I wonder how the stock airbox would perform without the restrictive intake? You could try to cut off the pipe right after the restriction to see if that makes any difference.
As a follow-up, you could also attach the cold air intake piping to the modified airbox.
This would give you two more data points for your experiment. :)
I have tried it without that flexi pipe, it was even worse because the intake air temperature was higher. But yes it should work much better with properly placed and sized inlet 😊

You would have more power gains if you heat wrapped your exhaust manifold as the heat wrap traps the heat
The small inlet makes more torque in the low rpms but if you will have more hp you need more rpm 😉 if you modify your new airkit with a second cover on the rearside so like a airram system you become a better Performance 😊👍 thanks for the englisch version , your englisch is mutch more better then mine 😅. BMW e36 become coldair with ram system its in front of the cooler the airintake 😁 what cost the program and the stuff for a road dyno and were i can buy it??

That's Ecumaster Road Dyno. All Ecumaster ecus have that, even my piggyback. It needs rpm, speed etc and it makes the graph based on those numbers

Okay so in the end, if the Cold Air kit is installed correctly you can gain a little bit of power and probably make the engine breathe a little bit better. Problem is that here Cone FIlters are illegal for some reason ( i think for the added sound) and could be a big problem if they catch you.. But i'm seriously thinking about installing one because here in italy the summer temperatures are really high and i've noticed a lot of power loss going uphill
My only fear is of course the police but also, what if you hit a puddle? Water can get in the Air Intake more easely
Those are legal to use in here but engine breather hose must be connected to air filter piping or directly to intake manifold. It's very unlikely to get any water where the air filter is, at least if the pothole is under 20cm deep 😃

Cone filters are also illegal in Australia, at least for "modern" cars, I believe with classics anything goes as they're not driven so often. Cone filters are illegal due to if the car has a hiccup of sorts and spits fuel back out the intake, apparently a cone filter is much more of a fire hazard than the standard boxed filter, though this law is easy to bypass, I've heard people pass inspections by putting the filter inside literally a tupperware box with a hole in it.
@@UniCrafter here the problem isnt about inspections, not in many cases, it's more about what kind of police officer you meet
Some officer understand that you are only making the engine more efficent but other only watch the actual Law and they punish you with a Ticket and if i remember correctly, here they can take away your Car's paper.
@@coraz98 similar thing here, but if a car can pass inspection there's nothing a police officer can do, so generally people modify their cars to pass inspection. Police CAN fine you for technically legal mods, but you can easily dispute them.

Was the car tuned for the cold air intake, or was the same tuning used for both intakes? Would be interesting to see how much potential the cold air intake has if not.
I think it was the same parameters with other intake 😊👍 with this setup is 2hp a good Performance only turbo makes more Performance with the same stuff

There's two M6 bolts and one spring holding it

The 1,2 8v has 60hp, how did you get it over 80?
I have Punto 75 camshaft and intake manifold, 46mm throttle body from Bravo 1.6 (10mm bigger), bigger fuel injectors and Walbro 255lph fuel pump, 4-2-1 performance exhaust manifold and Ecumaster DET3+ for tuning
That’s a lot of mods for only 25 HP…

Bro its a hot air intake... Just wrap it with anti hot tape
It doesn't make a difference to intake air temperature when driving, only when idling for a longer period of time. The air goes through the intake piping so fast it doesn't have the time to heat up
