The Zolo-Zoro thing: its about the sound. Just try putting "ルフィ" in google translate from japanese to english and you will see its translated as "Luffy" even thou its wrote with the Katakana "ル" that means "Ru". Extra points if you press the speak button there. For a while after the first few mangá editions, people debated if the right way to translate would be Ruffy or Luffy. So, same goes for Zoro-Zolo, since its the R thing.
@@Crysomandiaz no, you are wrong. That was an explanation people who dont understand Japanese came up with. The character is based on François l'Olonnais, and the way japanese people pronounce his name is "Lolonoa/Roronoa". The spelling "Zoro" came from Oda himself, because whenever he make posters with the english letters he uses Zoro.
@@Crysomandiaz sure it COULD be... but that is NOT the reason it is sometimes spelled as "Zolo"... specially because you only see "Zolo" and "Ruffy" in early chapters translations...
Some notes about the manga. There's a recurring theme with the chapter covers. Sometimes, they are just fun little scenes done by Oda at a fan's request. Other times, they have ongoing stories featuring side characters and what they've been up to since we last saw them. Like how Gedatsu from Skypiea became friends with Vivi, how Jango joined the Marines, and even Ace's journey to find Blackbeard after parting ways with Luffy and then Buggy. They are also in between chapter segments called "SBS Corner". In it, Oda answers fan questions. Some of his answers are very silly, and some of them add more context to the story.
@@hunterhadouken Yeah, only a few chapter cover stories were in the anime. Like how Buggy got his body back, how Coby and Helmeppo met Garp, what the Straw Hats were up to after Kuma separated them, and how Wapol became a king again. The current chapter cover story is about Yamato's pilgrimage through Wano! The chapter cover story I wish was adapted was how Jimbei befriended Wadatsumi and later ended up on Whole Cake Island to talk to Big Mom.
The little character bio pages are on the front of every volume of manga, this is done for two main reasons. Either you may have taken a break from it and you need a small refresh on the charcters and story so far, or the more common reason, they put it in so you know who everyone is if you are looking at this for the first time ever. You never know what will be someone's first manga/anime
The first time I saw his name was Zoro, I was like wtf no it isn't! Since when!? I remember looking it up and it was in fact zoro. I was like wtf??? To see your video... It reminded me of that moment in life... IT IS BERENSTEIN!!!
Yo buddy, after watching your videos I believe that they can be improved editing wise by a noticeable degree. So if you need a video editor pls let me know, I can edit well at a low cost compared to alot of the other editors you will find. Anyways, good video though, I believe you have a good amount of potential
The correct version is Luffy and Zoro, heck the anime opening and wanted posters states so, in the later manga you will see Zoro wanted poster as "Zoro" lol I heck why Viz Media continued with Zolo even if the poster stated Zoro in the manga for "consistency" sake. It sounds so awful, Japanese Zoro does'nt sound like English Zolo, the same way how most English speakers can't pronounce French R, I hear Japanese R as distinct from English R/L, only those who can't pronounce it can't differentiate the sounds. Japanese Rufi sounds closer to English Luffy whereas Zoro sounds closer to Zoro than Zolo ( because English speakers like to pronounce "lo" as "LOW" wrong intonation/ pitch. Also non anime watches English speaker may pronounce Zolo as "Zou Low", if it was written as Zoro it would have been " Zor Row" which sounds more accurate and not offputting

I never even thought about the same thing happening for Luffy!
Nope, Zoro was specifically changed to Zolo to avoid copyright issues with Zorro.

@@The_Real_OklinhosI know about the spelling. Doesn't change that it could also be for copyright issues.

I wish more of these things were in the anime! They could easily be put in the eye-catchers OR the episode’s “watch next time” segment at the end

It's always interesting to quickly read through them as Oda does some cool things in them and also sneak hidden info from time to time.

the reason it ZOLO not ZORO because ZORO was REAL Life comic to they scary USE zoro for copyright reason
in the 4kidz dub hes also called zolo
WHAAAT 😂 imma have to look up clips of that lol
DON'T GIVE IT UP, ZOLO 🎶
good video 👍
Thank you sir 🫡

Gaimon well be relivent in the end game!
Imagine Gaimon being the main villain instead of Blackbeard 😂
