    Love the blending of b-roll shots that build atmosphere and give a stronger context to the GoPro footage. Combined with soft music and narration, it really sets the mood.

    The water bottles at the doorway of the Vet’s office are the for pet owners whose dog has peed near the doorway. This is to dilute/ wash the urine from a public space. Also there is often some citric acid added to the water to create a solution more effective at eliminating odor.

    It is so interesting to me that you seem to feel more comfortable composing horizontal images while for me I almost always gravitate to vertical compositions. I find it very hard to compose horizontally and to arrange elements in a pleasing relation to each other. Super relaxing video, thank you!

    • @teocrawford
      @teocrawford  Рік тому +3

      Oh wow really? In that case we are complete opposites then, because I struggle with vertical compositions. I would argue that horizontal feels more natural to me seeing as I perceive the human vision to be in a horizontal view🤔 Glad you enjoyed the video, thank you!☺️🙏🏼

    • @IFrAnIKOz
      @IFrAnIKOz Рік тому

      True that should make it inherently more intuitive to me🤔 I feel like layering is easier to achieve as in a vertical image the eye automatically tends to go from the bottom (or front layer) to the top (or background layer). To me it is easier to fill a vertical frame and my horizontal images often have a lot of unwanted negative space. I would really like a camera that has vertical as the default position like some 645 mf cameras do

      Ahhh I think there's a misunderstaning! :,(
      Firstly I totally forgot that the horrible red focus assist light was on and secondly it's very normal in Japan that people hastily hop out of someone's photo if they notice, that they're in frame. They think their disturbing the shot and so they run out of frame and apologise. So I think that is kind of what was going on here - I really do hope I didn't mistakenly scare her.

      I tried to look at his camera screen and although on most picture you can't really tell, he seems to be using the Lumix 20mm f1.7 pancake lens, shooting in manual mode, 1.7 aperture (makes sense, it was dark), shutter speed somewhere around anywhere from 13 to 80 depending on how much light there is, and ISO set in a range between 400 to 800 from what I could tell.
      I think unless you use a tripod, with M43 cameras it really helps to have in-body stabilization to help gather more light without the shot becoming blurry, allowing for slightly longer exposures, including hand-held.
      Hope this helps and correct me if I'm wrong !

    • @teocrawford
      @teocrawford  Рік тому +4

      I guess it’s a combination of keeping the settings in place and the fact that Tokyo is pretty bright. So concerning the settings, I mostly shoot at f/1.7 which allows me to shoot at iso 200 or sometimes 400. However I basically never go over 400 because that just won’t look good. And then I go with pretty slow shutters to get some brightness. So anything slower than 1/60th usually works for me. The Lumix’s stabilisation is crazy good so you can easily shoot 1/15 hand held. But as you saw I also go much slower for some shots that I want to have blurry.
      Lastly keep in mind that your RAW digital photos basically always look bad… that’s the nature of digital photography - I bring out a lot of the dynamic range and overall brightness and colour in the editing process in Lightroom👍🏼

      Even in the USA you don't have the right of privacy in public places. As soon as you leave your house anyone can film you without asking for permission and use it as is fit.
      You still can ask for compensation in case that people use the image or video to make you look bad.

    hey teo :)

      Hi Yuki! The intro stuff I made for this video got a base colour grading with Lumetri Color and then I used Dehancer to add a little bit of bloom (with impact only set to somewhere around 35 I think), a little bit of halation (with the settings either at default or a little less) and lastly some grain with the amount set way lower to I think 5🙌🏼✨

      @@teocrawford thanks so much! one last question. do you intend to use the film print of that plugin in the foreseeable future too (such as the kodak 2383 film print)?

    I really love that image with the cyclist in the dark passage. Why would you say it's boring?

      What? At first I just thought I completely didn't notice, but I just watched it again and it doesn't really appear like that to me? What makes you think that?

      @@teocrawford the red light in her face and the fact that she start runing faster ... but that could be for the strong wind, either way a red light in her face its not so fun you think ?

      @@nachoupe Ohh yeah no totally agree on the red light not being great - that was actually a mistake and surprised me in that moment. I don’t know whether I can turn it off except by focussing manual🤔 But I felt like it didn’t bother her so I was kind of relieved. I think the walking is very typical in Japan because the people are used to everyone shooting (the Japanese love cameras) and assume that they’re in the way of my picture. I often had that haha that my subject thought they’re in the way of whatever I wanted to shoot😅
