I love that you all fish as a family...looks like fun!!
Butterfly a mullet for dead bait
Yep but I always fish along
I went fishing recently (first in a while) and i used live bate for the first time. I think i used a small parrot first, then a little angel fish but I'm not a great angler so I didn't get to land any of them but I just saw my rod bend like it was about to break. one of the greatest feelings so far since I've been fishing. Definitely doing that again.
You guys are awesome. We just moved to Florida and my 11 yr old son is obsessed with learning to fish the beaches. Your videos are awesome. Thank you for being family friendly and informative! If you know of any groups that do fishing lessons please let us know as we have been trying to find someone to give us a crash course in person.
You guys are great!
Helping other fisherman is what i do best!
With tips, instructions and the know how to catch bigger fish only the local professional knows about.
45 years experience,i been fisherman since i was 4 years old.Have a fishing rod in my hands day and night almost everyday of my life.I know what's out there, and how to catch them day and night year round.I never stop fishing,i don't know how to stop fishing, and i don't want to know.
That's so cool !!
Im watching you like its 1 am coz ill be heading out at 5 am for my first time beach fishing.
It's been a year from the comment, but did you catch many fish?
Good luck fishin !
Your videos are fantastic. The reason why is you are actually giving people something. You explain what you are doing. A lot of others youtube channels are just like, watch me reel in this big fish and don't explain anything. Where are you fishing out of most often?
Been surf fishing about once a year for the last 20 or so. Really enjoyed your video! Learned a couple things.
Happy to help:)
I typically use either mullet, pin fish, or whiting. Just depends on what is running in the surf that trip.
Once I catch some bait I’ll typically throw out three rods, one live, one cut bait using steaks/heads, and one with the filet.
Depending on which ones are getting hit I’ll change up accordingly.
On the bigger live baits like big whiting I’ll use a double hook rig. One in the front top and a smaller diameter hook just above and forward the tail.
That’s increased my hook ups on them smaller toothy critters that normally give you them false runs.
Great video thanks for putting it together
Dude, Ur channel is awesome. I've never seen a better channel on " how too " fishing on pier or surf fishing as good as yours.. Tks again pal.
Great job. We use always try to get pins, finger mullet, or greenbacks off the beach. Shrimp always works too. One pomp rig with 2 shrimp and one fishbites, and other rods solo with pins. Cut ladyfish or mullet just fine too. Lee county fl.
Step number one: Move to Florida Coastal area's.
Step number two: Be sure to complete step one. That's all you gotta do.
foreal you cannot do this on the northwest coast lol
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Or south texas/ rest of the gulf coast
Lol "area's"
@@Diego_Xander why it can not be done in the northwest coast? Because is illegal to use fish you catch as bait ?
I have not had much luck on the beach near me. However just last year I did on the jetty with live finger mullet caught with my casting net. Last year was my first year salt water fish and first time fishing period in many years. I hope for a better year this year. Thank you for what you do. It has beenvery helpful to myself and many others .
Your so lucky that you get to hang with your dad.
When I was a kid 6-10 I lived at Pax river naval air test center in Lexington park MD. I would fish in the Basin and the beaches to the west of that and catch bluefish that size on a cane pole and 24” strippers.
That was in the early 70’s. Solomon’s Island was right across the river and my brother Bill would sail across and we would play in the old lighthouse on the point. Good times. Could get a jon boat for the day if I got the captain two dozen blue crabs. It took me 20 min checking the pylons at the base marina dock then screw around for a few hours with my friends.
Thanks for sharing with us.
Mate i could fish for 2 years around our beaches and wouldnot even catch ss prawn it definitely depends on you're environment i am so jealous
Cut bait gives the fish more smell to attract the target species
Lower thr rod tip when fightingbbthevvfish i think the high angle is pullingvvthe bait out of the fished mouthand i wouldvvalso try throwing out different distancesareas
We call them tailer in sth australia try a chrome lure ar a prawn jig works in australia
Hey. Shelter cove CA here. New shore angler. I followed your instructions in this video and landed my first 28 inch Halibut! Thanks man!
Dude i love what you guys do! Thanx for all the great tips! Cant wait ro get out there and catch sum fish.
Awesome vid! Thanks for sharing.🤙...which beach were you on in Florida?
Storytime....My first time fishing in North Carolina , I was fishing at a marina in hatteras and caught a red drum, I thought it was huge, biggest fish I had ever caught, 28 inches and pretty fat , didn’t get a weight... we also caught some croaker and a flounder that we had for dinner that night, after eating my flounder I ran down to the beach at around 10pm and threw half a croaker out on an 11/0 hook just for fun and ended up landing my first shark ever it was about 3.5 feet long , all in the same day. It was an amazing experience for me because I’d gone to hatteras every summer but never gone fishing until in one day I had the best day of my fishing career
WOW! its was so long i did not even read it
Hey Skipper! Hey Erin! Mom! Hey Dad! I love your surf fishing videos!!! The sound of the waves adds excitement as you dash up and down the beach!!! Way to land it Mom!!!
Great Bonding , family time . Really enjoy your vids man ! Keep it up Erin !!! Wish my wife would take trips and have a good time like you!
Bunker all day everyday around Jersey area!
Should do a video of how to get our wives into fishing😂👍
Peter James I am a wife who got my husband into fishing lol
SHOUTOUT to the pretty woman behind the camera. You’re always so happy and positive. That translates to the viewers like me, my excitement climbs and I feel like I’m pulling in a fish too.
Oh btw ur fam has a real good vibe, even through video. Cheers!
I'm not a beginner but you guys are very entertaining..especially during the down time here on the Jersey shore, waiting for the spring Striper run. chunk bait works really well especially bunker but also squid, clam and shrimp. we catch HUGE blues around here 20lbs easy. sometimes it's a problem getting through them to get to the Stripers. keep up the interesting work and maybe hit the Jersey shore sometime would love to fish with you guys one day..awesome fun
This is so awesome! Thank you for making the video!
Thanks for watching Marilyn!! What have you been catching lately?
Hey Skipper I haven’t been fishing in a long time, but, we are headed to do some beach fishing in Virginia Beach this weekend. Of course we are waiting to see if it is flooded out after Hurricane Dorian. What are you catching?
I also like a Carolina rig. It does not hold your bait in one area like a pyramid sinker but lets the bait move about more. Both methods work well. I enjoyed the video. Keep up the good work.
What reel size and rod size you use ? And what power on the rod ?
Thanks guys !!!!!
YOUR INSTRUCTION AND EXPLANATION IS GREAT, YOUR EDITING IS JAM UP AS WELL, PDF'S ARE SO PRO LOOKING, THIS IS THE WAY YOU TEACH A CLASS ON SURF FISHING, I HAVE ALSO USED SPIDER WEIGHTS AND I HAVE A BUDDY THAT RUNS LINES OUT WITH JET SKI'S. A LOT OF FUN.
My best way to catch big fish on the beach is a high low rig with 6/0 circle hooks and in the surf i use big baits so i use squid large sardines and i cut the head of and the tail some times i use anchovies live or dead with that gear i cought a 57 pound hailabut
#catchbigfish
Victor Muñoz from where?
Victor Muñoz How do you keep the anchovies from falling apart?
Elle Deedee freezing or getting them salted
One. Method I use is live bait with a balloon as a float sometimes if the wind js blowing in the right direction you can get the bait quite far from shore and catch really large fish.
8:50 mom was probably all relaxed listening to some BTS songs with her beat headphones until poppa excitedly called her over to catch his fish so he could listen to the songs.
Great to see you guys protecting the future of our sport with Catch & Release. Great video - thanks! 👌
When you talked about how sharp the bluefish theeth are, it reminded me of that one video Extreme Philly Fishing posted when his brother-in-law got bit by one and the damage it did on him
Melvin Rodriguez yeah me too dude that was crazy
See toes go missing from blues under boards
I was honestly surprised to see him pull out the hook by hand. I always use pliers and same for most people I know. Just rather not fuck with them I enjoy my fingers too much.
that moment you dad invites your mom to land that fish.. that look on his face.. pure love. that was so sweet!
We are moving from Indiana to the Clearwater Florida area within the next three to four weeks and I can hardly wait to do beach and pier fishing. I have never done either before. I am going to need to get the proper equipment. I love your videos as well.
Can you list your gear, rods, reels, line, etc, in the comments section.
I had the same question
same question
new to surf casting. Helped a lot. Was using a triple swivel. Changing the technique. Thanks
Where’s The BIG FISH 😜
Caught my first flounder at the coast in Texas! Channel fishing, used shrimp with 3 oz weight on braid. You guys are awesome.
When using live bait I like to hook them through the eyes instead of through the back. They seem to stay alive longer.
Don't know if anyone else has mentioned......you'll get lots more distance on your casts using the pendulum cast. Really enjoy your vids! (Stuck in Idaho.)
The shoulder😂😂
The uhh.... dorsal.... shoulder? 😂
Senko Skipper yah the dorsal fin
I have to stop watching your videos. I live in Phoenix, AZ and can not get to the beach but 2 or 3 times a year. But thank you for letting me live vicariously though you. Enjoying every minute, just wish I could join you.
Dude, you don't set the hook with circle hooks.
50% true
Noah Birmingham i like this comment way too much not to comment back😂
Hey Skipper!!! Love your channel bro. On top of all the great content you put out, it is so great to see you with the family outdoors enjoying life. Keep up the good work. "Happy Fishing" from Texas.
"I should use cut bait!" Lol
Maybe if you paid any attention you would realize everything he caught except for one was on cut bait.
Bluefish are a lot of fun to catch. My son and I caught 25 in 4 hours last week in OBX. It was awesome!
What bait did he use. I’m having trouble catching fish here
@@beachbuster9716 we went to jeanettes pier at 6am. Using vertical jigs. Just drop it all the way down, let it sit for a sec., then reel and pump straight up. By the third pump they would bite.
@@beachbuster9716 I also used some old cut shrimp to chum where i was fishing since they weren't biting that. The baitfish were tho.
bucketsof lead thank you bro. Headed to a pier and caught some baitfish and got a skate on live bait and while trying to catch baitfish (12lb leader) I forgot I had light leader when a big fish started to scream drag... started tightening down and I broke my leader :/ soon through a kroaker head out and an hour later I got hit. Had an hour and a half long fight with a +150lb ray. Absolutely massive and wouldn’t fit in the pier net. When those things stick to the ground in the middle of the fight it is incredibly hard to pull them up. Caught on a 4500 spin fisher with 30lb braid. 3/0 circle hook 40lb mono leader and a ugly stick tiger lite rod
I was wondering how to catch bigger fish because when i go to the beach i use shrimp but all i catch is some small cat fish and Kroger so do you have any tips on what I can do
Depending on where ur at croaker make great bait cut up in chunks great redfish bait .
An old salt told me if you're catchin cats your baits too old.
When I was station at Camp Shelby, Ms (45 min from the beach), I used small pin fish and fillet the big ones. Cut the fillet pin fish into strips. Caught sea trout, red fish, drum, sharks, croaker, flounder, etc. ... all day long. All great eating fish.
Good job MOM
+javier Villa very 🙌
Love watching your family fish. I've had great luck catching bonnet head sharks using cut mackerel. The more oily the fish, the better chance you have at landing big game fish.
Go dad
You need bigger hooks, 7/0 or 8/0 and freespool when using fish finder rig. Less lost fish.
Great vid. Awesome setup
Florida beach.and sky look good
I like this guy his one of the best fisher mens that will take the time and teach a lil bit for other people to fish most of fishing channels dont teach they dont tell you what they used or how to do it i love this famaly
Hey brother... love the vids... What I usually do is cut the heads / tails off then cut the fins off... I find they don't really like to clamp down hard with pin fish.. but if there are no pins they chomp down hard.
Love your videos! I'm a beginner and I live in the Caribbean (lake fishing lately is slow since hurricane Maria so I took up saltwater fishing and I'll be sure to try this out !!!
I live in St.Augustine, Florida and the beaches here are amazing...if you ever visit please fish Manatee Point (Bridge mouth into inlet) Vilano bridge! Huge Reds and Grouper and Tarpon....its my favorite place to fish. Love the vids!!
Haven't done much saltwater fishing in 40+ years, but I'm getting interested again!
YES GUYS LOVE THE VIDEOS HERE IN AUSTRALIA WE CALL THE FISH YOU CAUGHT BEFORE ON THE LAST VIDEO IT WAS A THREAD FIN SALMON WE CATCH THEM IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA THEY ARE REALY NICE TO EAT VIRTUALLY THE SAME TASTE AS THOSE GREEN BACK TAILOR YOU WHERE CATCHING ON THE BEACH
I like to use sunfish and shad cut or alive. I haven't made a video yet because the weather hasn't been the best here in Florence Alabama. I fish the Tennessee river. I love your videos🎣. I am trying to learn new things to making videos. Can't wait to see another video.
Hello , I enjoy your videos especially the surf fishing ones..
Because of the area I moved has alot of beaches I have learning how to use surf set ups and I can say it has been a blast so far .
Q. I see you catching alot of species I'd like to know or hear more about which fish you enjoy keeping to eat and why. Thank you in advance keep up the fun times ✌️
Man I wish I could find a women that likes fishing. Love you’re videos keep them coming bro. Much love from California..
1 "women"?
In Australia bluefish(tailor) are very prized fish! I recommend u try some on ur tastebuds guys! Great video once again!!
I’ve learned a lot watching your videos thank you, keep it up 😊💯
Hi Mate ,
A couple of tips on beach 🏖 fishing 🎣..When chunking use a #19 rubber band . Attach it to the shank and pertaining to the first two cuts after the head wrap the band around the piece in a 12/6-9/3 attitude..This will help to keep the guts intact and function as a chum slick on the bottom out there somewhere..
When live lining There is a washer type (not metal) like a rubber band with a very small hole so that when you place it on the hook it will take hold and not move ..Placed on either side of the 🐠 fishes body it will tend to captivate the fish and not shift on the shank of the hook..Hope this helps..Tight lines .
If you want bluefish and shark try seastrike mullet rig with the feathers. You won't be dissappointed!!Tight lines!!
I started surf fishing the OBX Nc. Just got back from another trip today. Caught some puppy drum and a couple rays on pea island. Looking for some more spots in the OBX. If you could steer me in the right direction for some better spots it would be much appreciated. I watch your videos all the time. I really have learned allot watching you fish.
not fair ! you guys are having way too much fun there!
Love the passion you have for fishing. Going to Isle of Palms tomorrow and I haven't surf fished in 20 years but I have my rig and tackle ready to go so I can rekindle an old love! Thanks for a great refresher, you guys are great!
THIS VIDEOS GREAT IM NEW TO FLORIDA SO YOUR TIPS ARE GOING TO BE USED IM LOOKING TO HEAD TO THE BEACH THIS WEEKEND I WILL BE MORE THEN HAPPY CATCHING BLUES .THANKS FOR THE TIPS
That’s why I rarely swim in the surf. And thanks for the fun video and some awesome camera work.
This is the first time ive seen any of your videos, this was pretty fun to watch.
Carolina rig with 4 oz pyramid sinker a gamagatsu circle hook with chunks of fresh fillet mackerel on 40 lbs braid line
Love these videos. I just moved to Florida and realize I have sooo much to learn. I def need to find a few fishing friends like yall. Keep making vids. Im learnin.
What kind of pole is that and how long? You guys have helped me so much with saltwater fishing and your tips I take to heart. Thanks for all you do in the fishing community!
Thank you so much for your beach fishing help. Going fishing in the Philippines next month and had no idea what if any lures to bring.
Great vid! 👍🏻 I use all 3 methods, live, cut, and fillets.
Nice job. When I was a little kid I caught blue fish that size on a cane pole at Pax river MD NATC in the basin at the hovercraft ramp and bigger stripped bass. Got picked up by security. It was worth it.
I love catching blues from the beach. Cut bait is excellent. Ive been using artificial recently for blues from the beach and its way more fun. Use a spoon or a top water and you’ll destroy them. There are times when Ill catch one every cast using a top water.
I am new to fishing and by the way love your channel. I've been using dead bait. Right now red snapper and flounders are running here in Texas
Love this channel. You guys are FRESH. Great content. Thanks
What type and size hook are you using? Your videos have helped me become a better fisherman and teach others who are also just starting. You guys are awesome !!!
I love watching your videos! Your family makes me happy! Fishing is an amazing way to spend quality time together and I see a lot of your videos have a lot of family in them! And having a girl that fishes with you??? Great stuff! You guys are goals!
+ZdoubleU :) I agree, Fishing makes for great bonding times.
I truly enjoy watching your videos I’m learning alot
In my places for bluefish are used sardine with foam in the abdomen and two hooks,or mullet fillet. Anyway i caught one pretty nice with worm and pop up :)
I like your videos. Not over the top. Well put together and good information. I also like that you are focusing on helping people fish this year. I love fishing, absolutely suck though, and I barely have the time. I would like to see a video on budget conscious gear. I live in Jacksonville Florida.
+joshua valdez I’m going to help you not suck. I promise.
Senko Skipper thanks
Truest words ever spoke. I just said that to someone. If you have never been fishing let someone take you blue fishing you will either hate it or love it.
I'm hundreds of miles from the ocean but I totally love your channel!
I have never beach fished. I looking forward.. Will cut bait of sardine fish work... which part should I use???
Bro.....if your going for bug fish you need steel leaders....them teeth will shred mono/floro. Also them small blues are great for shark
YES a surf fishing video my favorite!
+TheMasterCasters wassup!
Senko Skipper great video too! how many more Florida videos do you have?
Hey guys been watching to your videos I really like how you give detail explanation of how everything thanks for the Goode work so looking forward in joining your Facebook page!!
I love catching blues. Nice video.
I enjoy the videos. Very detailed for a beginner like me. Keep them coming.
Squid, ragworm, lugworm, mackerel...are all popular beach baits in Falmouth, Cornwall, UK 👌
Thanks.! I am trying beach fishing for the first time! Any advices send thanks a lot! Following!
Great video as always I live on Long Island I like to use live eels for bass there like candy to them I also make my own bucktails and have a small business called Point hookers would love to send you guys some stuff to use and possibly review
Thank u senko for that info about catching fish from the beach
i still yet to try live baiting on the beach but for me i prefer using bait on the beach: always worked out on some days haha used a bit of salted baits but recently had more luck on the freshbait as well. awesome video btw haha man those bluefish really destroyed those live baits. look forward to the next beach fishing video
In new zealand we do a simaler thing to catch kingfish. We in new zealand use a slidebaiting method it works really well. you just cast youre sinker out and atach the live bait after and it can swim up and down the line or only down you might want a bigger reel and rod for the rod about 12 to 14 foot dedacated for surf casting as known in new zealand
Im not a beginner at all. Awesome video as usual !!!
