Sydney’s Derelict Mosman Mansion Gets A New Lease On Life
Built in 1939, this amazing piece of architecture and history named "Morella" lays in ruins.
It was sold in 2016 but nothing in the form of restoration has eventuated… until now.

I would like to thank Mosman Collective for allowing me to use the artists impression photo of Morella for the thumbnail and within this video
Amazing to see this wonderful family home of Anthony who was our landlord near Dungog from 1993 until 2015 when he died, and his sister Marianna we only met twice.
Tony never abandoned Morella.
It was damaged in a hailstorm, and later his health impacted upon him.
He was an amazing, intelligent and interesting man who recognised and was proud of his family heritage.
So good to have known him.
I am pleased it is being restored. But would have been better if it kept its 1939 heritage look.
What a mystery of how a mansion could ever deteriorate to this extent. This is a huge endeavour to take on
Hi, Phil thanks for the update on this Mosman mansion I'm glad they are going to give it a revamp and be looking forward to seeing the new look when they complete it so I hope that you can talk to the owner of this grand mansion it's going to take a lot of time money and effort to achieve this beautiful home back to its former glory.
Enjoying this channel. thank you
Good to see its finally going to get brought back to its original glory. I'm amazed that its only been abandoned for 15 years - I was always under the impression it had been abandoned for at least 30 years, going by the decay.
Gosh it's beyond trashed! Great video though. It's so interesting seeing what's managed to survive through it all....the lovely steps, urns & planters, the bathroom fixtures. Hopefully some of it can be salvaged
Magnificent.
Nice Work Phil!!
Would love to have seen pictures of this in it's 'heyday'....must have been sumptuous (imagination/mind boggles!) - curious to know the history ?!
Thank you so much I love this house and have dreams of restoring her back to her youth I know much about Morella her family. Stamford when and who she was built by lady's in the second world war. She was for the little ones. And I have a little one and a big one Khaiden and Jayden. Jayden I haven't seen for a long time and Khaiden that's in care right now his nearly 2 years old.
Thankyou so much
Great video
She is gem
How you entered inside? Is it closed or opened for visitors?
But ask yourself - do you really want to live in Mosman?
I lived there in the 90's when it was largely old money folks. Now it's full of the slanted/eyes/race like most of Shitney sadly.
@@SISTERHENDRICKS23 I completely disown the racist post above.
Mosman had been rated as one of the best places to live in Australia.
@@doubledee9675 That's the reality. If you live in Shitney look around you..Chinese outnumber other cultures by a mile.Im just stating the obvious and telling it as it is.
@@doubledee9675 you’re the true racist, I know who you are
