No copper in granules. Heavy black streaks in my market after 3-4years. It's great for me....
Great talking point and sell my jobs with a much better shingle at a higher margin.
    Love it.

My shingles have been installed about eight years ago. After listening to you and you showing the proof I will never buy a tamco again.

Assuming all is as is as it seems, (I am Not in the roofing profession, just a homeowner), thank you for doing the work .
The internet, YT in particular, can be a great tool for consumers as can Amazon reviews IMO if you read them skillfully

Yes , I agree, I have 100 squares of those, yes they blow off from day one , many repairs. I have considered getting up there and with a caulking gun attaching each one , but 100 squares!!!

My problem with Tamko is the heavy granual loss after a short time. When someone calls me out to look at their roof and they say it's 13 years old and the thing looks 30 you can bet the farm it's Tamko. I'm not sure how they stay in business. Tamko is the Town Whore of Roofing Shingles.

Hi #Brian ... I bought some 25 year old VERY HIGH QUALITY 3 tab roof shingles that are from a new house project that did not need as many as they bought at the time. Always stored under roof & always dry, still in factory wrappings, are they still perfectly useable, ?They appear to be in perfect condition, is my conclusion. Thanks for the videos, you have brought me to a new level of not being afraid of working on my own roofs.

I worked for decades in the home furnishings industry. Most always, when I would make a mfg aware of a problem with their product, the first thing they would say was, “You’re the first one to complain.”
NOT tell me more (in an attempt to understand and remedy), but rather subtle intimidation that I was somehow out of line for passing on what I had seen, or heard about from a dealer!
    Human nature I suppose.

I just renovated a house that had 15-year old Tamko 3-tabs on it. Roof was pretty wasted but amazingly hadn't leaked yet. BTW, beautiful scene there with the midwestern July cornfield behind you. Hope you get that job.

The way it was explained to me in the mid 90's when I worked roofing and we used Tamko...
Tamko is good now, but the brand good now will not be in another 2 decades, because someone will buy them out and/or they will try to cash in on their name for temporary profit and start cutting corners.
Put a Tamko 3 tab on parents house in '94, and other than regluing a few tabs after 20 years , it lasted to 2023, even though North America average life expectancy of a shingled roof is only 15 years.
After research, they put a dimensional GAF this time.

I have came across tamko shingles sealing to aggressively to the point you can’t get them apart without ripping them, I’ve also ran into the same situation as the video. In my experience I have found tamko to be very inconsistent with quality.
