Debunking Myths: Is Reincarnation, Karma, Taught in the Bible

- Have you ever heard someone say that Jesus taught reincarnation? That reincarnation was taught in the Bible but it was taken out. Or that John the Baptist was Elijah the Prophet reincarnated? Some people say that Jesus was just the reincarnated Buddha of His time, and past lives and the memories people have of them are proof of reincarnation. What about the conspiracy that Jesus visited India and became super spiritual?
If you’ve ever heard any of these things then this video is for you, my friend.
I intend to debunk each one of these claims biblically.
It took many hours of research and reading to compile this information. I condensed it the best I could and I hope it's useful for you. I'm grateful to serve the body of Christ. It was worth the time! I even spoke to some of my friends who are still in the New Age to get their insight on what they believe about reincarnation. I was able to have some fruitful discussions with them about this and how it contradicts the Gospel.

Also, what do you think about remote viewing cuz the CIA's experiments show it is possible. I've read some of the declassified documents and it's definitely happening. I just want to know if you think it's a demon causing it or what cuz I don't know. I know they cause the brain waves of the subjects to do some weird stuff through vibrations like the monks do in Tibet for example. The OM sound and other mantras cause them to see all over the place and at different times. I'm not interested in doing it, this is just more research.

I first began watching your videos when I was still deep in New Age (how I grew up, never had any solid biblical teachings) and just opening my mind up to Christ, and my goodness, I used to feel this inner scratching of irritation and anger, only to later realize that it was the demonic entities that had been a part of my life since I was 13 trying to move me away from solid doctrine. All my friends and my mom are all still new age and most of them have started to drift away from me, I feel this resistance and that open hostility is very real. Especially from my Mom, sadly. As a baby Christian I'm glad that I found you
Stay strong. It's really hard losing your friends & family for Christ. Yet you never know who else will follow you. My longtime friends and family have totally cut me off, but I have several social media friends who are now born again...in part from hearing my testimony. God can use you, Kerryn. Get into a good Bible-believing church if you haven't already. Being around believers, especially those who were in new age or other faiths really helps.

My wife and I are going through a divorce. It has a lot to do with an addiction and lies on my part, but in the last several months I've really reconnected with my faith and have truly begun to understand what it means to fully surrender to god. We've spoken a few times about what happened to me the last couple of months and initially she seemed happy but recently she's become hard and distant and it seems to be directly linked to my renewed passionate faith. She's not a believer btw. This video perfectly incapsulates the few things I've been able to get out of her about what she believes in and I think could really help her. I'm asking for prayer for myself to be able to share this with her in a loving manor and that she'd be open to listening and for our marriage. Even if my marriage can't be saved she's still the mother of my two kids and I love her dearly and want her to know Christ. Sorry for the novel. Thank you.

My Hindu friend was trying to tell me about Catholics being taught Yoga when they visited. It's really hard to tell people the Gospel these days because so many "Christian" churches are not really Christian.
Yes, this seems to be very common among all christian denominations. Catholics, Orthodox, Protestants... All of them. It's actually sad. So many people get lost in these types of belief systems just because they don't know the history of christianity and the very word of God.
Who needs hell when you have reincarnation? That's a great question! Praise God we only have to live once.

That you so much Melissa. I have a friend who has been trying to talk me out of Christianity. She is under the influence of "spirit guides". So much of what you said speaks of things she believes. I really appreciate all the research you did to make this video.
I would rebuke those demons influencing her in Jesus' name. And pray for them to leave her. I used to have "spirit guides" too. Tell her to test the spirits as God's word says and when she realizes that they are masquerading as angels of light, help lead her to Jesus. God bless you.
I used to have “spirit guides” as well. Before I accepted Christ I had a friend that I talked with this about. He apparently had them too and could talk to them regularly like me. They told him he was a Druid in a past life. When I became Christian he went off on me in my initial post on FB(where I say I’m a Christian and no longer in witchcraft) and in DMs as well. Poor guy 😢 breaks my heart. Please pray for his salvation

Overall, watch and send some outstanding testimonies from people who were into this dark side of spirituality and came to Christ. Especially if they didn’t come from a Christian background that will be even more compelling for people who are anti Christianity.

Wow, Melissa. Another incredible video, this really helped me. I didn't realize how I still carried some guilt from new age beliefs.
When I was 3-14/15 I was sexually assaulted by my bio dad, step dad and later my drug dealer/boyfriend. As well as being abused by them and others and suffering with bipolar disorder/OCD/PTSD/psychosis from my past trauma. I didn't realize until you posted this that I still blamed myself for all the things that happened to me, as if as a child or past life I did something to deserve it. Its difficult to realize that it's not my fault because it feels like it should be.
I also feel that the theology of karma feeds into a lot of victim blaming. I've been asked what I did to perpetuate being raped or beat. Again, I was ages 3-14 or 15 when CAS finally took us away (my siblings went through the same thing).
I've also been struggling with why... why would this happen? Why do I still have to suffer? That passage about the blind man almost brought me to tears. I feel I have a partial answer, all I can do is trust God. Since I've started trusting Him I've gotten out of the abuse and drug addictions, was finally able to quit smoking, found an incredible husband who helps with my faith and healing and has tremendous patience with me, found supports in the community and have found some friends who love me despite my flaws and if I do something wrong will talk with me instead of judging me or being mean to me. God has helped me a lot. It's still a struggle but without Jesus and the hope He gives me I would have killed myself and refused to seek help because I thought my psychosis was a spiritual adventure and not a mental disorder

Your story is very similar to my mother’s. She chose to perpetuate the abuse and neglect though, and abandoned us as kids. And now my sister is choosing to go down a similar path willingly. When I think of my own family, and the treachery they were put through, and chose, and decide to stay in… I always think about the scripture that says that God visits the inequities of the unbelievers to the 3rd and 4th generations, but He cleanses the saved immediately, and frees them from the bondage of their fathers sins. I can’t exactly explain why that scripture is so comforting to me, it’s hard to verbalize.
God has given me so much grace and mercy. He has given me a completely new heart and mind, that is capable of seeing His Truth and following it. And He cleansed me of the sins that plagued my ancestry. Washing me anew, and taking me in as a sheep to be called His. And every since He marked me as His, He has blessed me so very much. Also with a faithful husband, and now a son who is 5. The blessing to keep home, and raise this child. And to raise up a new man for God right here under my own roof.
This sweet little child will never know a foster home like I did, nor will he ever have to sleep on the streets, nor will he ever be physically or mentally abused, nor will he go without heat or food, nor will he fear for his life while he tries to fall asleep. This sweet child gets everything I never had, and all because God is good, and faithful.
He saved me, and in saving me all the generations under me live in the blessing that comes with the fear and admonition of the Lord. I pray that I can do well by God, and that when I send this man out into the world one day, that he is strong in God and Truth. That’s what I pray now.

@Big Bird I’m trying to figure out how to reach my sister mentally with the Gospel right now. Since we come from similar backgrounds, I would really love to hear any ideas you might have? She’s very caught up in the worldly jargon, and sees herself as the victim of literally everything. I struggle to talk with her at all because of her bursts of raging psychosis and anger. I know that only Jesus can help her break free from that…. But how can I get through to her? Was there any resources online that helped you sweet sister? 🙏🏽♥️🙏🏽

Steven Furtick played a major role in my turning to the new age movement. His "narcigesis" ways drew me away from the Bible and pulled me more towards psychological "you can heal your own brain and control your own life by your mind" belief and mostly new age.
Btw, my favorite thing is when new agers use the "the EYE is the lamp of the body" verse to signal that Jesus taught about the third eye

More than 300 registered cases this year. The hindu radicals falsely accuse Christians in the name of forced conversions that is through money. Attacks on Christians are never talked or highlighted in the Indian media channels including the liberal ones. They might highlight one or two cases in a year. Pray for the persecuted church worldwide.

As for myself I never was in New Age and since you have been I appreciate so much the discernment you have been given on this subject particularly. Spirituality has been referred to something completely different than it once was. For someone who loved to make spiritual references from my own walk in the Lord I now feel as though I have to make clear precise reference to the scriptures because of where the adversary is taking the church. So many New Agers use their beliefs to justify sin, and factual crappy treatment of others. I remember being apart of it, thinking and acting that way myself. I was so arrogant, and so hurtful, to so many people. And when someone responded offended, I would remind them that “they were just operating really low on the emotional tone scale” and basically that they should try to be better then that. New Age gave me a license of self righteousness. 😔
I thank God first and can't thank you enough for taking the time and effort to bring out this teaching for the body of Christ.

Outstanding work, Melissa! ❤️I was raised with a belief in reincarnation. I spent my entire life deep in new age, even as a teacher. When I was born again (not in a church and with only the most minimal understanding of the gospel) I had a lot cognitive dissonance over that one. All I could do was give that belief to God as a sign of repentance. Whenever the thought came up, I would just surrender it. Ultimately, it was reading my Bible that deprogrammed it. Tell you what though...realizing that I had just ONE life and seeing where my fate was heading before the Holy Spirit snatched me away was quite sobering.

I've noticed that people who claim past lives are almost always someone who was either rich, famous or powerful. You never hear someone claim to have a past life of a person who was in an insane asylum, or someone who died on the streets starving and homeless during the great depression, or even a janitor at a fast food restaurant.
That was one of many things that returned me to the Bible.
Not true. I never thought I was an important person or people I know. My astrologer said I was a soldier and this could be the case because I have still many masculine traits like masculine perfume and clothes. But I am not lesbian or LGBTQ. Still am very female. Mel, I can't thank you enough for what you're doing!!! I, too, used to be a "New Ager" not knowing I wasn't a Christian. I even attended The Unity Church of Christianity". I got into T.M. at 10 years old because of my mother and Uncle. Now my mother is still Pagean eventhough my husband and children have all given our lives to Jesus. If you're ever concerned never think you've done enough! There's so many people still out there that need what you're teaching. I love Living Waters and Ray Comfort as well for this reason. I recently changed my website name but still doing one to "Lead People to Jesus Christ". I'm trying to use my past as inspiration as well!

Melissa words can not express how valuable you are for concisely explaining these subjects in a way all can understand and grow closer to Christ. I'm on this path, I have gone off trail many many times due to a plethora of concerns that I have with organized religion which discouraged my faith. From my personal experience I feel like many Christians have a tendency to discourage people more than evangelize them. I have met the rath of all too many of these people in my past.. Which led me to study and even practiced many other beliefs. Never quite feeling satisfied in the end. You seem to make sense of biblical subjects and concisely answer many questions that caused people to be discouraged do to your own past experience. I love this. You're amazing! Thank you..

Yes, Job will see Christ with his own eyes that will be in his resurrected body when Christ comes and just before He sits on the throne of David in the City of Jerusalem. Or maybe Christ is not glued to the seat, lol. According to Peter in Acts 2: [29] Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
[30] Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
I do not think Christ was lying when He said, Matt.5
[17] Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets (like David prophesying Christ was raised to sit on the throne of David): I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Thank you for providing these defenses against reincarnation. I too came out of New Age thought, thankfully at 18. However, my family continues in that thinking. Although, God is generally discussed, and I am often the one asked to pray at family gatherings, theology is never a topic we dive into. I will keep this video saved and rewatch so that, should Holy Spirit ever use this topic as a tool to reach my family, I will be ready. This is amazing and really appreciate your research in debunking these theories, a good friend is a new agent and when my daughter recently died make some comments about what I am to learn from this, which is unbelievable, she died from alcoholism and I never smoked or drank, so her thinking is so “ confused “ plus other things she mentioned such as her husband being told what to write in a novel by spirits, rather frightening actually . Thank you for your hours of research in debunking the many theories I have read about and questioned for years.
I wasn't even four minutes into this video when I watched you say, "Christian has become a subjective term, unfortunately". My God, that made me remember how I used to reserve a silent skepticism in the back of my mind whenever I asked people online, "are you really a Christian?", and they would readily agree, "of course I am". Whether I realized it or not, that reserved skepticism was a very efficient and truthful thing I was keeping in my mind.
Nowadays, I realize I've done something different instead. Without even daring to ask questions, I outright treat people I come across as if they have some tenable background knowledge about Christianity. However, I realize now that this is entirely because I've gotten into the habit of being an aspiring Christian author. One thing I truly don't like to do as an aspiring author is spoon feed my readers. I would rather for them to actually think and mentally chew digest the material (especially with all the references I would drop firsthand), rather than have me explain everything. Essentially, treating my readers as if they're intelligent, and not children who need to be told everything, is my attitude in writing.

Was interested in the "Jesus visiting India" theory.
This issue is why my sister and I haven’t talked in years. Its the reason I went after an associates in Biblical Studies actually. Something happened, then I said some Biblically incorrect things. I was also fed up with her habit of having me do all her research instead of picking up the Bible herself. I was always her personal study scapegoat (so she didn't have to read the Bible), she just piggy-backed on my studies. Anyhow, I'm so thankful for your videos. I'm trying to learn how to have grace along with my salt. You're giving me new insight on how to help the people I help. So, thank you. You reminded me of Greg's book that I bought and I will now be using that in a future conversation with my friend who unfortunately just revealed to me at tea this afternoon that she believes in a combination of Jesus and reincarnation.... completely threw me for a loop and I forgot some of my trusty tactics. It really surprised me how much she enjoys coming to church with me (I attend an almost baptist-y local independent church with expository preaching.) but has a different gospel. May need a sugar packet test...
Not to mention demons were around when past lives would've happened.

Too long for me to comment on all the philosophical arguments, as I don’t want to clutter up your youtube feed, but I have a couple questions that might require a book for a response. But I will say that I have seen these beliefs in reincarnation and similar destroy people’s lives, so it’s good you post these things. Yourt research is quite impressive, and I enjoy that sort of thing. My friend sent me one of your other videos where you quote libneiz, and I am a fan of his work, so I checked this out as well.
I never actually fully embraced reincarnation but I examined it and was very interested in it before growing deeper in my faith. I think some of these beliefs capture the hearts of young adults all too often.

This is a great video!!! The thought that really woke me up from this new age delusion was: ok if reincarnation is true, than I have nothing to worry because reincarnation after reincarnation, at one point I will get it right. But what if this is my only life and my only opportunity to get it right??? Shouldn’t I be really serious and searching who is God and what is the purpose of this one life? At that point I really started to pray and ask from God to help me understand, because I didn’t want my one only life to go in vain! And the most important to pass on my wrong ideas to my kids! My dear Lord Jesus Christ thank you for answering my prayers!!

Hindus are hard to talk to because they've adopted so many religious beliefs from those who conquered them. Now many are returning to Hinduism as a form of national pride, but even Hinduism isn't well defined. Many think they have Jesus while worshipping other gods too.

This video popped up for me after I just had a conversation with the mother of my godson about reincarnation. She’s a life long Catholic and an Indian and claimed that cancer is the result of resentment, even from past lives. I could totally see the resentment part but I don’t see how you can believe in reincarnation when the Bible states we spend eternity in heaven or hell. I’m a new Christian so I wasn’t ready to say anything other than “I don’t believe in past lives.” Thank you for explaining so beautifully Melissa.!
Hi Melissa! I believed some of these things about Jesus and the Bible too. The only part of the Bible I had ever read, was 1Corinthians 13, when I was a teenager and hungry to know what true love was like. That was wonderful - a revelation! But did I stick with reading Scripture? No, of course not. So off to New Age spirituality I ran, chasing my tail, getting nowhere, and finally having nightmares. Your teaching makes so much sense - know our Bibles, everyone!

Another thing that sticks in my craw is when people claim to be a Christian but practice new age/witchcraft and try to tell a genuine, Bible-following, Christ-focused Christian that they are a "baby Christian," when confronted with the fact that new age/witchcraft is not biblical and goes against God (and uses scripture as sound backing). Also, when they try to say that Jesus _sinned,_ *and/or* that he was _married._ *Ugh!!!* 😩😭 Do you have any videos on this?

Great analysis, Melissa! The Elijah argument is especially interesting to me since Elijah is literally one of the only people in the Old Testament that *didn't* actually die (2 Kings 2). So that in and of itself would disprove the idea that he died and was reincarnated as John the Baptist!
I believed all of these things 20 years ago because while I was raised in church, it was not a faith that focused on the Bible. I love the difference you are making in people’s lives through your teaching. I relate to every one of your stories.
