Also, there are probably remnants of Cold War secrets that even now justify info blackouts. Lownie is both loved and hated, it's clear why. He keeps digging up things that people want buried forever!

Mr. Lownie is like a dog with a bone, my favorite kind of person, so thank you for introducing us not only to the book, but to the author and his methods.
Thanks Shauna for clarifying the fact that the “ dark side’s was not the bisexuality of Mountbatten but the alleged sex offences. For a moment, it sounded like the outing of his sexuality was the problem, when Lowney stated he led a secret life and double standards. I understand there were many double standards in British Society surrounding sex and sexuality, however judging from today’s morals is complicated. People had to live double lives with double standards to protect themselves in many ways. Therefore certain choices were made, despite of the potential life changing/ ending consequences. However, I’m not condoning or talking about the sex offences, just the bisexuality.
Thanks for another great chat with Andrew, Shauna. I found it fascinating. I am following and thoroughly enjoying Cheere Denise's review of the Mountbattens at the moment - we haven't got to Ch 28 yet.
Hi Shauna, About Prince Phillip. A few years back, I was working with a colleague who had been a police officer in the UK He told me that when he was on duty at one of the royal residences, an unauthorised vehicle entered the grounds. It was Prince Phillip driving his girlfriends car. As my colleague stept forward to check the vehicle, he was knocked aside by the car. Prince Phillip parked and alighted from the car, snarled "bloody coppers" and stalked off into the building. As an aside, my family always reffered to him as Phil the Greek. Love your show enough to make this the 1st time I have ever commented💖
It's clear where Andrew got his brusk & arrogant sense of entitlement from. All the Queen's children had a similar temperament as young people. Anne and Edward seem to have mellowed a bit with age.....at least in public. 🤔

This kind of interview is a pleasure to experience. One person really wanting to ask questions AND being an active, prepared listener to the answers. The other, knowledgeable but non-stuffy, and always committed to truth telling, even in the face of those who want to keep the false or flawed narrative as the accepted one. When are you hosting an Interview with Phil, Shauna? I'm sure your subscribers are looking forward to that one!

Have always considered Autism to have been with us for a very long time. Want an amazing interview ! I listened to Part 1 whilst puttering around cleaning. Part 2 WELL … I am sitting down and barely moving a muscle.😮. Loved it! Speechless and fascinating. Thank you Shauna My goodness Miss, you’ve given yourself LARGE shoes to fill. 💕😊
I love your interviews you have a gift for this! ❤ I must ask you. Are you going to talk with him about his book The treator king". I listened to a talk (here on YT) he gave 2021 at the Isle of White literary festival. I was STUNNED. It's like Edward's evil spirit has incarnated in Harry. Please don't think I totally lost it.. 😆 But I am in shock.. You must ask him how he think it's possible with this repetition of personality. What'screated it? If it's in their upbringing. I need to calm down before going to bed. That talk spooked me. Thanks for all your great work Shauna❤
That as an excellent interview Shauna. I knew about the Mountbatten’s marriage of convenience and extremely profligate lives ..the former military and naval men in my family despised him and wouldn’t have given him the time of day, in fact they were surprised no one had ‘knocked him off’ earlier! However, it never dawned on me that he had ‘a type of autism’! It’s just Autism - severe, mild or moderate or in his day also possibly Asperger’s Disorder….I always just thought he was an arrogant b@^%@*d who always thought he deserved more than he had…it seems he awarded himself a number of the medals he wore. It was the Queen Mum who kept him in his place….as clearly, being an Aristocrat herself she would have known where all their secrets were buried and, being who she was, no one dared cross her…including Dickie ! Thank you for a thoroughly engaging interview!
I really hope you do the biography of Prince Phillip. I will be looking for the biography of the Mountbattens. I am currently reading Mountbatten by Ziegler. I am loving these interviews and hoping for more from Shauna and Andrew-

What a great interview, such an interesting man. I listened to Cheere Denise read The Traitor King which I so enjoyed and learned so much and am currently listening to her read The Mountbattens. Such an interesting book and again, learning so much about Dickie and Edwina.
As long as Charles is alive--and anyone who knew Prince Phillip--there will be a lead wall around the Mountbatten and his demons. He was far too clever and self-protective to abuse members of the RF, but I sense that Philip was smart enough to get wise to him later in life. I don't doubt Philip destroyed his own documents--he was very wise.

I am busy catching up on the Andrew Lownie talks. This one I had to listen to as my dad in the parachute regiment was a guard of Lord Mountbatten in Singapore. My dad was also in India however, never mentioned being a guard at that time only the surrender of the Japanese. I travelled from Johannesburg through Israel, Greece, Yugoslavia, Austria & arrived in Italy at the time of the death of Lord Mountbatten. The one & only English news paper that I bought during my year travel. I surprised my parents at the 35th anniversary of Arnhem & met Major General Frost. (A Bridge Too Far) When I arrived back in the UK my dad announced he & I would travel down to Aldershot the next day to attend Lord Mountbatten's memorial service at the Parachute Regiments Chapel which the young Prince Charles attended in full uniform. I knew the Mountbatten's had an open marriage because my dad mentioned on 2 or maybe 3 occasions that Lord Mountbatten would arrive back at the Raffles Hotel with a women on each arm. He never mentioned seeing Lord Mountbatten with boys/men, he was possibly having a good time with the women of Singapore.

I have loved your interactions with Mr. Lownie and I must read his book now. This is my favorite Shauna, bringing my attention to a wonderful, well researched book. Thank you. History is a treasure trove, and these authentic researchers bring it to us. Mr. Lownie is like a dog with a bone, my favorite kind of person, so thank you for introducing us not only to the book, but to the author and his methods.
Wonderful!
Fabulous interviews with Andrew Lownie, Shauna. So interesting.
Another Excellent interview with Andrew, Shauna. If he writes one about Prince Phillip I think it will be an eye opener!
Sure to be!
Thanks for another great chat with Andrew, Shauna. I found it fascinating. I am following and thoroughly enjoying Cheere Denise's review of the Mountbattens at the moment - we haven't got to Ch 28 yet.
Thanks for the info, that would be very interesting indeed.
Cheere Denise is so good ; I am following too !
Hi Shauna,
About Prince Phillip.
A few years back, I was working with a colleague who had been a police officer in the UK
He told me that when he was on duty at one of the royal residences, an unauthorised vehicle entered the grounds.
Quite the story! Thanks for sharing it 😊😂
Quite an inaugural comment!!!!
He was an arrogant bully.
It's clear where Andrew got his brusk & arrogant sense of entitlement from. All the Queen's children had a similar temperament as young people. Anne and Edward seem to have mellowed a bit with age.....at least in public. 🤔
Ohhhhhh!!! What year does that happen?????
Hi Shauna, from Florida! Really enjoyed this second part as much as the first! Interesting content and author! You are a great interviewer! Can’t wait for more! Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
❤Thank you Shauna and Andrew! You are a fantastic interviewer Shauna, you're able to easily establish a connection with all your guests, and Andrew communicates so wonderfully. I'm Portuguese, not even very found of the idea of monarchies, but I greatly enjoy your channel and your approach to all themes. Looking forward to the next interviews.
I definitely plan to! He is busy writing atm!
Such a fascinating read. My mother would've been truly aghast by the newly fleshed-out knowledge of these people I feel I gleaned by reading this book. Thanks to the both of you!!! I can hardly wait til Prince Philip gets the full "Lownie" treatment, also!!!
Thanks Shanta both these interviews were excellent and extremely interesting.
Thanks for listening
Yes Andrew, please do a biography of Prince Phillip. Fascinating interviews with Shauna. Thank you! ❤
Thanks for watching!
Shauna thank you for this fascinating Part II of your Interview with Andrew Lownie.
Good morning, Shauna. Fantastic interview 😊❤
Thanks for watching Sharon!
You are so thorough, Shauna! Well done on an excellent interview. Thank you to both you and Andrew Lownie.
Thanks so much!
Have always considered Autism to have been with us for a very long time. It gave us the people who could wonder away from their families and homes for long periods of time, so some of our adventurers and those people who could just sail off to voluntarily settle in other countries, knowing they may never return "home".
BRAVO 💪🏽🫶🏽👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤩What a truly excellent collaboration!! Both of you are admirable champions of the truth & of fact versus cover ups & fiction.
I think the military men in your family might have been spot on!
You kept him on his toes Shauna! I think he was exhausted but very appreciative!
I really hope you do the biography of Prince Phillip. I will be looking for the biography of the Mountbattens. I am currently reading Mountbatten by Ziegler. I am loving these interviews and hoping for more from Shauna and Andrew-
This interview has been fascinating. Love it Andrew is so interesting thank you Shauna
So glad!
thank you shauna .great interview with andrew.
Oh Shauna ... here is another book I need to buy ... very interesting interviews ... really enjoyed them ... need to get some of Andrew's books .. good thing I have a kindle. Thank you ... Monika
Wonderful!
Thankyou Shauna such an insightful interview - Andrew Lownie is so interesting.
He is!
Waiting till someone has died before speaking out is correct…I could not burden my parents with horrendous truth…..I waited till they passed…..
❤️❤️❤️
Absolutely. Why hurt the people still alive & maybe don't have a clue.
Great interview. I have always heard stories about Mountbatten so will have to read the book.
PS can't wait for Andrew's upcoming books on Andrew & Sarah and then Philip - I was just thinking last night that I'd love to read a good biography on him...as for Sarah - definitely a Becky Sharp without the smarts perhaps???!!
Great chat you two...time for a shower and to start the day!
Brilliant interview(s)! I listened to Mr Lownie’s two royal books on audio and they were riveting. I admire his fight to expose the truth tremendously. Can’t wait to read his new book.
“… Wallis had so many facelifts … “ 🤣🤣🤣
😂💕
*@Coffee C Books:* GOOD LORD! Imagine what Wallis would have looked like *without* all those facelifts!
Brilliant interview, I thoroughly enjoyed it ❤
Utterly fascinating. This seems like a wonderful book. I'm also enjoying listening to cheere Denise do. A chapter by chapter review. Andrew Lownie is awesome., What a gift to humanity
Thank you for your support.
Cheere Denise fan here, too !
Very interesting. Love this interview.
Fantastic and even better than the first interview. Obvious natural and relaxed chemistry between you. Really showcases how well read you are!
A huge thank you for your preparation and superb effort!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Incredible! So much unknown history behind the history! Omg😲😲
Two great researchers, what a treat it was to get your insight.
Andrew's amazing, i love him!! Thanks so much Shauna xx
Thank you. Fantastic interview. Fascinating material. Who knew.....?!!!
Wonderful interview! Thank you for your book reviews. I’ve loved every one!
Spellbound by this interview…the magic of storytellers !
Indeed!
@@thevintageread The thing is it is not a story !!!
Wow! Another great episode. The Mountbatten apples don't fall far from the tree. It appears at least Prince William has escaped that..that...I'm, family trait(?). Shauna, you ask all the right questions. You and Andrew make a great team and he provides such amazing content with all his books. I'm looking forward to his book on Prince Phillip. Is it too early tho? He hasn't been passed that long ago. Just a thought. I'm sure it'll take Andrew a while to dig up content/papers. Thanks for another great interview!
Perhaps by the time it's ready for sale, enough time will have passed.
Shauna you out done yourself once again ❤ I'm also reading up on mountbatten, and will buy Andrew's books. Thank you ❤
Thank you.
This was so fascinating. I watched a Mountbatten episode on Scandal Mongers podcast, so I didn't think I'd learn anything. I did. It was also entertaining. Thanks.
Yes I tried to introduce new aspects of the story!
Incredible deep dive interview that reveals fascinating elements that brought about the assassination of Louis Mountbatten. Appears Ole Louis had it more for captive males than females---definitely a hanger-on to power intoxication than any form of affection. Ms. Kay shows perfection in conducting an intelligent interview.
Thank you again! Another great interview Shauna. So looking forward to reading Mr Lownie's books.
You will love them!
Great interview, Shauna! I hope someone will option the rights to Andrew's book about the Mountbattens and make a good movie or TV series without embellishment.
An equally fascinating, part 2 interview. The information the books disclosed, about the people, stuff you would just never think, or know.
I really enjoy your content. No histrionics, enquiring. Making it very clear on what is your opinion and when you are quoting from the books being reviewed .
I appreciate that!
This is so revealing! Thanks Shauna for bringing Andrew to my attention. It sort of ‘does my head in’ how these people are rabid little rooters! Greedy people really. Having to stuff themselves with wealth, glory and sex.
Great interview Shauna , thank you both!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love these conversations with Mr. Lownie, could listen all day!
With all this history coming to life, one can truly understand Queen Elizabeth's mantra "never complain, never explain".
I could happily have listened to this conversation go on for a few more hours. I can’t wait to read this book and some of the other ones Andrew has written. I have only recently come across these book review sites and am thoroughly enjoying them.
I hope you enjoy the books.
Andrew writes eloquently about topics I find fascinating. Thank you for the video, Shauna, you have reinforced the many reasons to read all of Andrew's books. I am looking forward to many hours of enjoyment!
Now that was a brilliant thank you to both Andrew and Shauna. ❤
This man is so interesting. Love your i interview with him Shauna thank you❤
😘💕
Thank you both Shauna and Andrew for adding to the enjoyment of my birthday!!!
❤❤
Happy Birthday! 🎂
Happy birthday!

Thoroughly enjoyed that, you are both so inquisitive and your results so interesting.... A Prince Phillip book would be something to look forward to, I do hope that happens.
I’m sure it will!
Thank you for this interesting interview. Bravo Shauna.
Another fabulous interview. So interesting. Thanks Shauna.
Thanks for listening
What a great interview, such an interesting man. I listened to Cheere Denise read The Traitor King which I so enjoyed and learned so much and am currently listening to her read The Mountbattens. Such an interesting book and again, learning so much about Dickie and Edwina.
I love when creators dovetail...even when unintentional.
Andrew obviously loved talking to you. And you loved talking to him. Great insights into these (in)famous historical figures.
I did! I’m glad it showed 😊
What a wonderful interview, thank you Shauna and Andrew!
I’d enjoy the Lownie Treatment of the Clinton’s and their complex private and public lives.
You don't want to get him arkanicided, do you?
@@ralphl7643 😊
As long as Charles is alive--and anyone who knew Prince Phillip--there will be a lead wall around the Mountbatten and his demons. He was far too clever and self-protective to abuse members of the RF, but I sense that Philip was smart enough to get wise to him later in life. I don't doubt Philip destroyed his own documents--he was very wise.
This was a great interview Shauna, you are the most interesting interviewer. This video was so interesting. Mr. Lownie is a fascinating author, and you bring out the best in him . Please keep doing interviews. They're fabulous. But then I love all the facets of Shauna. Thank you so much❤
😘💕
Fascinating! I had to buy the book, as well as Dr Lownie’s book on Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson. I think you deserve a commission, Shauna!
Fantastic interview! I love you both! Bravo! Jolly good show!
Thanks so much!
Thank you Shauna and Andrew for this interview. Fascinating!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Totally enjoyed this. Hope writes about Prince Phillip he intrigues me the most. I read Phillip by Gyles Brandwith which gives a good background I’m sure there’s a lot more to hear.
(A Bridge Too Far)
When I arrived back in the UK my dad announced he & I would travel down to Aldershot the next day to attend Lord Mountbatten's memorial service at the Parachute Regiments Chapel which the young Prince Charles attended in full uniform.
Fantastic interview, thankyou
