Kaya’s and Gabi’s VA went overtime. The intensity in both of their tone is profound
I watched AoT in other languages and it's really difficult to maintain that level of voice
They were amazing! Idk how American English VA will be able to reproduce that feeling of dread and intensity
Gaby and Falco escaping makes for an interesting subplot taking place on Paradis Island. That being said, it makes for a hard watch, seeing just how unhinged she acts this episode.
Trying to kill the girl Sasha saved, twice, wanting to take a horse and run, the outburst at the dinner table, her propaganda memorized speech about the "sins of the devils" when trying to justify why eldians have to suffer - you can see how slowly but surely she is spiraling out of control. At no point do we see any glimmer of intelligence, any doubt in her eyes about what she's saying. She just recites marleyan propaganda over and over again while Falco calls things as they are.
The saddest scene in this episode and one of the best in this season - Hange turning her back and closing the gate in the face of the "free press", denying people the truth. Things finally came full circle for her, ending up in the same position as the Interior Police from season 3, the guys she swore to get rid off after they killed pastor Nick. It just goes to show how this show only deals in shades of grey, black and white not really being an option for any sensible viewer.
Even that little girl that Mikasa saved, from season 1, turned into a radical - just goes to show no good deed goes unpunished.

Yes, it's difficult not to be very irritated by Gabi in this episode. It shows the full extent of the brainwashing in Liberio -- but also how the effect of that has varied in different Eldians (Gabi vs Falco) and how that is probably shaped by different circumstances. Reiner had already become the Armored Titan by the time Gabi was born, so their family was safe; she was taught to take this as a point of pride. Falco's family, however, is haunted by the fact that his ancestors (Grice) were part of Grisha's uprising, so they tried to become Warrior candidates more out of desperation than zeal. They only recently became "safe" when Colt was chosen to become the next Beast Titan. Of course it's also true that Gabi and Falco are simply different people.

Correct me if I’m wrong but Gabi and her parents aren’t safe, is just Reiner’s immediate familiy and that just includes his mother. That’s why Gabi was screaming at Falco about him being already safe because of Colt, that’s not the case for her, she needs the armored titan to protect her parents and herself.
@@jesusrivas9414 Ah, you may be right. I always chalked that up to Gabi thinking that she just WANTS it more than Falco 😆 But I do still think that Gabi should be relatively safe, and safer than Falco's family before Colt was chosen.

fun fact, that horse is (believed to be) Charlotte, Ness's horse (S1, the man with a handkerchief who was protecting Armin once they joined the scouts), its believed to be her cz of her wierd trait of baiting humans hair (just like she tried with Gabi)
This one is a fun theory, and I've heard it before, but it is also very very common horse behavior. They pretty much all do this, not to be a killjoy.

@@lucasvicente3637 i don't want to spoil it but Charlotte got killed with her owner by Annie in season 1. They are in heaven with our comrades.
@@ErwinAtaturk Annie didnt killed Charlotte, she might've died after, be on the wilds or follow the other horses (a thing horses tend to be, as comunity animals) but 100% sure Annie didnt, since she only killed a single horse and wasnt ness's

Honestly that interaction between the two girls is so real. There are so many people in real life who were taught just like Gabi that certain groups of people are less than others since birth. Just because that's the culture they grow up in.. They don't know better and it takes a MASSIVE wake up call like what Gabi is getting to snap them out of their prejudice.. Or they never do

Actually it IS a great idea on Gabi's part. If they can escape without being seen then THAT guard won't be able to call for help any time soon. Their chances of escape are now infinitely better. If they left the guard alive he'd have called for back up WAY before they even came close to even getting out of the prison. But with him dead the other guards will have to leave their posts and go LOOKING for him. That will mean there are less guards at their posts and Gabi and Falco can move around more easily. so yes, it a great plan EXCEPT They are on an ISLAND water on all sides and Marley is HOURS away maybe even days way from where they are. So it's a great plan to escape the prison, but not a great plan to escape Paradis Island.
With Zeke gone, I wonder if Reiner is the one n charge of the titans or if it's Pieck. I would assume Reiner because he has the experience on Paradis Island. I mean it's true that Pieck was also there, but Reiner knows the people and military enough to be able to make plans that are effective against the Scouts. Pieck was really there to be Zeke's backup and not much else.

Yeah, By talking to both Eren and Reiner, Falco has started to understand who bogger picture. and he's intelligent enough to know that the people in charge were lying to him for their own reasons and NOT for the sake of "Humanity." Falco's showing a great deal of maturity for someone in his position and for his age. Gabi is so self absorbed and so desperate for recognition that she allowed herself to be made submissive.
I actually take back what I said about her being brainwashed; I don't actually think she IS. I think it's because she wants so desperately to be SEEN as "A good Eldian" that she says whatever will make the Marleyans NOT abuse her on sight. and she's done it for so long now that she does it now without even realising it; she conditioned herself to say this stuff by reflex. The reason I don't think she's actually brainwashed is because you can see in that scene that she KNOWS what she's been saying is wrong. She's trying to defend herself and she can't and she knows it. Even Falco is trying to get through to Gabi.

It's not JUST that Bagi is brainwashed; she's also completely ignorant. everything she's saying about the Eldians' past and their ancestors is the same thing that Falco tried to argue against her IN Marley. When he told her that Eren's attack was him responding to when Marley attacked the Island by sending Reiner and the others. And her response was "Did YOU see it happen??" and here she is blaming the Paradis residents for something THEY didn't even DO. It was their ancestors who fled Marley who were the "Devils" Ever since they've been on the Island they haven't DONE anything and yet Marley were the ones continually sending Titans at them. The ONLY reason Paradis even HAS Titans is because Marley was sending titans there.
I hate that they don't understand Gabi, I totally hate that, she's my favorite carácter.
