    Thank you for the video. I made the jump to play on PC two years ago after picking up MW2 all those years ago on PS3. I've been watching for good content focusing on fundamentals in FPS games. Yours was a great watch and a good refresher on concepts that I may have forgotten about. There's this idea of going slow to go fast, which your video does an excellent job of embodying. I'm going to check out your Apex video after this!

    This video covers a great deal of points & is valid in its own regard, but I believe the reason the reticle is vital & should be highly prioritized isn’t for hand-eye coordination & raw/universal aim as you’ve clearly stated, but for sufficient reaction time, efficiency & lessening the amount of time it takes to get to your target; That way you spend less time moving your screen (snapping) & don’t feel like everyone is faster than you due to not having the middle of your screen (reticle) in an optimal position. This is the upmost important factor for controller players viewing this video who do not have the ability to flick their wrist at targets while on low sensitivities.

    I can't believe this only had 455 views, this is a GEM among others out there! Thank you very much for creating this video HazedNConfused!
    P.S. After watching the whole video, I can say that this will not only translate to games, but to real life, imagine a glass slipped out of your hand, your smooth aim (following the object with your eyes, the falling glass) will increase your potential chances of catching it on time before it hits the ground (given you have good hand eye coordination and reflexes, both of which can be improved by doing certain exercises). It happened to me on numerous occasions where I was amazed at how I managed to grab a set object before it hit the ground (just a personal thought on the subject discussed here in, I may well be wrong on this one, but that's personal observation in my personal life).

      I completely agree and think you may be on to something. I really want to investigate this more, because the majority of advanced players I’ve talked to have had backgrounds in fast paced activities that required a degree of eye-hand coordination. I also have theory that a huge aspect of consistent aiming is due to how long a player can maintain acuity on a fast moving target (such as focusing on a fly that is moving fast around you). This also may explain how talented controller players can hop on to MnK and excel in a very short amount of time. Maybe a strictly eye training video may need to be in the works 😉. Anyhow just wanted to say thank you so much for watching my vid, it means the world!

    100% can confirm that centering is huge.
    I've been taking notes on your apex aim training so I don't have to watch the video every time and I can send a written version to friends if they aren't able to watch videos while playing.
    I have the biggest thing that helped me..... moving my monitor closer to my vision and slightly turning the vision-left view towards my mouse. I am right eye dominant, so centering was weird having the monitor squared with me.
    I know it's weird in some aspects, but I suggest people try this..... my aiming instantly started improving in BIG CHUNKS, instead of me sitting in the mousenkeyboard settings adjusting my sensitivity -_-

    • @HazedNConfused
      @HazedNConfused  8 місяців тому +1

      Its absolutely not weird at all. There such a thing as left/right side eye dominance and over 70% of players are right eye dominant! The scenario Pentakill in Aimlabs is a great way to train the deficient side as well, hope this helps!

      @@HazedNConfused So I know you said to focus on the target while centering but the reason why I tend to and found helpful is when focus on the reticle while tracking helps cause you get to know if your stuttering meaning if your bullets are off the target and can use more of peripheral vision while also reacting when you notice the target is away from your crosshairs or reticle. And finally when aiming does possibly while your playing found yourself while let’s say moving to the right your have your aim or reticle centered on the left and vice versa or if you are moving forward having your aim centered downward vertically but not all the way down. Or possibly like someone I’m the comments said to look at your gun and Make sure it’s on target with the enemy.

    • @HazedNConfused
      @HazedNConfused  2 роки тому +1

      @@iiahahybilaash9434 You make some great points and I do see where you are coming from. The reticle does have a place and should always be maintained in the crit-zone while not in ADS or engaging. I mentioned this in the video when I had made the example of how running with the crosshairs pointed down can be detrimental to target acquisition speed. However when in ADS, reticle focus can be detrimental for 2 reasons in my opinion.
      The first is adding one more variables to your tracking, which is trying to line up your shot by focusing on the reticle while trying to overlap the target. This creates jaggedness to your tracking because readjustment is always needed when the target moves.
      The second is reactivity, due to how fast and sporadic players move to avoid getting shot having reticle focus will cause your eyes to form an acuity just on the reticle itself blurring out the surroundings (kind of like how a camera focuses on its subject). This hurts reactivity because while acuity has formed over the reticle it does not stand true for the entirety of its background AKA the character model. This can be lethal because even if the target moves a millimeter it can cause the player to miss or lose precious time trying to readjust the reticle over the target again. Which is where model tracking comes into play, allowing your eyes/hands to react to the target itself smoothly rather than having to worry about the reticle as an extra variable.
      You had mentioned that focusing on the reticle helps if your bullets are off the target. Yes, reticle focus can help line up your target again. However in a perfect world this would only work if the target was standing still. If you had to constantly readjust to try and overlap the reticle, this can lead to losing precious time against a player with a very fast target acquisition. Versus eliminating the variable of the reticle and building a solid foundation of eye-hand coordination when it comes to model tracking utilizing precise centering. This is why you see pro players preform precise flicks because they are not worried about where the reticle is, they are confident that whenever firing the model will always be centered in screen.
      I also saw that you mentioned peripherals and yes, it is a very important aspect. In games such as apex, destiny, and halo placement plays a huge part. Though in regards to model aiming and reticle aiming, focusing on anything other than the target while engaging (as in actively firing) can be lethal. While in cover or not engaging (fleeing, rotating, or repositioning) it is very good practice to keep an eye on peripherals. However in the moment of firing your weapon, the number one priority is the target in front of you because if not dealt with it can cause a player to lose the engagement and not deal with any of the information gathered from the peripherals.

    i tried playing enlisted recently which is my first time back into FPS in a long time, i kept missing most of my shots but i would blame lag, when i slow down the video, i was barely missing. I always wondered if there was a game or program that could help work on my aiming. I assumed most streamers used some kind of aim assist, border line cheating. but i know some are just that good because they spent enough time mastering movement and recoil.

      Hey man, seriously appreciate it. You have no idea how motivating that is for me to hear. Anyhow, I would disable it for warmup scenarios such as syw (smooth your wrist), but as for the working sets I would minimize your current reticle to around 90%. The reticle will be there as a reminder to whether or not you are centered, but it will not be an obstacle preventing you from focusing the target. Hope this helps and thank you so much again🙏

    Are you moving the crosshair or the gun using the mouse? I know about focusing at the target and not focus on the gun model and the reticle but when youre moving the mouse you kinda need that feeling of moving somthing right, i assume the gun? cause i sometimes hear top players feels that a certain gun is heavy etc.. I mean is when youre moving the mouse, are you moving the gun and the crosshair just happen to move with it or are you moving the crosshair and the gun just happen to be pulled by it? Im sorry, maybe its a weird question but just curious.

    • @FlipsMG
      @FlipsMG 9 місяців тому

      The real answer to this is neither, if you're visualizing it correctly you're moving the enemy into the center of your screen, not moving the crosshair or the gun.

    I am a demon with a controller and have the game knowledge on a competitive level as a I won some tournaments, I had enough of aim assist and now I decided to make a full switch to M&K, can you give me the best advices to build strong fundamentals with M&K? Like what kind of games even if story games i won't mind... I set my DPI to (800, 5 Sens, 1.33 monitor coefficient with relative aim on call of duty). Is that a good start setting? I would appreciate your reply!

    • @HazedNConfused
      @HazedNConfused  Рік тому +1

      In terms of building a strong foundation, I highly highly recommend doing Kovaaks ($5 on steam) or Aim Labs (which is free on steam) fundamental Voltaic routines. These routines work on the fundamentals of mouse control such as target acquisition, target switching as well as tracking. However what it has personally helped me with is drawing connections and similarities to controller which in turned accelerated the transfer of skill between both inputs. If the player is very good at controller, with enough time and effort they can be just as good on MnK if not better. This is because both inputs require a very high degree of eye-hand coordination which is debatably the hardest skill to master and the easiest to transfer over with the right exercises (Voltaic Routines).
      As for the DPI, 800 is what I currently use too. It is a happy medium for tracking and target acquisition. On that note however, this setting is personal preference, and I would recommend trying 400 DPI at 10 sense if you have trouble with smoothness in tracking or over shoot when snapping to a target. As well as 1600DPI at 2.5 sense if the your aim does not feel snappy enough.
      Hope this helps, I've added a link to Voltaic's website, you should check out their discord they have a ton of routines there that will enhance just about any aspect of your gameplay. These routines can even be utilized for controller, which is stupidly effective in-game from my experience.

    Aim trainers are pointless, unless the aim trainer is the game you're trying to get better at. Practise in the game you want to get better at.

    • @HazedNConfused
      @HazedNConfused  11 місяців тому +1

      Although you are entitled to your opinion, I strongly disagree that they are pointless. Yes, Aim trainers will not directly make you better at the game of choice, however it is there to refine your fundamentals such as target acquisition, tracking, and target switching. These fundamentals can easily be transferred from game to game allowing the player to focus on the in-game mechanics rather than raw aim.
      It’s like saying endurance and weight training in sports are useless, when in reality those activities only enhance the players performance capability.
