Oh, my gosh, Herrick! Your imagination and inventing never stops! I wish I had more, myself. What a great idea! I've got orchard trees blooming, and yet a snow storm coming through (especially in the Sierras). My seeds are germinating here in the house with warming mat and growing light. So looking forward to spring in my row garden, and minibeds (now in their 7th year). Harvesting cauliflower, cabbage, and tons of broccoli here in zone 9. Regards from far north California

I’ve totally thought of making these, but haven’t done it yet. I already have a carpet pad piece I was planning to use. My daughter has a no-shoes rule at her house and I hate going barefoot with my foot issues.

In homes where that rule exists, I refuse to take my shoes off; I feel naked doing so.

Hmm could these be made out of carpet? Reason I ask is that I just tore out a lifetime supply of carpet from a house I am preparing to sell. The underlayment in my situation looked like foam pieces pressed together and that stuff tears easily and wouldn't last. I was thinking bottom of carpet to the outside on both pieces and maybe a leather pad glued to the bottom.

In the pnw, in the old days, they used a cedar board with a leather strap to put on caulked boots to wear inside for a bit. I should make a video myself about them someday

I like the muddy boot idea. It'll work great for when I come in for lunch during my stays in the garden. By the way, are we going to see any of your garden experiences this spring? I miss your garden content. Good stuff.

You have grasped the concept. I made these just in time for spring gardening. Will be planting peas and spinach next week. I will have a Minibed garden review soon. It has been in place now for 7 growing seasons. The experiment continues. I'm not sure how many more gardening videos I can make without being redundant. But will make them as new ideas or interesting things come up. Thanks for the comment.

@@herrickkimball My reused billboard plastic is just about worn out; cracks everywhere. It's been a great experiment, though, and I still don't really have to weed, which is nice because I will always have to hoe weeds in my row garden. This year I will start growing vegetable plants in my orchard, too. That was my husband's idea. I will plant next to the trunks and with a wire fence around, but wanting to keep my seeds pure and to harvest seeds instead of having to purchase, I have to plant far away from other genus' of the same. Do you seed-save? Regards from far north God's Golden California!

@@elizabethjohnson475 Interesting about the billboard plastic. How many years do you figure it lasted? I do save some seeds. Beans, tomaotoes. lettuce. None of the biennials... yet.
