If you use the pull down 'kick stands' on the rear 'axel' assembly, the unit will balance and stand upright without resting on the tip over wheels. I didn't realize they were there until somebody sent me a video of it from Travel Buggys web site.

Is it possible to use the buggy with just 1 battery installed. I saw another similar chair that can run with 1 or 2 batteries and thought if purchasing a chair it would be handy to have a spare battery onboard should the chairs batteries get depleted while still away from home?

Yes the City 2 Plus can run on a single battery but have 1/2 the distance on a single charge. When purchasing the unit, it does come with 2 batteries so you can put both of them in the chair and charge them both and have up to the 15 mile range that this chair is estimated for. You could purchase extra batteries if need be so you can have the extra range you spoke about. Give us a call and we can get one ready for you with extra batteries if you wanted. Our number is 800-677-6293.

You want to make sure if you aren't using your power chair on a regular basis, you will want to plug it up to the charger at least once a week. if you don't charge a battery for a while, it wont continue to take a charge and you would have to replace your batteries. We see batteries that haven't been charged in 6 months needing to be replaced on a regular basis. Id say plug it up to the charger and get it to full, then use it until the battery level indicator reaches the red lights and then plug it back up to a charger. You don't need to charge it every night, just when it gets low and if you aren't using it for a while, remember to plug it up to a charger once a week. Hope this helps!

How do you prevent theft or lock the unit

You would treat this unit just like you would your car when leaving it. Remove the key from the ignition and take it with you. Hope this helps!

      @@Marcsmobilityjust an FYI
There isn’t a Key. Thanks for your sarcasm. I was shopping for BOTH a new Electric Wheelchair AND All-Terrain Mobility Scooter like the Baja, but if your way of responding to potential clients is in this mannerism, then you’ve lost a nice chunk of business.
I also needed ramps for the back of our second deck and were interested in a Harmar stair lift for two levels of our home.
You never know who you’re responding to and the possibility of losing a sale when you respond DISHONESTLY.
My new Travel Buggy with all the accessories and purple cushion rides wonderfully and I purchased a lock.
I’ll be sure to write a Google review as well.

Hi sorry, for the previous comment, we mistook which video the original comment was on. Removing the key from the ignition is how to prevent theft on mobility scooters. The City 2 Plus has a quick disconnect on the joystick cable, and a knob that holds the joystick in place. This allows you to easily remove the joystick and take it with you, and prevent the unit from being driven away. An actual lock is still the best bet since the unit doesnt weight very much. Hope this helps!

In most of our videos there is a description under the video itself. For future reference, we post links and information in there to the unit that is being reviewed in the video. There you would find the link to this webpage for this particular unit being reviewed. For your convenience I am adding the link in this comment. This unit is $2,999. Hope this answers your question.
