogether enjoyable DZ experience. Decided to just head in, roam around, try to avoid conflict, and see what happens. I cleared two DZ Landmarks, took out a bunch of NPCs, successfully extracted some loot, and got out alive. All without ever seeing another player. It was absolutely enjoyable. Because the PvP aspect never happened. And I know the whole point of the DZ is PvP, and if you don't like PvP just stay out of the DZ, yada yada... I get it. But there's zero reason, as a solo player, I can't just choose to enjoy the DZ as PvE like the rest of the game.
I was in the same boat as you and started going in lately. I’ve just been not caring if I get killed or not, and that honestly has made it fun, haha. I have gotten slaughtered by full four man teams a few times, but I’ve also run around with some other solo and 2 man groups and had good fun!
Thing is... Those coins are useless if you want exotic cashes, vendors rarely sell anything useful anyway... So people farm low level players (my exp) just cause they can.. and they do it in such a bitch ass way its not even funny. Had a dude that was like almost 400k SHD levels (probably a cheater of some sort) act friendly at first and burst me down with the incursion SMG as soon as I turned around. Dude.. come on, go rouge and have fun, give me a chance to fire off 1 shot at least. 😂
Never went into the Dark Zone before and as per your most number one tip, Im probs just going to jump in without the goal for loot but for exploration! Loot is secondary if I manage to find and extract any.
One thing I think is overlooked in the game is suppressors because the ai doesn’t care about them and know exactly where you are as soon as you engage but for DZ content reducing your noise profile is vital for avoiding PvP the ai might not have ears but other players do and if they have no idea where your shooting from that alone can increase your survivability.
I have almost every named on your list and I barely played dz. Never got any of it in the dz.. all came from named caches. Got a Dark Winter from a named cache I bought for 8 stsrs from golden bullet global event
I 100% agree with know the map. I can not count how many times I've tricked/out ran/and even wiped 4 man groups by myself simply because I turned a corner in front of them, sneaked right to the other side so when they all turned left the way they seen me, they'd never knew not only am I to the right but I claimed up to have the high ground and am now blasting them in the back while they panic. 1v4s can be very easy if you simply know where you are and especially if it's a 4 man that's winning off of numbers and know nothing else but jumping
I agree. Personally I love it because you either get good enough to compete and keep your loot or stay out. Once you’ve established yourself as a capable player rogues will kinda stand off unless they outnumber you
I recall that the devs changed the loot system where targeted loot goes straight to inventory and/or can’t be lost if ganked..? Is that a thing or am I misremembering? Thanks for another great video!!! This is a great companion vid to your PVP guide (psa: linked in the description)! Slayer build actually works! I’ve built it and gone into the DZ with it! Build it and go! If you’re new, you might die but not from NPCs…. The build is powerful and has survivability when farming control points (aka landmarks)
Glad the build worked out for you!! There was a bug awhile back that turned some Targeted drops into regular loot drops, and the Devs said it wasn't a high priority fix so it stayed in for a few months. But they did eventually revert it, and now it functions as described in the video 👍
I do like going into the dark zone and being able to go after land marks and usually have my best luck at getting exotics in there but people always bully me. I never like to start fights I only shoot if they choose to shoot at me first and even if I try helping they always kill me 😢
Hey Roguegold, another great video! I've just finished the DLC content and am kinda lost in the sauce with all of the end game content. do you have a video or suggestions of another creators video that breaks down endgame content? thanks for your help! your videos have done a lot.
Hey! Welcome to the endgame! If you haven't watched it then I definitely reccomend this one, it covers all endgame progression systems, content, recommendations, etc. Use the timestamps to skip around to whatever might be most useful! 👉 ua-cam.com/video/1BfRduqxX9g/v-deo.htmlsi=RzMEJH-V1DCXDsZ5
Really great guide, am surprised you didn't mention the option of being 100% pulse resistance in the DZ to be more stealth (how come you never got pulsed while playing? Different build?) I like and hate the DZ. It's a unique experience but I am not good at PVP and it seems no matter what build I use I rarely win 1v1 encounters. Hence the pulse resistance is a life saver. I try to stealth as much as I can. I like seeing red landmarks, sneak in and shoot one bullet at an enemy than hide close enough to get credit for it when the other player(s) finish it Great tips especially at end of video, thanks again (and how did you kill that rogue so fast? I can never do that 😫)
Something I’ve always wondered: if you pick up DZ-exclusive loot but don’t extract it, does it get added to your general pool/unlock blueprints? Not sure if I’m phrasing this right, but hopefully you get what I mean.
I do know what you mean! DZ Exclusives don't modify their drop locations for any circumstances. Even if you loot and extract/equip one, further drops will remain "exclusive" to the DZ (and the other drop sources mentioned).
Inconclusive for right now. I did not get to thoroughly test it in the PTS, so I can't speak with any firsthand info. I saw many saying it's going to upend the game's balance and builds, and I then immediately saw a video of someone trying out a 1.3 million Health build, and they got shredded in 5-6 bullets. I'm unaware and am not knowledgeable enough on how it might be utilized in PVE with Hunter's Fury and the default Health gate, but for PVP specifically I'm dubious for now that it will materialize into much at all.
there a chance to make a newbie guide? or is it just like run and try not to die around because i'm new to division 2 and today's the first time i entered the DZ ever lmao
This guide is primarily aimed at the newbie crowd 😄 Happy to answer any additional questions you may have though. Keep in mind that the Dark Zone is intended to be a pretty hardcore experience, and is definitely not on the list of very "new player friendly" activities in the game.
yeahhhh i noticed that when i checked my inventory and saw that my weapons do 50k damage each LOL and when i got jumped by a player with a longer line of shields than a pillar holding up the whitehouse
My advice…fight lose fight lose fight lose…eventually win one. I’m still waiting for that one but still fighting. Somebody’s gotta die and it’s actually fun either way. Mute and fight on. It’s not personal unless you let it be
As a solo player people will always recommend u to have 1000 lvl watch if not then get a team to go it also depend on your gears otherwise 1000lvl is nothing because u can get hunted by 4 low shd lvl rogues easily
@jordyfernandez860 At Level 1,000 you guarantee that you'll have all the same bonuses as other players, minus the very minor Health bonuses that the system grants after 1k. At very minimum I think SHD 500 is doable, maxing out your Weapon Damage and Armor nodes is pretty essential.
hey rogue, how come keys don't drop from DH on discovery anymore? and the box at the end isn't available anymore? is the Eagle only obtainable from boss drops?
Discovery mode has never been eligible to drop the exclusive Exotics (Eagle Bearer, Ravenous, Regulus). To my knowledge the loot chest has never been apart of that difficulty for that exact reason. The only ways to get those items are from the Normal difficulty Raid, or the Dark Zone (minus the Regulus).
@@RogueGold oh, I used to play Xbox and someone dropped it for me. Idk why they would change normal to no matchmaking 🤦♂️. Now I gotta find 7 ppl to get it 😭
Great guide! I played a lot in darkzone of D1 because it was basically the open world in endgame. In D2 I play in the darkzones occasionally only, not a fan of PvP. But I don’t want to avoid the darkzones because the 3 darkzones combined are a huge part of the DC map, which is already a small map compared to other games. The darkzone maps provide a bit variety. But when I get bullied every few minutes it’s time for me to leave the DZ. For D3 I hope that darkzone areas: - are part of the main PvE map and PvE main game - completely integrated in the campaign - PvPvE as optional mode Let people decide what they want to play. Current system and more incentives to lure PvE players into PvP confrontation results into frustration as we could read million times already and in the comments here as well.
I've been actually playing the DZ for almost 3 days now and their hasn't been a single player so the lobby is basically empty but idk how to go to a full one then always going to an empty one every time i open the game
@RogueGold yes I'm level 40 and my SHD level is 600 I think but I've went into the DZ before not solo their was other players but now playing solo their is no players
@Amberkaylee19 The Devs added SHD Level brakcets to the DZ with a recent update, to try and add some balance between players with different SHD Levels. So the most populated bracket will be the SHD 1,000+ one, since the majority of players have been around for a long time and reached that level. More details here 👉 ua-cam.com/video/79I16YiH3jg/v-deo.htmlsi=Ij0MTvkqRMMitk2b
Do you think we will ever get cross progression for division 2 ? Just made the switch from Xbox to pc and just realize there’s no cross progression in this game. Unfortunate bc I have so much time on my Xbox account.
They've said it's highly unlikely to come to Div 2, unfortunately. It's a big undertaking, and they said pursuing it would delay current/future content plans, and come with a degree of risk when migrating save files. I think they just can't quite justify the worth for Division 2, but it is confirmed to be in Heartland at launch, and I can guarantee Division 3 will have it as well.
Just coming back to div2, can anyone explain how normalization works in dz and conflict? Wondering if stat rolls matter or if stuff like that is all the same so it wouldn’t matter if stuff like Chc/chd isn’t maxed on the gear or if your stats are low you are gonna get cooked
In the current live game, Dark Zones and Conflict feature no normalization whatsoever. Whatever bonuses your gear, or progression systems have (including Expertise levels) apply to PVP. There is a big change coming next Season (February 6th) in which Conflict will now disable all SHD Level and Expertise bonuses when you're playing it, so that the playing field is evened to just individual build power. However they said the Dark Zone will remain as-is with all power enabled.
@@RogueGoldthanks man! That’s what I kinda figured but couldn’t find a definitive answer. I appreciate it. Farming gear now and looking forward to shd being disabled
Developers should implement a PvP on/off option for the Dark Zone. This allows players who never go to the Dark Zone to discover these zones and the associated mechanics such as equipment extraction. Instantly and very easily, this would add new areas to discover as well as a new game mode for the vast majority of players. Players could rub shoulders and work together to clear the area. The loot table could be adjusted as needed.
I have the turtle wax and Autoglyn. I feel like the latter looked better at the first application. In fact, after a few days, the TW almost looked like the tyre was not dressed so I reapplied with Autoglyn. I have a full bottle, so I'm stuck with it, so I'll use it all before I try DarkPro.
So what in the DZ doesn't require extraction. I know materials, dz credits found in boxes, components and the gear you get from the safe house. But doesn't everything else require extraction?
@@Kjklumpno it’ll have red lines and a biohazard symbol on it, if you go to the pause menu, gear, contaminated that will show what items need to bed extracted
After SHD 1k, it's not that big of a factor. I'm currently 4.7k SHD, but along the way I've dropped players with way higher SHD than me. After the numerous SHD/xp exploits of the past (and Real Money Power Levelling services) SHD no longer is an indicator of player skill or experience. I've seen plenty of 5k, 10k, and well beyond play like complete newbies and not understand game mechanics.
now that they announce the instant heal i want to play dv2 pvp once again after 1 year i stop and sell my 3 accounts when i sell of my SHD 100k main account SHD 88k 2nd account and SHD 5k 3rd account i never played dv2 again and focus to other PVP online games in my PC, i buy new account now i will try my new SHD 1k healer DPS 1.5m armor 6 tier build on new update, yesterday i tried my tanky healer DPS againts group i solo 4 of them and killed 4 of them without dying but i'm still not contented about the healing of my newest build, i think the missing piece to my newest build is the upcoming feb patch the instant pop up healing.
Firts rule of the dz is dont go solo the exclusive items bp drops from the decent and named item cashe also just go chill in a few conflict matches wether you win or lose you get 1 cashe for participating as far as the eb and ravenous do the raid there's Cary all the time BUT if your looking for field recon data and alot of xp its faster than farming cp open world just farm landmarks and never extract i prefer dz south the landmarks are really close and fast to farm
in I've never really been a big fan of the Dark Zones. Even in the first Division game. In The Division 2, going into the Dark Zones wasn't necessary until the Eagle Bearer was added. To me, the people who go rouge do so to be bullies! We need another way to acquire things like the Eagle Bearer outside the raid and Dark Zone!
missing a 0 on that drop chance for exclusives. Its a 0.072% for npc-random-drop exotic, and only 3% of those exotics are exclusive. On average the rates are 1 in 46300 npc kills.
The DZ is so much fun once you accept the fact that you are going to be killed by grouped-up rogues when you’re solo. For people who get really mad about it, try ignoring the fact that some of the enemies you face are human. Just tell yourself that they’re really good AI enemies, and keep on playing.
Good tip! I will keep playing even after long time of grinding i get 🦅 bearer and get killed by four rogues max expertise ouroboros players😊😊😊😊😊.............. can't be more happier😊
@roguegold, the dark zone shouldn’t be a PvP area the only PvP area should be conflict , the dark zone should be a pve area but make the enemies stronger and harder to kill
My main problem with the dark zone is its just one big tdm, someone going rouge should be a big deal, it should be exciting not every SHD agent should turn into a psychopath as soon as they step out of the SHDnet coverage. Something to counteract this could be inventives to be a good little agent and not go off mission and blap your fellow agents for no reason in the zone.
for me, the loot potential just isnt worth the time. almost 9/10 times its a 3 or 4 stack of rogues that just run the map, and as a solo, its just ruins the fun knowing i dont stand a chance or just have to run the whole time. if there was a system to just pair you up with other solos then id be down to go in more
Honestly not that rare at all getting blueprints in decent. A buddy played decent for two weeks, and got all of the blueprints decent has to offer. I've started on mine too. Take the nemesis out, then start the next loop, but quit after you start it. Get one almost every time doing that.
Best thing to do is run the raid for a higher chance for the eb to drop. There are discord and Xbox looking for group communities always offering the opportunity.
One of the many problems with the DZ is that there are very high level sweaty players that prey on low level players.. I waited till I hit SHD 150, got a good build did a few Legendary runs solo and finally felt really confident only to enter and get shredded in about 5 seconds by 4 camping players at the entrance.. Went to DZ West.. got stalked and shredded when I called for extraction because the person that was following me decided to turn rogue.. never touched the DZ soil ever again.
I run the Dark Zone a lot , the risk doesn’t equal the rewards. The gear is subpar . And the exotic drops are so far and in between. I did get an Eagle Bearer in May last year. Since then nothing to Bragg about. The rouges love to gang up on single players and kill them, even without carrying loot bag.
The real trick is knowing that there's nothing in the DZs that you need for meta PvE builds. A few items that are neat to have Emperors Guard knees, Yahl gear, Claws Out holster but nothing game changing.

Great breakdown, appreciate it!
I say build up max Tac-50 ammo with a max headshot crit build and YOLO lol (from 2 blocks away)
One point: if you deconstruct an exotic item within the DZ, you still only get DZ credits/resources. In order to get the exotic component (diamond), you have to extract (via helo) the exotic item and then deconstruct it outside the DZ after you've picked it up from your stash/mailbox.
Great shout!
Wow.to the dude that write this
Another tip for extraction: always check nearby players and based on that choose the extraction point that is further away from them, is going to give you time for your extraction to arrive before other players.
Anyway great video and useful even for D.Z veterans
Thank you my friend! 👊
Great tip! And thank you!
Here is my Dark Zone guide (im shd level 850)
1.finish WONY
2.enter DZ while jumping at every sound and shadow
3.clear a checkpoint(feeling good because maybe the rumors about the dz aren't true because nobody attacked you)
4. run into another player(you are cautious but feel at ease when don't attack you)
5.random player stands still(unbeknownst to you he is inspecting your gear)
6.player goes rogue right in front of you killing you immediately then emote on your corpse
7.respawn and get killed immediately
8. Try to get revenge just to get killed over and over for the 45 minutes because you have tilted
9.delete game
10.reinstall game
11. Enter DZ again and get farmed by players for 3 hours
12. Try again tomorrow
13. Get a lucky exotic drop that you never got before
14. Try to extract exotic and a player goes rogue and chases you back and forth across the map.
15. Make it to safe zone but door won't open because you are in combat
16. Get killed and exotic taken
17.guy who killed you sends you a message and video of him turning exotic into dz credits.
18.stop playing game for 1 month
19. Return to game and decide to get better gear
20.grind countdown, learn to put together builds, run raids, get exotics, kill hunters for shield splinterer, run legendary and heroic missions, get good gear
21.return to DZ still get killed almost immediately over and over but you last longer and now cause rogue agents to have to heal
22.die alot more but continue to improve
23. Now you are a DZ veteran and know how to avoid or engage rogue agents
24.now you are hunting rogue agents and putting them down
25. DZ is home, DZ is life, They are trapped there with you!
Lol so true. Especially point 9 and 10
Funny
I'm not a DZ player, but I'm a veteran Div1/Div2 player. And one piece of advice I can share is...TRUST NO ONE
oh perfect. was planning to return for a while just to see how Instant Medkits changes things
Thank you very much for this excellent guide. Still not sure how much of my free time I can burn off in the DZ, but this makes it feel less of a blind risk.
But I will admit that the feeling of dropping a rogue at an extraction is hard to beat.
👊 Glad it was helpful!
One thing I do is activate one extraction point then run to a different extraction point.
Problem is that the distance between extractions is so small. It worked great in Div 1.
@@aDrummerThatisBored true, but it still works for me in Div 2
@aDrummerThatisBored that depends on the particular DZ. DZ South, yeah, they are too close. DZ East though, this tactic works.
@@HarlinQuinnX right and DZ West. Then you have to know which one to activate and which one to run to.
👊 Right on! Glad it was helpful!
The way you made the player sit down while giving a guide made me laugh pretty hard not gonna lie😂
Thanks so much for this. I actually put together a build based on your slayer, and went into the DZ. When people went rogue and tried to steal my loot I actually killed them easily. Finally a build I can roll with and not feel like I'm made of glass in PVP.
👊 Love hearing that so much, glad it helped!!
Thanks for sharing the returning player, who used to thrive in DZ in D1 and the beginning of D2. But I feel like a child now. Lol.
This was helpful. My second experience in the DZ was yesterday and it was terrible, but I'll keep at it. Thanks.
👊 Good luck!
This guide inspired me to try DZ out. Big thanks to you Rogue!
🙌 Couldn't ask for anything more! Best of luck!
Thank you!! And I'm still hunting for a 13% myself 😄
👊 I appreciate that greatly, and I'm super glad the video helped out! I hope the DZ continues treating you well 😄
I recall the darkzone being pretty sweaty a few seasons ago but when they dropped the raid items in i knew for a fact trying to extract a raid item in the dz is like ringing the dinner bell and the wolves were hungry. All in the past now and almost to expertise level 24 as we speak.
Best of luck if you end up heading back in there! 👊
That timepiece backpack trophy looks so cool. I hate it’s locked behind the referral program. hopefully one day they’ll add it to the store.
When it comes to dark zone just bring friends because it is most common that people will gang up on someone and even set up 8 people to work together.
@marcusdiddle Glad you were able to experience it a bit!
21:05 usually you will get the rogue notification within 90 to 120 m
Sweet, thank you for the clarity!
i wish for one thing in DZ, shortening extraction time because how small, close to CP and easy to jumped by players this area is.
Add solo queues too.
👍👍
Nice DZ video content. You're the best, my dude! 😎✨✨
👊 Appreciate you man!
Thanks! It's an essential, practical guide, but very useful!
🙏 Glad to hear it, thank you!
Movement and understanding the mechanics will make you better in the darkzone player
i hate the dark zone because there are too many mean people in there.
Yeah, I do wish rogue players were maybe 5-20% of the player base. Not 50-75% but this population won't correct until pve players want to stay there.
Division 1 was an experience…
I agree. Personally I love it because you either get good enough to compete and keep your loot or stay out. Once you’ve established yourself as a capable player rogues will kinda stand off unless they outnumber you
You can turn off everyone that is not in your group (all dz's) so you don't have to listen to the toxicity.
I just don’t understand how I get 1-shot when I have 1.5mil armour, plus regen etc
I never like to start fights I only shoot if they choose to shoot at me first and even if I try helping they always kill me 😢
Pistol builds are also great for farming since you won’t have to worry about restocking ammo
Very useful clip!
I'm gonna return to DZ when Project Resolve arrives, and this tips are (Rogue) Gold :p
Different build?)
I like and hate the DZ. It's a unique experience but I am not good at PVP and it seems no matter what build I use I rarely win 1v1 encounters.
Hence the pulse resistance is a life saver. I try to stealth as much as I can. I like seeing red landmarks, sneak in and shoot one bullet at an enemy than hide close enough to get credit for it when the other player(s) finish it
Great tips especially at end of video, thanks again (and how did you kill that rogue so fast? I can never do that 😫)
That's a good addition for sure! And I was lucky to have on my full damage Pulse build, so he didn't stand much of a chance in that hallway 😄
This comments section is gold, reminds me of the early reddit days.
I just want to run/walk around and see the place tbh. I just love the DC map.
Watching from Flint
Do you need to have done Dark Hours for the Eagle Bearer to potentially start dropping in DZ or is it just Flat low chance in DZ?
Nope! Flat chance regardless of any other factors.
My strategy in the DZ is to run and hide and when they inevitably find me, beg them to have mercy on a fool. =)
Any advice for hardcore players in DarkZone😢
And the dark zone vendor exotic caches should have a chance to drop the DZ exotics.
DZ the best❤
What are your thoughts on what metas are gonna form around the new health brand changes?
Inconclusive for right now. I did not get to thoroughly test it in the PTS, so I can't speak with any firsthand info. I saw many saying it's going to upend the game's balance and builds, and I then immediately saw a video of someone trying out a 1.3 million Health build, and they got shredded in 5-6 bullets. I'm unaware and am not knowledgeable enough on how it might be utilized in PVE with Hunter's Fury and the default Health gate, but for PVP specifically I'm dubious for now that it will materialize into much at all.
there a chance to make a newbie guide? or is it just like
run and try not to die around because i'm new to division 2 and today's the first time i entered the DZ ever lmao
This guide is primarily aimed at the newbie crowd 😄 Happy to answer any additional questions you may have though.
Keep in mind that the Dark Zone is intended to be a pretty hardcore experience, and is definitely not on the list of very "new player friendly" activities in the game.
yeahhhh i noticed that when i checked my inventory and saw that my weapons do 50k damage each LOL
and when i got jumped by a player with a longer line of shields than a pillar holding up the whitehouse
hey how are you my friend quick Question look at your gears and that little flash what's that means
That means it's a "Named Item," they're rarer pieces with perfected versions of talents, or other unique attributes 👍
The best build in my opinion in armor regeneration for me lol
Those are certainly reliable, no doubt!
What’s your settings to have your damage output on the right side ?
Settings > UI > Scrolling Combat Text > Floating 👍
Killer thumbnail btw.🤙
THANK YOU, that's appreciated more than you know. I was super happy with how it turned out 😄
My advice…fight lose fight lose fight lose…eventually win one. I’m still waiting for that one but still fighting. Somebody’s gotta die and it’s actually fun either way. Mute and fight on. It’s not personal unless you let it be
Is there a recommended SHD level to go into the DZ?
As a solo player people will always recommend u to have 1000 lvl watch if not then get a team to go it also depend on your gears otherwise 1000lvl is nothing because u can get hunted by 4 low shd lvl rogues easily
@jordyfernandez860 At Level 1,000 you guarantee that you'll have all the same bonuses as other players, minus the very minor Health bonuses that the system grants after 1k. At very minimum I think SHD 500 is doable, maxing out your Weapon Damage and Armor nodes is pretty essential.
Why does the darkzone have different gear value’s then the pve area? I got like 6-7x more armour and dmg
What’s that chest piece appearance you’ve got on at 10:40?
It's actually apart of the cosmetic shirt I have on, it overrides your chestpiece appearance. It's the "Black Tactical Shirt," I believe
hey rogue, how come keys don't drop from DH on discovery anymore? and the box at the end isn't available anymore? is the Eagle only obtainable from boss drops?
For D3 I hope that darkzone areas:
- are part of the main PvE map and PvE main game
- completely integrated in the campaign
- PvPvE as optional mode
Let people decide what they want to play. Current system and more incentives to lure PvE players into PvP confrontation results into frustration as we could read million times already and in the comments here as well.
What’s the build in the video?
Well thank u brotha
🫡
I love dark zone lol
Do you do 1v1 for fun sir
I've been actually playing the DZ for almost 3 days now and their hasn't been a single player so the lobby is basically empty but idk how to go to a full one then always going to an empty one every time i open the game
Are you at Level 40? If so what's your SHD Level?
@RogueGold yes I'm level 40 and my SHD level is 600 I think but I've went into the DZ before not solo their was other players but now playing solo their is no players
@Amberkaylee19 The Devs added SHD Level brakcets to the DZ with a recent update, to try and add some balance between players with different SHD Levels. So the most populated bracket will be the SHD 1,000+ one, since the majority of players have been around for a long time and reached that level. @RogueGold oh okay thank you because I was very confused why this is happening
Thanks 4 this
👍👍
I love pvp I have the strongest armor regeneration on xbox 😊 I bully alot of meta players lol
If it goes in your bag yellow bag, it needs extraction and those items have a red like corruption around the items normal appearance.
@@ChangedCauseYT-HateFoxNames so all gear items besides safe house gifts right?
@@Kjklumpno it’ll have red lines and a biohazard symbol on it, if you go to the pause menu, gear, contaminated that will show what items need to bed extracted
@@KjklumpNo, some random drops are not corrupted. Just keep a eye out for that red corruption around it.
@@ChangedCauseYT-HateFoxNames ok thanks for the info.
Ooooooo Rogue Gold sending us more players to rob..*cough* i mean help extract for my *cough* their stash. Yes yes, come to the DZ. 😈
😂😂
The only build I used is armor regeneration lol 😆
Had a guy go rogue in front of me and melt me before I could even ads. 😅 guides are great, but when someone has 4000 plus levels on you it's...
They had listed 0.024% on the Patch Notes when the change was first proposed, but I won't contest your math as that is not my strong suit 😄
Wait ive been playing this game for almost 5 years and youre telling me weve had a pvp zone this whole time?
The dark zone and conflict are both pvp. You'll find the conflict station by the stairs to the helopad.
😆
@@j.a.eaglestarsmart1005 you're the real mvp for looking out, but I have to admit I'm just being a dumbass haha

I thought after 5 years you'd know, but just in case. Lol.

A 1-in-5000 chance to get the drop just doesn't seem worth it.
what build allow you to shoot through wall ?
There's no build like that just hacks
or desync @@abxknight1386
Get good and go back in to DZ with vengeance.
I want the eagle bearer but I can’t stand the dark zone.
Best thing to do is run the raid for a higher chance for the eb to drop. There are discord and Xbox looking for group communities always offering the opportunity.
DZ on PC still like wild west, more civilize on Playstation, not always but most of the time.
This guy sounds like Harvey specter
I'll take the compliment 😄
I'm really really totally unexcited😂
Yall can have fun in the PvP zone. (Yes, it's a PvP zone and not a farming area.)
i am nevcer stepping into the dark zone again
The real trick is knowing that there's nothing in the DZs that you need for meta PvE builds. A few items that are neat to have Emperors Guard knees, Yahl gear, Claws Out holster but nothing game changing.
