I'm treating my female Betta for dropsy; -; but these guys cheer me up so much, I spotted one of the red babies who was just starting up fade n she caught my eye the most 😭
I would like to keep Oscars one day but I don't have a big enough tank for them at the moment. My apartment won't let me have a tank bigger then 55 Gallons and Oscars need a minimum of 75 if not more.
Red is my favorite color, so I would go with one of the red ones. On jarring - Do you only have to jar your males? Also, how do you handle the logistics of jarring so many fish?
I tend to jar males first and sometimes really aggressive females, the rest of the females I will keep together in the grow-out tank. The goal is to not have to jar more then 40 fish at a time, which is the reason why I only do one spawn a year.
I feel your Cellophane pain... Lol, but I have Guppies. I thought they were awesome at first but waiting on colors to come in on the ones I've crossed into my snake skins is Killin me. Lolol. Probably not a good pairing on my behalf.
@@palestar828 yup, i just use some construction paper for one color, if someone want's a background with plants, they can go for the expensive ones.... not worth it.
I would love to breed bettas, but I’m just worried about what’s going to happen when the fry need to be rehomed! I would hate to end up with 100+ baby bettas and nothing to do with them because no one will buy them. I know sell them online and ship them, but I haven’t shipped fish before. Any ideas? I do have a LFS, but they don’t give out proper information about betta care and I can’t trust they’re going to proper homes. I have been keeping bettas (properly) for almost 2 years and I have a marble koi halfmoon with stunning colors and great form! Since I only have a veiltail female from a pet store, I would have to get a higher quality female halfmoon.
When you put your babies up for sale, where can we find them to buy one? Also how will we know when they go up for sale? I'd be interested in a female or maybe two being as they are already tankmates.

i need help! i recently got two bettas, at the fish store they told me i could keep a female and a male betta together! so, i did! I soon noticed the male chasing the female and nipping at her fins. i have a small tank that i use when i clean the bigger one that i placed the female in because i noticed she was very stressed and hurt. i don’t want to keep her in this tank for long because it has no filter or heater! please help! i don’t want to get rid of one 😕
I know this is kinda late. I hope your bettas are doing fine now. Just buy a new tank (5 US gallons is good enough) for each of them and make sure that you have a heater ( if your country has low temp ), buy a dual air pump for the two tanks and just use a sponge filter that would be enough. With regards to the damage fin try using rock salt search the net for the dosage. no need for medication not unless it proceeds to a fin rot. if you plan to put the tanks beside each other try to put a divider so they can't see each other. hope it helps
