@@christopherriley607 it’s the fact he’s talking to an experienced origin player on when the players execute the best. He’s played 22 origins. Even though it’s a debating panel, you should know when to step down when talking to a veteran

@@Dan-dd8cf Yes, but the game style is different. Grant and B.Smith are different to Cam, they control the game differently. Plus C.Smith was everything, Captain, Hooker, controller.....he did everything. Now it's up to multiple players, B.Smith/Grant, Munster, Hughes, Paps/Hynes......
Cam Smith didn't coach he taught the ref's the rules. Look at what's happened to the game and officiating since we've lost our head ref 😂😂😂

I’d say not selecting current Cowboys players by an Ex cowboys coach would be a great start. Picking spuds like Feldt, Coen Hess 😂 and FFS Val Holmes is not a fullback!!! At any level!! He’s a winger.
Bit late but Holmes is a brilliant winger but he's shown time and time again that he's not a first grade fullback let alone a rep fullback.
Cam Smith I reckon he would make a great coach
Give him a shot. Hes the best fullback to play the game. Been coached by the one of the best coaches in the nrl his whole career at the storm and been part of the only origin team to win 8 straight series aswell as being under the only coach to coach a team to 8 straight series wins which means he gained some coaching experience along the way. He has a great mind and IQ for the game and i personally think hed do a great job.
A good player does not make a good coach. eg Wally Lewis.

True, and it’s not like Freddy had a great track record as a first grade coach, but he was a great candidate for the Blues job.

Billy Slater, Cameron Smith, Johnathon Thurston and Cooper Cronk there is the next 20 years of Qld Origin coachs with a win percentage of 75%.
There could be any one of a number of former Maroons’ legends that could do it but I heard Smith isn’t interested in the Queensland job... Yet.
I hope Smith Coaches under Bellyache and learns how to Coach, he has such a good footy brain and I think he would make a brilliant coach. Then he might become a good candidate to coach Origin later on.
@@SilentHotdog28 ... I read an interview recently where Smith said he had been approached, but admitted he just wasn’t interested or ready yet. Outside of Bennett or Bellamy, he couldn’t hope for a better mentor & could maybe get Cronk or JT to help him.

How cooper talks about Slater Smith and Thurston as being guns, yet he is a gun himself, probably the best of the four, I don’t understand.
He's modest in that regard, he's never been one to talk him self, he's just let his actions do the talking.
I don't know why Cooper can't listen to Kenty, after all Kent has played every level of the game, coached several premiership winning teams, won Dally M for every position available, Mr Universe, Nobel Prize winner. The poor guy just doesn't get the credit he deserves for all of his experience!

I see Cronk as a better fit for QLD coach but only after a few years under Wayne's tutelage.
maguire is a coach in the NRL and he is NOT one of the best coaches. fitler tried coaching at club level and it failed, he had a break and went to origin, slater could do well and truly do it along with 2 good assistant coaches

Slater will get the job and he will have thurston and smith as his assistant coaches. What more could you ask for three of the best qlders to play origin using there footy brains. Nsw will struggle
unfortunately for you those 3 greats won't magically make NSW struggle, we have the best players by far, and fittler is no push over.
@@shanehodges6980 I wouldn't say by far, Qld had a fair amount of injury the last two years and it's shown however still on paper not the superior side but attitude has a lot to do with it and Paul Green didn't bring that to the table.

Slater is my favourite player. Has been for years. But he isn’t going to bring the QLD to beat the blues. NSW simply have the better pack of players. Same as QLD did a few years ago. Most have retired. It happens. Sorry QLDERS. Going to be a blue wash for a while.
